Yep, tried the calculate value tool without success. It just surprises me that no obvious tool exists to allow an option to branch in a model tool where a sequence of steps is the whole purpose. Oh well!

Thanks again, but that requires python (which does my head in!). I should have said that we use 10.4 in my original post, sorry about that. I've circumvented the need by retaining data created in the intermediate steps but I'd still like to know if there's a way to use the one model but prevent unnecessary steps.

I have created a model that clips, projects and then writes a raster to a floating point output. I would like to be able to insert a true/false or if/then else type switch before running the float tool to enable the final out put to be selected by the user, that is, stopping it before the float tool if desired. I don't use Python. Is there a way to branch the model to either run the float tool or not?

Thanks for that. I tried renaming the "raster" registry key to "OldRaster" without success, as the functionality has returned with the installation of the ECW plug-in I'll hold off on the updating of the app. profile for now but very grateful for the suggestion.

Not sure if this is the full explanation: I installed the ECW for ArcGIS Desktop plug-in and ECW functionality has returned to ArcMAP and ArcCatalog. However, the plug-in was not previously installed so Arc10.4 must have native ECW support which has somehow become corrupted during my closing of the programs. Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks, yes, it was very odd. I used the Windows cross icon (top right corner of window) to close them as I was in a hurry as opposed to the file...exit command, that was the only unusual part of the process. Nothing was installed in between to the best of my knowledge.

My installation of Arc 10.4 has suddenly stopped opening ecw files. It did this after I simply closed the programs (ArcMAP and Arc Catalog) and later reopened them. We need to use ECWs so a fix would be hugely appreciated!

I work for a large public sector organisation with a couple of dozen 3D workstations. We make extensive use of Leica ADS 3D imagery which utilises the Socet Set file structure. We have recently migrated from Arc 10.1 to 10.4 and the removal of SOCET set or SUP file support from ArcMAP after version 10.2 is a significant impediment to our efficient use of the ADS data. Whilst we have block files for each dataset removal of direct SUP file support limits our ability to quickly open multiple layers and as strips of imagery are unalterably set to display automatically, this demands considerable system resources when we do open multiple strips of data. As we have also standardised on drive mapping and have an installed base of users familiar with the SUP files it’s operationally a step backward in terms of ease of use as well. Is there any sort of plug in that we could use to re-establish the SUP file support? Could SUP file support be re-integrated into a future service pack? Thanks.

F&^%$^&ing ArcGIS - it's taken me a week and a half of frustration to only find out that its the ECW files I'm using that are the issue! Not to mention the file paths, the options that aren't options, the need to manually specify MaxPS values, to boost the rows and columns numbers...why does it have to be so F%#$$%% hard to load rasters into a dataset and have them display?????

It occurs to me that it would be good to have a presentation scale in the dialog box when creating the pyramids or overviews or when creating the dataset originally so that the user can expect to see the display at a known scale. I've searched for days trying to sort out why my mosaic would not display above a certain scale!
