We completed a major sign collection project last summer. We were forced to use ArcPad because of using related tables - poles as the spatial feature with signs and inspections as related tables to poles as well as inspections being a related table to signs. We handled unique ID issues by having about 15,000 sequentially numbered labels with press out date fields and other information which we attached for inventory ID to the signs and poles and recorded all this in our field edit. It took a couple months of planning with several project revisions to get it up and rolling the way we wanted but we were able to get all of our poles and associated signs inspected and collected over the summer. We used ArcGIS Mobile exclusively the previous summer and it made the data flow process go so much smoother but it isn't yet able to handle related tables. Good luck.

I was running the Beta version just fine. I uninstalled the Beta version and installed the release but am getting the error: "HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error Calling LoadLibraryEx on ISAPI filter "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\\aspnet_filter.dll" failed". Since the previous version was working ok I'm wondering what's different that would cause an issue. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? I figured this item out. I'm running Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5. After changing the default .Net setting from 2.0 to 4.0 (which didn't solve the problem by itself) I went into the Advanced Settings for the Silverlight Viewer and changed the Enable 32 Bit Applications setting from false to true. After that, everything worked just fine.

Hi Dan, On the simple map viewer, under the about tab there's a link to get to the Arcgis.com viewer. Is that what you're looking for? Maybe you would like a more prominent button somewhere? Thanks - I missed that. That is helpful. I am looking for a more prominent button but was actually thinking of one that takes the user directly to the ArcGIS Online map (particularly so those without capability for Silverlight can view) as well as direct link to ArcGIS Explorer Online map. Thanks for all your work on this. I really like this template - it's easy to configure and use.

Hi Veronica, You can change the file to open in explorer in the optional settings config. Here's the line of code to look for: // CHANGES THE MAP VIEWER TO USE 'simple' (map.html), 'explorer' (ArcGIS Explorer) or 'arcgis' (ArcGIS Javascript)
pmgConfig.mapViewer = 'simple'; // values: 'simple', 'explorer' or 'arcgis'. default: 'simple'. I currently have our application setup to use the 'simple' option. I've also left the embed option enabled. I like the simple option because users can stay within the gallery to browse through multiple maps without leaving the site. However, I would like to be able to give them a way to view the map with the additional options they can gete vie the explorer and arcgis options. Is there an easy way to allow the user viewing the map.html page to then open the selected map via ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Explorer Online? The link to our site is http://publicmaps.ofallon.org/gallery. Thanks for your help!
