We have been using Egnyte Connect with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop for about 8 months. I am not a fan. It is nearly intolerable dealing with file geodatabases and forget about raster datasets. My team has resorted to copying projects locally. It clearly states mdb files (old but still very common) are not supported. And since file geodatabases are made up of many small files corruption and errors when running geoprocessing tools are common. Note Adding large numbers of small files may take longer than expected due to the overhead of processing files for upload. Unsupported Characters and File Types – Egnyte EXP Now Offers Egnyte Cloud Storage - EXP Technical This system may work well for on-prem systems and for simple documents and images, but anything other than that I do not recommend. There is an offline folders option (I assume Dropbox-like) but our IT department has it disabled. I would be interested in your experience.

I see there's a way to manually delete users (Cannot Delete Portal Users), but even after a re-index, the store and index counts for the users type still do not match. And no other tables have a record count of 46.

Were you ever able to get the indexes to match? I am able to create and modify new accounts, but get "the index service seems to be unavailable" message in the portal logs when trying to delete older accounts. I restarted the Portal service first but no change. I finally gave in and restarted the machine but still no change. I wonder if there is a way to just remove the index and start from scratch. After I reindex, the user store count (54) is still greater than the user index count (46)... , 2019 5:19:18 PM com.esri.arcgis.portal.Indexer e INFO: Updating the user indexes.

OK, so back when I installed Portal I only used Import Existing (using a .pfx cert with a password which came from IIS). Then under Update, I changed the name to that existing cert. All was good, no errors. Today, I used Import Root or Intermediate with the (domain/wildcard) .crt file. It loaded, restarted, and is listed under SSL Certificates. I just reexported the pfx from IIS (where the wildcard cert is installed) and reloaded it in portal admin and then reloaded it in Data Store. Same 403. Since the proxy request target URL is the manager (6443), should I reload those certs? If so, importRoot or importExisting? EDIT: I ran importRoot with the crt and importExisting with the pfx... same error. Also, I have a cname dns record for maps.domain.com for this server, but the actual machine name is used under the admin settings...

Well, tldr; I rdp'd into the server and I get no errors and it shows up under hosting server. BUT, on my local machine: When I go to Portal > Organization > Edit Settings, I see a 403 on: https://maps/arcgis/sharing/proxy?https://maps:6443/arcgis/admin/data/findItems?managed=true&f=json&token=<token> When I remove https://maps/arcgis/sharing/proxy? the findItems request works (from my desktop) and I get a response with the data store info, etc. Portal log: "Invalid SSL certificate found. PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" Under :7443/arcgis/portaladmin/security/sslCertificates: I see the cert I uploaded under "Import Existing Server Cert" (which is the one I see under /sslCertificates/update) And I see the cert I uploaded under "Import Root or Intermediate", how can I tell if it is actually using it? Also, there are the default certs portal and samlcert. Or is it a token issue?

Well, I missed the part about updating the SSL cert for the Data Store. So I ran updatesslcertificate with no errors. I see agsdatastore.ks in the DataStore/etc/ssl directory. (Is that the only way to tell that an SSL cert is being used?) No dice. Note that I already have the same cert (wildcard) setup on IIS and Portal with no issues (that I can see). BUT I'm pretty sure I imported it in Portal using Import Existing Server Cert. Does that matter? Thanks for your help.

Were you able to resolve this? I have the site federated in Portal, Server Manger shows the Data Store as the Managed Database (and validates), and the Data Store config status shows that Relational and Tile Cache are configured, but nothing shows up under hosting server in Portal (same as your sandbox screen).

While it doesn't explain the Cannot Access Data issue (which I am also getting), I noticed if you enable the Flash action on your target map (took a couple of tries for the screenshot), the outline it displays is a simplified boundary and not the actual polygon boundary. I am not sure that is boundary it is using because even that isn't correct, in my case.

What is the status of this? "Disable External Content" does not solve the problem. Quite simply, how do you delete the user esri_apps (which isn't even listed) and its content/items?

Another question for you Jake Skinner: Will having GlobalIDs create a problem when using UpdateFeatures via REST? I get the error below in the response after it sends the UpdateFeatures request (when looping through the OIDs looking for attachments in AttachmentsToPopup2x.py): {u'error': {u'message': u'Unable to complete operation.', u'code': 500, u'details': [u'Unable to perform updateFeatures operation.']}} I was getting an SSL cert error when sending the json, but I disabled it though urllib2 context: ctx = ssl.create_default_context()
ctx.check_hostname = False
ctx.verify_mode = ssl.CERT_NONE
response = urllib2.urlopen(req, context=ctx) Note that the other requests (e.g. getting OID fieldname, checking for hasAttachments) work fine with the SSL workaround, so I don't think that's the problem. Thanks for your help.

I'm having a problem: when creating a map in Portal (ArcGIS for Server 10.3.1) the basemaps are missing under all circumstances. Examples: Portal -> My Content -> Create -> Map -> Basemaps: no basemaps; box is blank/empty browser Console: BasemapGalleryGrid: group for basemaps does not exist. (referenced in https://[servername]/arcgis/home/10.3.1/js/arcgisonline/arcgisonline.js) Note in the attached image that World_Topo_Map is displayed and working (I see that it is set as the default basemap in arcgisonline.js). Portal -> My Content -> Create -> App -> Using a Template Enter name and description, click OK: message "Failed to create the app." browser Console: Can't find group by basemapGalleryGroupQuery. Can't find most-num-views web map. Can't find most-num-views web map. I have no problems using the BasemapGallery dojo module when creating a map from scratch using the js API. Any suggestions as to why Portal isn't finding GalleryGrid and GalleryGroupQuery? It (arcgisonline.js) is minified so it's impossible to read. Portal seems half-baked, but I would at least like to try it out. Thanks for any help!
