Gain access to the white paper created by Volue and #Elvia on exactly how to implement the Esri EUNF electric Utility Network data model for DSOs operating a balanced three-phase grid as found in Europe and many other parts of the world. The white paper comes with sample grid data in UN implemented as recommended allowing the reader to try hands-on what it is the white paper advocates. By releasing this white paper we - Volue and Elvia - hope to allow the many DSOs out there to jump-start the UN journey, to skip time consuming clarification, and the data modelling phase and start delivering value fast. This is provided to everyone of you as a gesture of goodwill. Enjoy. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7183797445791760385/

You're working at or with an electric utility. You too see ArcGIS Utility Network [UN] as the right foundation for your data driven operation. UN is not a plug and play solution, though. The number of LinkedIn posts highlighting how you need to conduct extensive analyses on your source data and on how to implement UN to support your needs are endless. To meet the challenges lying ahead for DSOs we must collaborate. We should unify implementations. And why not do so - after all: DSO is DSO; Why would everyone have to go through the same clarification? Join us at hashtag#IMGIS2024 in Frankfurt where Volue will present a white paper allowing you to jump-start your UN journey if your a DSO operating a balanced three-phase electric grid. A white paper created in close collaboration with Norway's largest DSO serving one million meters, Elvia. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7181214042487758850/

Volue offers service-based grid calculations. This allows any user anywhere to perform grid calculations without any training. It even allows automating grid calculations in various automated processes. Grid data is fetched from the underlying ArcGIS Utility Network. Load data is fetched from your meter data mgmt solution. Grid Calculations are performed and results presented in the map - in an absolutely user-friendly manner. Read now here: https://www.volue.com/products-and-services/volue-grid-calculator Come visit us at the #IMGIS2024 conference in Frankfurt, where Volue at our booth may engage in discussions and further detail how we may help you. #EsriPartner #UtilityNetwork

Volue Joining IMGIS International Conference For utilities the IMGIS International Conference in Frankfurt 8-10 April is among the highlights of the year. Here, like-minded individuals gather, and Esri showcases all the splendours and innovations of their platform. It’s a place to find inspiration that can be directly taken back and applied within your own organization to ensure its success. Utility Network of course has caught your interest already as is the case at numerous utilities worldwide. And maybe you have started the journey. IMGIS is the place to be. While Volue may not yet be a household name among utilities beyond Scandinavia, our extensive business knowledge and highly pertinent capabilities are poised to make a significant impact in tackling the challenges outlined in the market. Volue has established itself as the foremost vendor in the well-developed Scandinavian market since the 1980s. Through strategic acquisitions, we have diligently cultivated an extensive knowledge base and a diverse array of capabilities that are highly relevant to the development of future-proof solutions. Come meet us at IMGIS where we will host several presentations together with front-runner electric utilities. Monday 16.15: Integrating Utility Network Grid Calculations in Work Processes and Wednesday 10.15: Jumpstart Your Electric UN Migration – EUNF-whitepaper from N1, Elvia and Volue. Also, come visit us at our booth to hear how Volue may assist you and your organisation in the transition towards a zero-emission future. #Volue #EsriPartner #utilitynetwork #IMGIS2024

I can do that - explain what we're trying to accomplish. We're implementing the EUNF data model for a balanced three phase grid serving high-, medium, and low voltage tiers. The out of the box tier names from Esri are not optimal for the customer, hence we want to rename the three (out of six) tiers that we will be using (the other three tiers are filtered out using D_Config): As indicated in the screenshot above, we want to rename the Electric Distribution Primary tier to High voltage. Rename works as long as we do not try to rename tiers. When trying to also rename tiers, the above error is thrown.

Agree. The solution is to make a program that analyses the dirty area polygons and their inherent information and that based on this creates 'Error Line' and 'Error Point' features. This will offer much better usability and comprehending of what errors exist where.

For domestic PV production I would recommend maintaining such information in a separate customer / meter management system. And then, having service points and meter connections registered in UN, integrate the information from this third party system into GIS. This master data management approach removes double efforts managing this information in several systems. With such approach you may also benefit from other information from the third-party customer management / MDM system (meter type, consumption, planned replacement of meters, critical customers, ...)

A quick question. I have a schema and a corresponding D_Configuration (XYZ) working as intended. Now I add e.g. an extra attribute (ABC) to one of the feature classes in the asset package template and migrate data thereto. What would happen if after adding this attribute ABC I apply the asset package with the D_Configuration XYZ without updating this D_Configuration with this new attribute ABC? Will attribute ABC be filtered out and not be applied to the utility network, or not? Best regards

Reading here (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/an-overview-of-attribute-domains.htm) it appears that the field to which a domain is assigned can be of many data types. So is it shear imagination when I believe I've Esri heard recommend using data type Integer to obtain best possible performance?

Preparing for such 'condensed presentations of what we’re doing related to UN' it would be nice to have an indication of how much time we may expect available for such 🙂 So, once you know please update this post. Best regards Jens Dalsgaard / Volue
