Hello and welcome from the future. I am able to replicate this bug though in a different way. I get ERROR 99999 if I attempt to create a query layer using MakeQueryLayer when connected with a username that has a period. Thanks for posting it. ArcGIS Pro: 3.1.2 DB: SQL Server 15

Auto Grow/Shrink would be great for automating map production. The alternative is writing python exceptions for all elements that might need more space than exists in a layout.

Please provide a Table Frame type that can be used with createmappSurroundElement method of the Layout Class. Currently the only supported types are Legent, North Arrow, and Scale Bar. Besides cloning a CIM object there doesn't appear to be a procedure for creating a Table Frame in arcpy.

I've not used Internal Address. Curious if it is actually want you want to target. The description of that component is 'The common network address.' https://doc.arcgis.com/en/monitor/latest/get-started/windows/arcgis-monitor-information-model.htm

Not a question but a big thanks to the people behind CIM and CIM Viewer. It has been real pleasure working with CIM over the past few years. I appreciate the work you've done. @JeffBarrette @JeffMoulds @CharlieMacleod @williamscraigm @Wolf and Others!

When setting the isvisible property a table frame field using CIM, ArcPro will not honor False, only True. The Table Frame is referenced in the layout via a map. The layer in the map is a feature class in a file geodatabase. Pro Version: 3.2.0 Code: aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject("CURRENT")
mapTable = aprx.listMaps('Tables')[0]
mapTableLayout = aprx.listLayouts('CU Tables')[0]
otherTableElem = mapTableLayout.listElements("MAPSURROUND_ELEMENT", "otherTableFrame")[0]
otherTableCIM = otherTableElem.getDefinition('V3')
if hasattr(otherTableCIM, "fields"):
fieldNames = [elm.name.lower() for elm in otherTableCIM.fields]
if "acres" in fieldNames:
for field in otherTableCIM.fields:
if field.name.lower() == 'acres':
field.isVisible == True # This will update the visibility. False will not have an effect.
otherTableElem.setDefinition(otherTableCIM)

Are you on Monitor 2023.3? You could try to set a condition based on Name + Contains + selection of service names. Or ID + Is Any Of + IDs you need.

I experience the same issue when running Pro 3.2.0. When running AlterField in a geoprocessing script tool, fieldDescription is not being populated. When running in the Python Window it is. @JeffBarrette

I should note this hacky solution doesn't seem to work at Pro 3.2.0 when run in a Script Tool.

1) Is there any Python workaround that would fix accessibility of CIM FieldDescriptions for layers that don't have them? ESRI documentation promotes a hack: If the layer does not have field descriptions, it calls the AlterField function on the first field, which forces the information into the CIM without making changes to the field. arcpy.management.AlterField(lyr, lyrFld.name) #Force CIM update Seems that the efficiency gain from not generating this information is less important that offering a predictable developer experience from the CIM API. I wish fieldDescriptions was always there.

When making changes to the validation code, specifically modifying the initializeParameters function, you need to reload the Geoprocessing Tool to get code changes recognized. Who Knew. If you find yourself in this predicament reload the tool or check/uncheck embed in the Task Designer.

Instead of populating the value table i've attempted to set a filter on a column of the VT. This also results in the same issue. The VT is missing when the script tool is run from Tasks. Something is off related to the initalizeParameters in Validation.
