Hi Jason, and others experiencing the same-- Thank you for raising this; our team has logged this as BUG-000162368. You're welcome to contact Support to have your organization officially "attached" to this record or you can track it on the Support page. Since this is new, it's not yet available via search on the Support site, but it will flow through shortly. https://support.esri.com/en-us/products/arcgis-online Marianne

Hi folks, I appreciate the Support cases and Community posts, thank you for taking the time and opening this for broader awareness. I don't have much additional information to share, I'm adding a note here to confirm the Online team is actively working to resolve this issue and it is a high priority. I'll defer to the Support analysts on your cases to manage updates, but please know this issue is front and center with the full team behind the scenes and we'll have additional information to share later in the day. You're welcome! Map Viewer Classic is still here, yes. We're actively encouraging everyone to use Map Viewer and to call out any workflows, features, or functionality which they feel don't meet the capabilities they've been accustomed to in Map Viewer Classic. There will come a day when Map Viewer Classic is no longer available, but there will be at least a year's notice before that happens, and we'll have more details to share soon.

Hello NR96--this sounds like a great lesson! Integrating csv with web GIS has so many practical applications. A few thoughts: Sketch layers will be supported as analysis input (including Join) in the June 2023 update, which is coming up on Tuesday. To achieve the equivalent functionality to your Map Viewer Classic workflow using Map Viewer, you would use a Hosted Feature Layer with point geometry. This will create both the geometry and also tabular data which can be used for joins and many other operations. I hope you find that helpful--let me know if you have other questions and I'll be glad to offer additional direction.

Hello, I'm the Product Manager for Feature Data Store and Map Viewer; thank you for a great question! This limit is not quite what it appears at face value--the "query" limit does not mean a specific number of queries. Rather, it means a specific number of Request Units, which is a system we invented to tell our backend systems when the database is being asked to perform more work than it can comfortably handle. It is not a one-to-one relationship to actual queries; different query types are weighted and the query rate limit is based on the cumulative "weight" with which the Feature Data Store is being tasked. This limit is defensive--it's like the red line on your vehicle engine. It's not a proactive design tool; we use it to avoid overwhelming the database to the point of shutting it down. You can watch a parallel metric in your Feature Data Store usage chart, which shows you the draw on your database compute resources. This is the tool I recommend be used for design and planning. We expect to lift this chart into orgs using Standard Feature Data Store later this year. Tracking your ArcGIS Online Feature Data Store Key Health Indicators Once the organization's query rate limit is reached, a one-minute "cooling off" period is triggered during which non-repeatable queries (i.e. those which cannot be answered by a cache) are responded to with a 429 error. This gives the database time to cool off, and interrupts clients with a cautionary response. The limit is in the header--and though it does apply to the entire organization, it is defined by the size Feature Data Store you are using. The query rate limit increases with Feature Data Store size. I'd like to understand more about your ideas regarding map performance. Feature Data Store is only one aspect of map performance, and its correlation to feature service performance is best reviewed using the usage chart. I'm interested to know what kind of performance you want to track, who in your org should see it, how it would be accessed--lots of questions! I'd love to schedule a chat for follow-up if you're available; you're welcome to send me your email and we can set something up. Hi Will, thanks for the question--the direct answer is "both..." Once you make Map Viewer the primary default for the whole organization, two conditions will be true: 1. Users whose default is presently Map Viewer Classic and who have never explicitly set their individual default (i.e. never switched their primary viewer to Map Viewer and then back to Classic) will become Map Viewer as a default 2. Users who have explicitly set their individual default will remain as they are--whether Map Viewer Classic or Map Viewer The goal from our team's perspective was to ensure as little disruption as possible, so only those users who have never explicitly selected a default viewer are impacted. I hope this is helpful; please let me know if you have any clarifying questions or comments.

Hello Zelda, I'm sorry to learn of the disruption to your organization and appreciate your reaching out here, thank you. As you know, some organizations enable signed requests and encrypted assertions and must therefore annually update the ArcGIS Online SAML certificate. Each year, Esri sends an email to each organization using the SAML certificate, advising of the upcoming expiration and offering direction on which actions are required to avoid service disruption. For a subset of organizations using the SAML certificate, an internal error resulted in this year's email reminder being delayed by one day. We're working with individual organizations and Account Teams to support those who were negatively impacted by this delay, and I'd be happy to engage with you and your team further if you'd find it helpful. My direct email is mfarretta@esri.com; you're welcome to contact me at your convenience. Hello! I'm a Product Manager on the ArcGIS Online team, and I'm jumping in to clarify: Map Viewer Classic is in general availability; it has not been scheduled for deprecation. In our next update, Presentation for Map Viewer Classic will be retired. You can review the details of this deprecation at this link: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000027297 Presentation is a slide-creation feature accessible through Map Viewer Classic. It has been superseded by the Exhibit app, which is an ArcGIS Online Instant App. More on Exhibit here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/instant-apps/latest/create-apps/exhibit.htm#:~:text=Use%20the%20Exhibit%20app%20template,provide%20a%20title%20and%20notes. To your question about embed: we do not have Map Viewer embed functionality on a timeline just yet, but (as you know and I'll place here for others coming through) in the meantime, you can publish your map through Instant Apps and embed the app. More info on that workflow is here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/embed-maps-groups.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_9B629D885B1D41ECAFFA651CF2D2A849 Hope that's helpful, and please let me know if you have additional questions.

Hi Matt, Opening Map Viewer from the app selector opens a "blank" map, similar to how opening Microsoft Excel will open a blank spreadsheet. If you'd like to open the same set of layers every time, you can add those layers to a blank map and then save that map to your content. The next time you log into ArcGIS Online, instead of opening Map Viewer directly, you can open that specific map and you'll have the content you're looking for, at the ready. Hope that's helpful!

Hello Javier, Thank you for the reply and apologies for the delayed response-- We have been examining the pop-up behavior following the recent update and have adjusted some unexpected behavior. If you find this issue is still occurring, it will be helpful on our end if you start a Support case. From there, we can have all the right teams examine the issue and keep the case on track. Thank you again for your feedback and attention! Marianne

Thanks for the feedback Doug! Support for editing and reading related records is being discussed within the context of our 2022 road map, and has lots of support both with our internal teams and end users. We're targeting this year, but there's still much afoot, being only in March--but rest assured, this functionality is high value and it is coming. Thanks again!

Hi Doug, I can appreciate the irritation here--it's one of those things that absolutely grinds the gears after a while! In this case, I will track this request but will add: we're focusing heavily on Map Viewer, and non-critical tweaks to Map Viewer Classic can be challenging to prioritize. Can you tell me more about the specific features or functionality you're waiting on in Map Viewer? I'd like to see how we might get those hurdles cleared for you. Thank you!

Hi Javier, We did update ArcGIS Online last night, but the behavior you're describing is not expected and I'd like to help get you back up and running. Can you start a Support case to have one of our team examine the problems you've seen? And in addition, if you can send links to any of the maps or dashboards which are not loading or are loading in correctly, I can take a look as well. Thank you for letting us know-- Marianne
