Hi, I have a problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have 2 adjacent layers that I would like to combine into a new layer that will display properties from both of the original layers. Each layer is a Euclidean Distance layer that had a simple regression applied to it to take the x value, distance from reef crest, and return a y value, ratio of coral:halimeda. The layers consist of a Northern and Windward Region, and each layer has a different equation applied to it. I want to join these layers in a way that cells closer to the joining edge will return a value that reflects a combination of both equations, and as you move further from the center the cells will return values that are more weighted towards the output of either the Northern or Windward equations respectfully. Any thoughts on how to do this? I added a graphic that displays the 2 layers I wish to join. Much Thanks! Andrew

Hi, My name is Andrew. I am trying to create a grid layer in ArcGIS 10.1. I am using the Grids & Graticules tool in the Cartography toolbox. When creating my grid there is a field called "Iput Feature Dataset". I am confused on what this is. I have read the description in the help window, but am still confused. I was wondering if anyone could help better explain this? Much Thanks, Andrew

hi all, i have a quick question about how to fill in contour lines with color. here are the steps so far that i have done: first i created an interpolated surface for my data using IDW, then i used the create contour tool to make contour lines for specific areas for my interpolated surface. i then grouped these contours into a single drawing and converted them to a shape file. what i have are color coded contour lines. however, i would like to fill these lines in with color so each contour is a solid color. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks, andrew

eric, thanks for the help. i was able to use cell statistics to pull out the maximun pixel value for the 3 layers, and it produced what i was expecting.

Hi, I am working on creating a map of sediment distribution according to size. I have 3 IDW layers created for 3 different size classes (gravel, sand, & silt). Each layer displays the said size as percentages across the study site. My plan is to place a grid over theses layers and create a new layer based on the highest percent sediment size in each square on the grid based off of the aforementioned idw layers. That is each square would show the sediment class of highest precentage for that area, wether it be gravel, sand, or silt. I know how to produce the grid, but as to the rest I am not knowledgable of. If any can help I would greatly appreciate it. Andrew
