I have been trying to use the tiles labels to annotation tool, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. When I run the tool it generates the Annotation Feature classes and the tables show that there is data in them but nothing shows up in the map. Several of the layers use python label expressions to pull label data from related tables. I am wondering if this is the problem. Manually converting labels to annotation works though. Any one else had problems with the Tiled Labels to Annotation tool in arcmap 10.6 using python label expressions?

Hello Is it possible to have feature linked annotation that uses text that is stored in a related table? I currently have a feature that labels based off comments stored in a related table but I would like to use feature linked annotation instead of a label. I currently use a python labeling expression similar to this How To: Label a related table. I have set up a feature linked annotation in my SDE database and it works fine when it is based off a field in the feature or a python expression that does not reference the related table , but when I try and use my python labeling expression with the related table my anno is blank. The expression verifies in the expression editor and when I create a new point I can see that a row is created in the anno feature class but nothing displays. I am just wondering if anyone has successfully been able to do this. Thanks

Hello I am setting up some labeling in a template mxd that will be used by several people in my organization. The label info comes from related tables in an sde database so I am using a python labeling expression. In the expression I need to connect to sde in order to access the related table. I have been successful getting this to work properly on my machine but when a coworker uses it, it fails because it is referencing the wrong connection.sde file. I am using the code below thinking that it would pull the path to the sde connection file on the users machine, but it always returns the path of my connection.sde and not the users connection. # Get database connection mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument("CURRENT") layer = arcpy.Describe("Hydrants") path = layer.dataElement.catalogPath db_connection = os.path.split(path)[0] Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the sde connection dynamic?
