It turns out that in my case, I had a python installation outside of Arc Pro that was more recent, and that seems to have been the source of my problem. Once I removed the other install, Notebooks would open in Arc Pro as before.

It may be related to this python module in the default python package, but I haven't been able to resolve it yet: https://github.com/jupyter/notebook/pull/7051

I have a script to create a Replica that checks for valid token and if it's expired, gets a new one. My code worked using the authentication and token access method I described, up until a couple of weeks ago, after we upgraded from 2.7 to 3.2. My org doesn't use named users for login, so username/password isn't an option.

But yesterday it did? That's really weird. I noticed it after we upgraded from 2.7 to 3.2, but maybe it's something else. ESRI's been non-responsive about the issue. Maybe it's a bug.

That does work, but in my case, my goal is to use this script, and others like it in AGOL Notebooks, and my org doesn't pay for ArcPy there. So I'm limited to only using the API for Python.

Hello, I had been using Pro 2.7, but recently upgraded to 3.2. The code I had been using with 2.7 worked fine, but doesn't seem to work with 3.2 I'm connecting to GIS() using Built-In login, as described here: Connect to ArcGIS Online using a built-in account > Connecting through ArcGIS Pro https://developers.arcgis.com/python/guide/working-with-different-authentication-schemes/ To connect I have been using: gis = GIS('pro'), or in some cases: gis = GIS('home') and to get the token, I've been using: auth_token = gis._con.token which I found referenced in this community post, and elsewhere: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-api-for-python-questions/get-the-token-using-arcgis-python-api/td-p/876344 But these methods don't work anymore, and do not return a token: gis = GIS('pro') print("Logged in as: " + gis.properties.user.username) print('token='+str(gis._con.token)) Returns: Logged in as: myUsername token=None gis = GIS('home') print("Logged in as: " + gis.properties.user.username) print('token='+str(gis._con.token)) Returns: Logged in as: myUsername token=None Can anyone offer any insight?

Hi Mark, would you mind sharing your method of accessing the token with a built-in user, not using user/pass. I had been accessing it using: gis=GIS('home') token=gis._con.token but that code isn't working anymore, and I'm at a loss to find why, or a workaround.

I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if there is a newer convention for accessing the authentication token? I've been using: gis = GIS("home") print("Token: " + str(gis._con.token)) which worked up until our org updated to 3.2 from 2.9, but doesn't work anymore - gis._con.token now returns 'None', whereas previously would return the token string.

To add context, I recently upgraded from AG Pro 2.9 to 3.2. Both authentication methods gis = GIS('home') & gis = GIS('pro') would allow access to the authentication token through token=gis._con.token in AG Pro 2.9, but this does not seem to be the case anymore in 3.x. 2 coworkers tested it in their 3.2 machines and it didn't work for them, and one tested it in 3.1.2, and it didn't work there either.

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help with this problem I ran into today. I can no longer access the authentication token using the Connect through Built-In account method, or the Connect through Pro method. Both of these methods worked for me up until today, and would return a token string accessed through gis._con.token. I can still get a token through OAuth, but I need to run scheduled scripts, unsupervised. Also, my org doesn't use Named User Authentication, so username/password isn't an option. // This method still works, and returns a token: gis = GIS('https:myGisPortal.maps.arcgis.com', client_id='myClientID') print("Logged in as: " + gis.properties.user.username) print('token='+str(gis._con.token)) Returns: Logged in as: myUsername token=sYzv_5rgSSiElv7...bzoR2oayAHTvuJG8 // But these methods don't work anymore, and do not return a token: gis = GIS('pro') print("Logged in as: " + gis.properties.user.username) print('token='+str(gis._con.token)) Returns: Logged in as: myUsername token=None gis = GIS('home') print("Logged in as: " + gis.properties.user.username) print('token='+str(gis._con.token)) Returns: Logged in as: myUsername token=None

Can anyone suggest tools I can use to copy & paste features (points) into the same feature class using modelbuilder? I would also want to move the duplicated points to an X,Y offset if possible. I've been poking around in the toolbox, but I can't seem to find a tool or tools that would allow me to do all this. It's easy enough to do manually, but I want to make it even easier...

I agree! The same idea just ocurred to me as I was working on a map - I was trying to remember what to do next... It'd be great if there were a simple "notes tool" where users could store whatever - notes to self, to-dos, metadata, etc.

I think the size restrictions are what was getting in the way. I used the "split raster" tool to break up the raster I needed into two tiles and it worked.
