Hi, Is it or will it be possible to create a Utility Network from ArcMAP ? Will the Utility Network Toolbox or part of it be supported by ArcMAP ? More generally, What ArcMAP users will be able to do (via REST if I understood well) with Utility Networks ? (visualisation, editing, analysis) Thank you

Hi Everyone, What would be the simplest way of displaying an info table (not necessarily a database table) in a docked pane, similar to this (mock-up): Each Zoom To link would zoom to a particular extent in a map window. Thanks for your advice. TD

It would be great to be able to configure the default vertical coordinate system in ArcGIS Pro > Project > Options > Map and Scene > Spatial Reference Similarly to the project default projected coordinate system configuration.

Hi Joshua, Let me rephrase the expected workflow. I'd like to open an ArcGIS Pro project and visualise a layer of a point feature class. While viewing this layer, I would like to run a script that is going to create additional points in this feature class. Everytime a new point is added by the script to the feature class, I want the display of the layer or map of the ArcGIS Pro project to refresh in oder to visualise the new point. It doesn't matter if the script runs as standalone or in the Python Pro window, I was just describing what I have tested. I hope it helps. Thanks

Hi Dan, The problem with the Python window is that the map refreshes only once the script has completed. Even manually interacting with the map does not refresh it. I'd like to update the display while the script is running. And I'd like to be able to run the script as a standalone script.

Hi ArcGIS Community, I have a Python script that simply add points to a feature class in file GDB every second. The corresponding layer is in an ArcGIS Pro map, and I would like to visualise the point as their are being added, without manually interacting with the map. When running the script as a standalone script, panning or zooming will force the map to refresh and display points newly added. How can I programatically refresh the map to see the update displayed dynamically, without the need for user interaction ? Thanks Windows 8.1 ArcGIS Pro 1.4.1 import arcpy, time, random, datetime
aprx = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject('D:\workspaces\sandbox\sandbox\sandbox.aprx')
fields = ['SHAPE@XY', 'DATETIME']
iteration = 10
second = 1
# bouding box: east, west, south, north (define your own extent)
boundingBox = [x1,x2,y1,y2]
fc = r"D:\workspace\mygdb.gdb\Points"
for i in range(iteration):
x = random.uniform(boundingBox[0],boundingBox[1])
y = random.uniform(boundingBox[2],boundingBox[3])
xy = (x,y)
cursor = arcpy.da.InsertCursor(fc, fields)
cursor.insertRow((xy, datetime.datetime.now()))
del cursor
print('Done! ... i=' + str(i))
time.sleep(second)
print('QUIT')

Hi, I am using a Street Network to create 3D models which are not streets. The vertices along the imported lines have different elevations. Part of the process involves to apply a 'split(z)' on the shapes generated from the Street Network. Unfortunetly, the split seems to offset the models in some parts. I have identified some problems at the 'Joint': zoomed in: The rule looks like this (I do not use a @StartRule as I let CE find out which rule to start with, Street, Joint, Crossing, etc): Joint --> split(z){'0.5:C | '0.5:C} C --> extrude(world.y,20) Does anyone know how to avoid the split to offset from the line direction ? Thank you. TT

Thanks for the reply Matthew. Can we expect wireframe meshes for ArcGIS Pro 1.2 or 1.3 ?

Hi, Is it possible to display wireframes of a multipatch 3D layer in ArcGIS Pro ? In order to visualise adjacent objects of the same color (if there is any alternative way to acheive the same result I am interested). without wireframes with wireframes Thanks.

Ok, I got it! It makes reports much more visually attractive. Thanks for you reply Cheryl. It would be great to update the CE documentation with a simple example. Here's the code I used for my test, it might helpful to someone else... attr height = 20 attr floorheight = 3.5 Footprint --> extrude(height) split(y){floorheight:FloorUse}* FloorUse --> 50%: Residential 30%: Office else: Entertainment Residential --> report("FloorU.Residential",1) color(0,0,1) Office --> report("FloorU.Office",1) color(0,1,0) Entertainment --> report("FloorU.Entertainment",1) color(1,0,0)

Hi, I am testing this great new feature in the latest Cityengine release which allows us to create nice dashboards using Reports. But I don't understand how to select multiple attributes/reports to compare different modes. in the configuration panel I can only select one Report: And I get: And of course I'd like something like: In the documentation its says: If you select a report with sub-classes, only the Pie and Column charts will display all the sub-class values. Key Number will just display the main class. For example, TotalEnergyByClass is divided into the following sub-classes: TotalEnergyByClass.C TotalEnergyByClass.D TotalEnergyByClass.E TotalEnergyByClass.F TotalEnergyByClass.G When you generate the report the Dashboard displays all the sub-classes values. Could someone explain how to create classes and sub_classes in a Report ? Thanks.

Hi, I am using ArcGIS 10.3.1 (Portal, Server, Datastore) all on the same machine. My server used to work very well until I couldn't publish anything anymore as hosted content to Portal (I can still publish to Server). I had the same error message in ArcGIS Server logs. The certificate authority is invalid or incorrect (WinINet ERROR_INTERNET_INVALID_CA, 12045), URL = ... I followed the steps described above but it did not solve my problem. Things went from bad to worse. I now have duplicated items in my Portal content and some of my layers are not able to be accessed publicly even though they are shared to everyone. The error related to the certificate does not show up anymore but I am still unable to publish any hosted content to Portal. Any idea on how to fix this ? Thanks.

I got something a little better, again with CityEngine. But the rule is still not clever enough. I guess I am having trouble joining 2 faces extrusion. Something similar to what the StreetNetwork dynamic shape does, when creating multiple triangles around an axis to simulate a curve.

Hi, Anyone knows how to create a buffer on a 3D multipatch ? As far as I understand, the 3D buffer (3D Analyst) only works on points and lines. I have tried in CityEngine using the scope function. It works well on very simple model. But it is not very convincing for more complex models. I have tried with multiple extrusions, but without success. Any suggestion based on 3D Analyst, CityEngine, DataInteroperability, python or anything else would be greate. Thanks for your help. Thib@ult
