Hi everyone, I was just wondering if there was a way for the Linear referencing tools to calculate the m-values using Geodesic instead of Planer coordinates. I see that the Measure tool has an option to use Geodesic instead of Planar. Just wondering if there is a way to use geodesic with Linear Referencing. Thanks

I am trying to use Select Layers By Location tool in Python. I have a polygon feature class that I would like to iterate though each feature and do a select layers by location in order to get a list of layers that each polygon intersects with. Can I use a search cursor to iterate through the polygons and pass the geometry to Select Layers By Location as the select_features parameter? extents = sys.argv[1]
#polygon shapefile containing 4 polygons try:
arcpy.env.workspace = "C:\Dataset.gdb"
#get extents spatial reference
ex_sp = arcpy.Describe(extents).spatialReference
fcs = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses()
with da.SearchCursor(extents,["SHAPE@"]) as scursor:
for row in scursor:
boundary = row[0]
Output_Layer_Names, Count = arcpy.management.SelectLayerByLocation(in_layer=fcs, overlap_type="INTERSECT",
select_features=boundary, search_distance="", selection_type="NEW_SELECTION",
invert_spatial_relationship="NOT_INVERT")
print(Output_Layer_Names,Count)
except: Any help is appreciated Thanks, Arthur

I have a couple questions regarding the information inside Geographic_Transformations_10.1.pdf. In table 1 there is an accuracy value. What are the units? If it is unit less, which are the more accurate values, high or low? Thanks Arthur

Is there a way an way to get a graticle to draw behind features? I have a feature layer that is 20% transparent. I created the this layer to add a transparency to a graphic. I would like the graticle to draw behind this layer if possible. I understand that there is the Make Grid and Graticles layer tool, but I only have a basic level license and therefore cannot use it. Thanks in advance

I have hopefully a simple question... Is there any difference between a file geodatabase created with an ArcEditor level licence and one created with an ArcView level licence? I use version 10.0 with an ArcView level licence. OS is WinXP. Thanks in advance, Arthur
