Hi Adrian, Thank you. I just moved it. I've noticed that since the recent update it has been working better. Maybe the fixing of the "submit button" unresponsiveness helped. The real test will be when the field crews go back into the canopy of the creeks, etc... If they receive more errors and can't get rid of them by resubmitting; as well as getting repeated records because of this, then we'll know. Thank you, Kurt

I made a survey for a couple of Users at work. Not too complicated, just some calculations, external choices, and relevant questions. The Users wanted 4 photos per survey. I didn't use the photos as a repeat. The Users went out into the field with an iPad and were in some pretty good canopy, which gave them some points that were off. Meaning the connection was poor. They tried to send the surveys and got errors on a number of them. They brought the device in and we hooked up to the WiFi. I had them sign in and out a number of times as we tried to send the surveys. They seemed to be getting hung up on "image 3 of 4 loading." I went back in to try to edit a few of the records on the device and 2 of the images were missing on each of these records. Pretty weird. Went into the feature service and could see that most of the records were loaded multiple times with 2 of 4 attachments. They had different Global IDs, so thank goodness put a unique ID field in there so I could tell which ones were the same. Do you know of any issues with adding more than 2 images to a record? Also, from a data management standpoint, this seemed pretty sketchy with the loading of the same record multiple times. How is the User supposed to know the record loaded if the device says there was an error when loading? I like the application and see a lot of potential, but this was concerning.

I have another question. I might have multiple members (2 to 3) of a crew that have different logins for our network, and they need to logon to one device (Windows 7 tablet), download a project and go out to the field. Problem is, is that even though ArcPad is being used on only one device, it still asks for the license every time a new User logs in to the device. Is there anyway around this? To clarify, the Users are using Projects and data already setup for them with templates, so all they want to do is collect data. They aren't even checking the data out or in. That is all being done on the backend through automated processes.

Hi, I've been able to "check in" photos to my network and the correct path gets updated in my picture fields within my tables in my Oracle SDE database, by using the ArcPad Data Manager in ArcMap. However, when I try to automate this process using the GP "Check In" tool, it will not copy my photos to the network or update the text in my photo fields within my tables. Is this the case for this tool, or is it supposed to work "checking in" photos? Kurt

Hi Jane, I did this, and it still didn't work for checking the photos out in ArcPad Data Manager. Come to find out, I am pretty sure it has to do with alias table names. I have alias names for all of my feature classes that show up in the table of contents. If I physically change the alias in the table of contents to the true table name, then ArcPad Data Manager works for checking photos out. (i.e. I actually get a chance to choose what fields I want to use for my photos) Must be a bug. Kurt

Jane, Thank you. I think this is what is happening to me. I too, had to "roll my own" with a related table form and I am, also, using an ArcPad 8 .axf as my template. Although, not the same errors, I will try to add the <PICTUREPAGE> AND <PICTUREFIELD>. I will let you know if it works and works with checkout. -Kurt

When chekcing out an ArcPad Project using the ArcPad Data Manager 10.1, I am not able to specify which fields I want for my photos. The only choice I get is None. The feature classes I am using have a few relationships associated with them and are in an SDE geodatabase, but I don't think that would make a difference. Has anyone else ran into this?

Hi Demian, I was just testing some of the functionality myself. One thing I tried out right away was the new default for the camera tool. It works with the web cam, but I couldn't find a way to switch cameras in order to use the back camera. Have you tried this yet? Also, I did some testing of the related table forms, and it seems to work OK. I still have to do more testing though. Kurt
