Thanks. It looks like the best I can do is to run that report using the "daily" timeDuration after 2 days have passed and all the #s have settled down.

Some of the map services on my ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 computer do not start after the machine restores itself from a WebGIS DR backup and finishes rebooting. The services are running on shared instances. What's the best way to investigate the issue? I'm aware that there's not much out there for monitoring shared instances. The map services are configured to start automatically ("configuredState"). The services will start without a problem if I manually click the Start button in ArcGIS Server Manager. Is there any way to find out why they aren't starting automatically when AGS starts? Server Manager Logs: Collects information at the INFO level Nothing about failing to start the service. Multiple messages about being unable to process requests that refer to the service's URL. ("Unable to process request. Service Customer_Features/Cust72_Battalion_1/MapServer not started") Ideas: Is it possible that the service is timing out ("maxStartupTime") as described at https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/tuning-and-configuring-services.htm? If it is, should that be logged anywhere? Should a timed-out service appear with a configuredState of STARTED or STOPPED? System Details: ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 Web Adaptor on 1 server Map services refer to an enterprise GDB running on a separate SQL Server computer Portal, ArcGIS Server, and Data Store are all on 1 server. When a company has more than one developer using Platform for ArcGIS, it is hard to "regularly [monitor] ... API key usage for irregularities." Please provide a page similar to the ArcGSI Online organization website like the View Status and Manage Members pages. and so that Esri customers may monitor their use of Esri resources on a per-application and a per-user account basis. The current efforts (e.g. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-runtime-sdk-for-qt-questions/api-to-track-usage-of-api-key/m-p/1129358 and ENH-000149064) help an individual developer. But, they don't help an organization's administrator(s) detect misuse by outsiders or provide guardrails to its developers to avoid accidents such as geocoding 1 million addresses from a production database instead of 10 addresses from a demo database. Current Workaround: If an organization builds a commercial product with location services from Platform for ArcGIS, its developers can log each application's use of location services. Then, the administrator(s) may consult the logs while hoping that the logging code is absolutely free of bugs.

>swap on a regular basis and delete/disable old keys https://developers.arcgis.com/documentation/mapping-apis-and-services/security/security-best-practices/#api-key-security says "Rotate and delete your API keys periodically and routinely, replacing existing API keys with new API keys." I'm trying to find a way to do what the documentation says without obliterating the historical usage data. Thanks for suggesting the ArcGIS Ideas website.

My company has >1 software developer. Assuming that each developer has his own set of API keys in addition to a few keys that everyone uses for accessing relatively safe things like AGOL basemaps, how can an organization monitor the API key usage and billing? I'm also worried that if someone steals an API key and misuses it, we can never delete the key. If I delete the key, then there seems to be no way to see how many of the basemap tiles used by a developer account was used by the thief. Is this true? Are API keys forever on pain of losing visibility into a key's usage? If so, then the only way to kill a key will be to set its "referer" requirement to a securely-generated random string like https://EvNrXskTnL59QfRFPFKVcGza.esri.com and swap out the random string on a regular basis.

I'm able to reproduce the problem but the F12 console doesn't show a warning about WebGL. In fact, task manager says Firefox is correctly dumping the work on my laptop's NVidia discrete GPU instead of the integrated Intel GPU. Unfortunately, Portal is too clever for a simple dummy entry. I tried: "allowedProxyHosts":"" And restarted the Portal for ArcGIS Service. Afterwards, the Security Configuration web page in the Portal Administrator Directory no longer shows the allowedProxyHosts property at all. I'm guessing that the dummy entry should be a domain that we control. For example, the dummy entry for Randall Williams's development server might be: "allowedProxyHosts":"nonexistentsubdomain.esri.com"

The blog post says "base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment (including the ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Data Store components) " and then "Base ArcGIS Enterprise components ... are therefore not vulnerable to CVE-2021-4104." Does the phrase "Base ArcGIS Enterprise components" refer to the list of "base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment" bits? Does the phrase "Base ArcGIS Enterprise components" encompass any additional components?

https://github.com/Esri/arcgis-powershell-dsc/wiki/PowerShell-DSC-ArcGIS-Module-Command-Line-Parameters says that running something like: Invoke-ArcGISConfiguration -ConfigurationParametersFile C:\config\BaseDeployment.json -Mode InstallLicenseConfigure -DebugSwitch Will enable additional logging. What it fails to say is that if you do that, then you aren't allowed to step away from the computer for the next 5+ minutes while pressing enter to all the "Confirm" prompts. Has anyone been able to get the incessant prompts to stop? I thought DSC was supposed to allow for automated deployments. Without the Debug flag, the software does not incessantly ask for attention.

After using the ArcGIS PowerShell DSC module to install ArcGIS Enterprise, will the computer automatically ensure that its configuration does not drift away from the desired state? My server currently has a DSC configuration applied that sets things like host files and registry keys. Periodically, the computer verifies that it still has the right settings and makes corrections as needed. After I run Invoke-ArcGISConfiguration, will the computer continue to make sure that everything (host files, registry keys, ArcGIS software, firewall settings set by the ArcGIS PowerShell module, etc.) is correctly configured for the indefinite future? Since another forum post at GeoNet says that "the recommended/supported workflow for applying patches after an upgrade, is to re-run the PowerShell module with -mode install", it gives the impression that the ArcGIS-related configuration is not automatically re-applied after a human messes up a setting.

I recently learned that although WMTS layers are supported in the JS API, I can't use them as a basemap layer. Is there an authoritative list of what sorts of layers and Portal/AGOL items can be used as a basemap layer? I had hoped to use my own layers & AGS map services but now it seems like a bad idea. The Basemap class's documentation says: Basemaps can be created from a PortalItem, from a well known basemap ID, or can be used for creating custom basemaps. These basemaps may be created from tiled services you publish to your own server, or from tiled services published by third parties.

That's strange; https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/api-reference/esri-layers-WMTSLayer.html says that WMTS layers are supported in the 4.* JS API. Is the new map viewer using a version of the JS API that predates 4.4?

In February, Esri wrote an article that said converting a field from text to numeric (e.g. long) required doing 8 steps, reading an additional article, and doing an unknown additional amount of work. With the release of Pro 2.8 and the Data Engineering tab, is there a better way to change a field's type? I often work with Excel files that import as text but actually have either integer values or an empty string.

Should it be possible to add https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=de8bb22f53914e9b906345e7e9dd2a38 to a new map on arcgis.com using the Map Viewer Beta as a basemap? I went to Add layer, searched for the item ID (de8bb22f53914e9b906345e7e9dd2a38), clicked on the title of the result ("World Imagery (Wayback 2019-06-05) Metadata"), and clicked "Use as basemap". Then, the map went blank and the F12 browser console said that requests for URLs like "https://metadata.maptiles.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Imagery_Metadata_2019_r07/MapServer/tile/5/12/7?blankTile=false" resulted in a 404. I also tried item ID 2de04974bcf148838142e57d74aaf379 and got the same error.
