The link below describes planar (euclidian) vs geodesic. You should use planar for projected data and geodesic for data in a geographic coordinate system. Buffer—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop I'd suggest that you call in a case with Esri Support. https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support

Ok, so it looks like the selection method is being done in ArcMap. What is the spatial reference of your data and the data source - hosted feature services? Can you provide a copy of your data? I suspect the difference is due to planar vs geodesic distances. Use the buffer tool in ArcMap and compare the results.

You are right, it is a one-way communication, so you cannot sync edits back to the Sharepoint list. I guess a simple solution is to export the hosted feature layer to an Excel file, import the data into a new Sharepoint list, and replace the original list. However, you would have to update the web part and publish a new hosted feature layer. You can submit an enhancement request to the ArcGIS Ideas page for the sync feature service to Sharepoint list capability. ArcGIS Ideas

Are you adding the App Part or Web Part? You should be using the App Part in version 5.0. You might try re-installing the application. If that doesn't fix it then submit a case with Esri Tech Support.

As Leanndra suggested, open DevTools, select Network tab, perform the action in Insights, then take a look at the requests and responses (specifically the responses for errors). FYI - the Insights error codes are 111000-111999. If you post your csv file I can take a look at it. You can post an enhancement request to ArcGIS Ideas regarding the general error message "Something went wrong". - Will

What is the data source? Hosted feature layer in Portal/AGOL or enterprise geodatabase in DBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc.? Insights should automatically pick up the shape field so no need to enable location, and yes polylines are supported. There might be an issue with your spatial reference or geometry storage type.
