I did not have any Locators running except the default ArcGIS Online one. I was not even doing locator work at the time, but I did have to kill Pro unfortunately. I have not had this same problem again, though. Nathan_T I feel your pain!

I am running ArcGIS Pro 2.7 I walked away from my computer, no geoprocessing events running, just a dormant moment. When I returned, this window had popped up Loading Locators Don't know what it is or what triggered it, but can't make it stop without breaking the program. I don't think I would lose too much work, if any, but I'd like to identify what caused it and how to not repeat this interruption. Thanks in advance

I believe it was 10.3 Looking inside, some of the features can still be previewed as geometry, but most seem to exist only as tables. There is a "shape" field, but not length or area. Polygons only have one "shape" field.

We are using ArcGIS Desktop 10.8 using SQL Server 2016 for enterprise geodatabases from legacy SDE. The newer gdb's seem to work ok, but I'm noticing lately that the SDE, with the most critical data, loses its "structure," that is feature datasets, feature classses are replaced with tables ending with _evw. I don't know a whole lot about SQL Server, and less about legacy SDE, but the only way I can currently get data back how it was is to restore the databases and just not compress. SDE geodatabase after compression Newer structure GDB (ignore highlighted connection, it highlights the bottom one no matter what is selected) Any advice how to fix this? Thanks in advance

We have published a service in ArcMap 10.6 to Server for ArcGIS 10.6 For reasons unknown to me, one feature class' field is putting a space in the alias field when this is examined in REST. Within ArcMap itself the alias is whatever I type. The field is SERVICEAREA that is a 1-char string. For some reason within REST it becomes SERVICE AREA, and the connected services we use are having a problem with field names not matching alias names (which defeats the purpose of alias names, but I digress) Any ideas what is going on or how to fix? Thanks in advance

I recently got a new work computer, and made the switch to Windows 10 64-bit. My ArcMap is version 10.3 I've noticed that if I have an mxd open for awhile, it tends to, for lack of a better phrase, screw up connections to any and all file geodatabase. It does not "lose" the connection, I can still access feature properties, etc, and it does not give the "red exclamations." However, if I browse source connections, and retype the path, it still does not draw and will give this error: One or more layers failed to draw: FDO error: 0 General function failure [File GDB layer name]: General function failure My only recourse is to close and restart ArcMap. The article http://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000005082 did not provide help I could use in this case. I never had this problem with previous Windows or ArcMap versions. Any similar encounters?

Hello, I've been experimenting with the histogram button for displaying rasters within the Layer Properties. However, there's not a clear method (to me) for resetting/removing added points I've made along the histogram line. Surely there's an obvious way to get back to the default histogram? I've dragged points to approximate locations, but with many points, it does get tedious. What am I missing??

My assistant made some project versions of our main sde geodatabase and unwittingly used double quote characters in their names, which is apparently an sql no-no. If I go through version manager and try to delete the version using sde superuser, nothing happens. If I try modifying the name or access, I get this error: I don't have access to the sql server to manually dig through that way, and I'm not sure what to tell the IT manager to look for. Any ideas how to remove these "ghost" versions?

I am new to Portal, installed 10.3, and seemed to get through the initial admin account setup. However, subsequent trips to the Sign In screen results in this: No boxes for user/password appear, and the only workaround is to create a new account, with a unique email/user, and this is good for one Sign In only, then it goes to the "prison." I'm sure it has something to do with "security" but that's not really my forte, please advise.

I don't know about upgrading from 10.2.x to 10.3, I was having the same error when installing 10.3 raw. When reviewing the log file referenced in the Error Message, there was a line that said to "delete everything in the arcgisportal folder" or something similar. I believe it was not seeing the database store or some such thing. Finding information in this log should be key to your problem. I don't remember what I did to get ours working, but believe I deleted the folder and reinstalled Portal. But find and check your log file first. Again, I do not know if deleting the folder would negatively affect your 10.2.2 Portal data.

I installed ESRI Maps for Office toolbars on Microsoft Office 2010 for Excel and Powerpoint. They both installed correctly, and I restarted the computer. When launching Excel or Powerpoint, with either new or existing files, I navigate to the Esri Maps tabs, and "Insert Map" "Sign In ArcGIS" and "Help" are visible buttons. The help button works, but the other two immediately crash the program. Both my computer and Office are 64-bit. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Esri Maps for Office, but it still does not operate correctly. I have seen older threads discussing issues, but haven't spotted any with a solution that works for me.

We just upgraded to ArcGIS 10 and whenever I try to change point feature symbology, Character Markers will not display, and I cannot edit point symbols beyond size, color, and masks of existing symbols. I've tried rolling back to 9.3 but no dice. Please advise.
