Any chance you can go into more detail where to add this line of code? I'm new to editing the WAB code and there are so many different files. Thanks!

Having trouble trying to link my data view with the data map frame in the layout. I want to have the same extent and/or same center in the layout map frame as the data view. Kind of like how it works in ArcMap. I've played around with the data frame display options and the constraint but nothing seems to work.

Being able to automatically add the address is a great addition to this application, thank you!! But I'm not sure if the process you described to populate the address field is working for me. I can't seem to get the second attempt to populate the field - where the user clicks on the map to get a location (reverse geocode). Is anyone else having this trouble? My app is able to store the searched location but does not update/populate once I click around on the map. For point layers, the app will first attempt to store a search location. If the search is not used or if a new location is selected on the map the app will attempt to find an address for the report location. If no address is found, the coordinates of the location will be stored. For line and polygon features, the app will attempt the same reverse-geocode or coordinate-storing workflow using the first vertex of the drawn location. Thanks, Liz

Hi Andrea, Did you ever find a solution for this? I've been trying to do the same thing and I just posted a question, hopefully someone will be able to help and we will be able to accomplish this. Here's my question- Edit Widget - Auto-populate address field reverse geocode

I would love to be able to auto-populate a field in the edit widget with the nearest address. Robert thankfully showed me how to populate a field when creating a new feature and now I would like to perform a reverse geocode in the edit widget and have it auto-populate an editable field. So far I've been able to get the reverse geocode to work in the widget but I can't seem to get the value from the geocode function to populate in the _worksAfterCreate function in the editor Widget.js. What am I doing wrong and how can I get the value from my reverse geocode function to show in another function like the _worksAfterCreate? _initGeocoder: function() { this.editor.locator = new Locator("my/GeocodeServer"); this.editor.locator.on("location-to-address-complete", lang.hitch(this, function (evt) { var address = evt.address.address; var AddrPt = address.Street; var AddrPt2 = AddrPt; })); }, _registerMapEvents: function() { this.mapClickEvent = this.map.on("click", lang.hitch(this, function (evt) { this.editor.locator.locationToAddress(esri.geometry.Point(evt.mapPoint), 100, null, lang.hitch(this, function () { })); })); }, _worksAfterCreate: function(AddrPt2) { // add close button to atiInspector this._addButtonToInspector(); // resize editPopup this.editPopup.resize(500, 251); // update templatePicker for responsive. this.editor.templatePicker.update(); //Add the autopopulate field value from Robert this.editor.templatePicker.on("selection-change", lang.hitch(this, function() { var selected = this.editor.templatePicker.getSelected(); if (selected) { var featureLayer = selected.featureLayer; on.once(featureLayer, "before-apply-edits", lang.hitch(this, function(evt){ alert(AddrPt2); if(evt.adds && evt.adds.length > 0){ if(evt.adds[0].attributes.hasOwnProperty('ADDRESS')){ evt.adds[0].attributes.ADDRESS = AddrPt2; } this.editor.attributeInspector.refresh(); } })); } })); //End add //just for BoxTheme setTimeout(lang.hitch(this, this._update), 900); // // reset default selectionSymbol that change by Editor dijit. // array.forEach(this.editor.settings.layerInfos, function(layerInfo) { // layerInfo.featureLayer.setSelectionSymbol(); // }, this); },

Mary, I think Robert fixed this in his latest version which looks like it was earlier this morning. Try updating to his latest and greatest version and see if that works. I just updated and it fixed my column name issue. Yay!

I've changed all the field name alias for my search layer and I can see the change in the result popup window but I do not see them in the attribute table. It's as though the search layer's field names get overwritten by the services name even when I change it. I'm using the enhanced search widget 1.3. Thanks

Mele, I asked this same kind of question a few weeks ago and Robert suggested adding these lines to the _worksAfterCreate: function which is in the Edit Widget.js. //Add the autopopulate field value this.editor.templatePicker.on("selection-change", lang.hitch(this, function() { var selected = this.editor.templatePicker.getSelected(); if (selected) { var featureLayer = selected.featureLayer; on.once(featureLayer, "before-apply-edits", lang.hitch(this, function(evt){ if(evt.adds && evt.adds.length > 0){ if(evt.adds[0].attributes.hasOwnProperty('Begin_Date_Occ')){ evt.adds[0].attributes.Begin_Date_Occ = new Date(Date.now()); } this.editor.attributeInspector.refresh(); } })); } })); //End add This only works when creating new features so if you are just updating attributes of already created features these fields will not auto-populate, I'm still trying to fix that. Maybe you could remove the this.editor.attributeInspector.refresh(); line so it does not show the auto-populated fields. Here's the link to my question for more information.

Thank you once again Robert! I really appreciate everything you have done, it is very helpful. If you get a chance, no rush, how could I make your code auto-populate fields for features that have already been created? I have users that will just be updating attributes on features that are already created and it would be helpful for them if some fields auto-populated such as the date field. I've been trying to look for a _worksAfterUpdate event to edit but I can't figure out where I'd have to make these changes to. Well thank you and if you don't have time, I understand. Happy Holidays!

Great, thanks so much for your help! Is this the same area I would auto-populate other fields with and/or auto-populate those date fields?? I was trying this but it doesn't seem to work- if(webmapFieldInfo) {
if( webmapFieldInfo.isEditable ||
webmapFieldInfo.isEditableSettingInWebmap ||
webmapFieldInfo.visible) {
if (fieldInfo.fieldName == "RPKEY") {
feature.attributes["RPKEY"] = "testing auto-populate";
//alert("test");
}
//rscheitlin edit widget time update
if (webmapFieldInfo.format != null) {
if (webmapFieldInfo.format.dateFormat != null) {

I need to be able to edit the time in the date field using the edit widget. The edit widget only displays a calendar and does not populate the time. The web map I am using with the feature service has the pop-up configured already for the date field to be formatted as shortDate and show the time. With this configuration I'm able to edit the time using the ArcGIS Online Edit but unfortunately this functionality does not carry over into the edit widget on the Web App Builder. I found someone with the same issue as this but they are using the Network Trace widget and the code they altered to fix this is not the same in the edit widget. There's the link to their solution. If anyone has a solution for editing the time with the edit widget and/or adding a button to the calendar to set today's date, it would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Sam did you figure this out? I'd like to be able to do this as well. I'd actually like to do the same thing as the Tax Parcel Viewer sample. In the "switch basemap" tool it allows you to turn on and off different layers and also lets you click on the features and identify them. This would be ideal for me! Has anyone done this yet?
