Tim, Why are you not using the MakeQueryTable_management?
LOCATIONS_T = "Database Connections\\SDE DATABASE.sde\\USERNAME.LOCATION_T"
arcpy.MakeQueryTable_management(LOCATION_T, "QueryTable", "USE_KEY_FIELDS", "", "", "Job_Key = " + str(Job_Key))
This brings the queried table in to my project.

Sorry a little stressed today. So, for instance, if you want to set a penalty (say, all left turns will take 10 seconds) or prohibit doing any left turns, you would need essentially rebuild the network dataset which is not the option with Streetmap Premium. Which is exactly what I need to do. So basically what you are saying is if it does not already show up in the restrictions as a parameter I will not be able to do it. Which means we just wasted a bunch of money getting a dataset that will not meet our needs. 😞

Thank you for the useless answer. I know its an SDC and that they are read only. If you read my question you would see that according to the comparion chart the dataset we purchased has turn restrictions. My question is how do I access that ability. Or am I reading that wrong and what I think of as a turn restriction different than what was provided. If so then this version of the dataset is of no use to my facility and we should buy the cheaper version.

We recently recieved the StreetMap Premium (NAVTEQ) Data, and I was looking for a way to limit left turns. Acording to the comparison matrix chart the version we got should allow us to do turn restrictions but I do not see an option. Am I overlooking something? I see restrictions for various drive methods (i.e. Drive an Automobile, Drive a Delivery Truck, Walking) but from the help documentation that appears to just limit what edges the routing software can use in route creation. What option do I use to limit left turns?

Besides being more current what additional features does the Streetmap Premium offer? Does it include turn restrictions? scaled drive times?

So the application is arcPy (ArcGIS 10.1). A description of what the scripts are doing might be useful (especially of you want to pursue this with Tech Support). Yes its an arcpy script. Each script is identical with a slight modification in the data. I am running a vehicle routing problem with the service times being different between each script. After the solve is complete I append the orders layer to a table in SDE called Orders_v1 (etc). The script then moves to the next area in the list and processes it then appends and moves on. Script 1 has service time values of 15% A and 85% B Script 2 has service time values of 50% A and 50% B Script 3 has service time values of 100% A We then compare the output to determine viability of the given plan. Each run consist of about 1000 area with order counts ranging from 10 to 1500. The commands I am using are
Orders = "VPR\\Orders"
Routes = "VRP\\Routes"
SDE_Routes = "Database Connections\\DATABASE\\account.Routes_v1" #Actual database name and account removed
SDE_Orders = "Database Connections\\DATABASE\\account.Orders_v1" #Actual database name and account removed
arcpy.Append_management(Routes, SDE_Routes, "NO_TEST")
arcpy.Append_management(Routes, SDE_Orders, "NO_TEST")
Environment is set to auto commit after 1000 records but since most areas are less than 1000 records I am assuming it is committing after it finished each area. When all three versions are run competing locks are created on GDS_TABLES_LAST_MODIFIED.

ArcSDE 10.1. Don't believe there any service packs. Oracle 11g. Patches? not sure but should be current on all patches. I am running several python 2.7 scripts, each updates its own set of tables, no two are identical. The table that seems to be in conflict is one of the SDE housekeeping tables, GDB_TABLES_LAST_MODIFIED. Example: Script 1 Tables - Orders_v1, Routes _v1 Script 2 Tables - Orders_v2, Routes_v2 Script 3 Tables - Orders_v3, Routes_v3

I have serveral processes that update tables in SDE. If I run two processes the times seem normal. However, when I add the third process the times for all processes double. When viewing the database I see that there appears to be an issue with each process stepping on each other to write to the Last Modified table. Since I was not the person who set up SDE on this database I am not sure what the configuration looks like. So my question is ... Is this normal? And if not where should I look to correct it?

Will a Python script using ArcMap (ArcInfo) tools run on a server with only ArcServer installed? or does said server also need ArcMap desktop environment installed to be able to access the desktop tools? If not how does it handle licensing issues, particularly concerning extensions. Thank.

If it makes it easier for you to understand this is the line of code as it rest in my script # Process: Select
arcpy.Select_analysis(IN_line, OUT_zero, "\"Shape_Length\" = 0") I just thought I would be nice and put what formats of input and output were expected. This is important when building the where clause as the format of the field would be different based on the format of the input storage. I am running ArcMap 10.1 pre-release. I am posting here because I have never used this function in a script and was not sure if this was the typical output for this function. I was hoping someone using 10.0 or earlier would say "Yes it has always been that way.", or "No it shouldn't.", or even "I works correctly in my code." At that point I would know how to proceed, either with a bug report of change my code so it uses the data as outputted.

You have a few issues, not sure if they are related to the problem you are having or some mistake in copying your code. Your where_clause has a syntax error and your in_features variable should be raw stringed or you should be setting your workspace to the FGDB. Something like this Actually my issues have nothing to do with what you stated as it reads my in_features correctly and my where_clause works fine as well. If you read my issues it has to do with the output and output only. The results of my code is the Input file becomes what is expected in the Output and the Output becomes a copy of the Original Input. This and only this is the issue I am trying to get resolved. If my where_clause was wrong the output file would give me different results but the Input file now has the results that I expected in the Output (as per my where_clause). Also if my input was wrong I would get an error as there would be nothing to read. Example: Input (linefile) Name, Shape_length A, 1.508 B, 0 C, 2.134 Ouput (linefile_zeros.shp) Name, Shape_length A, 1.508 B, 0 C, 2.134 (linefile) Name, Shape_length B, 0

Not sure if this is a bug or as intended. # Set local variables
in_features = "working.gdb\linefile"
out_feature_class = "C:/output/linefile_zeros.shp"
where_clause = '"\"Shape_Length\" = 0''
# Execute Select
arcpy.Select_analysis(in_features, out_feature_class, where_clause)
What I expected - in the shapefile linefile_zeros would be all the line features with a zero line length. What I get - The original file "linefile" now contains all of the zero length lines and linefile_zero now contains all of the features (zero's and greater) Is this working as intended?

Jay, I think if I better explain the problem you will see what I am trying to accomplish. We make regular visits to locations to do repairs. Presently the cost to visit these locations is up to the local manager and needs to be standardized. We need to establish the distance, based on best route, from the servicing depot and the location(s) it services. Pay scales can then be established, with list of location to pay scale distributed to each manager. This will make it easier to explain the costs to Customer A, who manages Location 1 (serviced by Depot 1) and location 5 (serviced by Depot 19).
