Jeremy, thanks for the tip. Clearing the cache does seem to solve the display issue temporarily, but as soon as I pan away it comes back. Here you can see that a main just cuts off and a meter does not display:

I'm trying to setup an arcgis pro project for water infrastructure and I'm running into some kind of display issue that is making the map unusable for me at this point. The issue is that when I am panning and/or zooming on the map, features will randomly disappear. It happens to points as well as line features though its most noticeable on line features where it will look something like this: here all my water lines are not actually drawing even though the labels are correct. So I scroll in slightly with the mouse wheel, and the lines pop in: I have adjusted the settings on every display option possible, turned all scale range settings off, I updated my video card drivers, and tried having only a single layer in the map when I'm testing- still the problem remains. The only thing that seems to "work" is changing the symbology from unique values to single symbol, but this isn't really a viable solution as I need to be able to symbolize by field values. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? Thanks.

Hi, I'm looking to get my department's (Water utility) GIS data moved towards the LGIM . Mainly so eventually I can do some actual network analysis with our data and put some topology rules in place. Some of our data is halfway there already, but theres a few categories we are behind on - like the the fittings feature. Looking at the data dictionary and the utility network map I think I understand how everything fits together for the most part, but I have a few questions about how the LGIM handles meters / service connections. 1. We have a lot of meters that are tapped into the main, in pairs, via a "Y" lateral. The only examples I can see just show laterals going directly from the meter to the main and ending in a "tap" fitting. But the way I have to draw the Y in GIS it seems like there should be a fitting subtype for that as well, like right where the Y splits off. Or maybe I'm overthinking this? I'm interested to hear what others do in this situation and/or what esri recommends. 2. We have meters that are directly on the main, no laterals involved. Should there be a fitting subtype for this as well? Thanks,

Thanks Robert. It looks to me like the files all the widgets have in common are: config.json, manifest.json, widget,html, and widget.js. So all these have the widget name in them?

So I am trying to make some modifications to the layer list widget with WAB Developer edition. I'm going to modify just a few lines of code so that my widget doesn't show all the layers in the map, just the few I actually want to be on there. I don't want to completely overwrite the original layerlist widget so I made a copy of the folder for the original LayerList widget, and pasted it back in as "LayerListSelect" . I modified the Widget.js for my "new" widget to reflect the new name. When I go to edit my app and add a new widget, both the original layerlist and my modified version show up with the same name, so I'm not sure which one I'm looking at. I'm sure this is really simple and I've tried looking at the documentation, but I just don't know enough to see what I'm overlooking. Thanks

Rebecca, Thanks a lot for the links, this is exactly what I was looking for! I changed a few of my layers' sources with the AGOL Assistant, and it looks like the symbology, filters, and labels are all preserved.

My question is about changing the data source of layers in ArcGIS Online. I have a webmap shared with a few test groups in my organization ( I work for local government). It's a basic civic infrastructure type map that I eventually plan to roll out to everyone in our department. Most of the layers in the map are pointing to a feature service that I have published from arcmap. I had originally planned to just update it once a week by publishing from the map. However, our IT department has been working on getting more of our ArcServer SDE layers put into our REST services directory. This is great since I won't have to update it weekly like I had planned. But.....I'm trying to figure out how I can switch my current map over to using these services without having to re-create the whole map. I have a bunch of layers in the map with multiple filters, redundant layers used for labelling, etc. Is there a way to just point the existing web map layer to a new source or am I going to have to add the REST service layers like new? The main reason I have for wanting to do this besides just the time it would take is I'm trying to preserve the symbology I created in Arcmap. As far as I can tell the only ways to have custom symbology are 1. - publish from Arcmap , 2. - store images in a directory and link to them. Am I missing something? Thanks

I basically just copied the example from the help link Ian had posted earlier, substituting my sde connection. At this point I think I need to talk to my network department about potential permissions issues. Thanks for the input everyone.

thanks for the tip Susan, but even after unhiding the folder and all the subfolders/files I'm still getting the same "Connection String does not exist" error.

I'm trying to run the code sample on the workspace properties help page now but I keep getting an error thrown at the first print statement that "method connectionString doesn't exist". I'm using python 2.6.5 with arcmap 10.0 . I just copied the code and changed the Describe object path to my sde connection, am I doing something wrong?

I'm trying to create a script that pulls about 20 or so feature classes out of sde and puts them in a geodatabase for a group of people to look at for a special project. I'm trying to do this with a for loop and the copy_management function. However after playing around with the script for a while I realized I needed to start back at the beginning because I seem to be having an issue getting the ListFeatureClasses function to even return anything from my SDE connection. Here is just a simple test I put together: import arcpy import os warehouse = r"C:\Users\aaronmanuel\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcCatalog\Warehouse.sde" testgdb = r"C:\Projects\Test\TestGDB.gdb" arcpy.env.workspace = warehouse fcList = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses("*") print fcList Running this script returns "[ ]" - an empty list. Running it after changing the environment to the testgdb returns this: [u'TestLine', u'coa_water_meter', u'coa_water_hydrant'] Which is correct, I put in these three features for testing purposes. Googling has led me a few other threads of the "ListFeatureClasses returns an empty list" variety, but ultimately I couldn't find any real answer. What other factors besides stuff like typos and incorrect file paths could be causing this function to return and empty list? Thanks.
