Great - this is a really helpful post, Jacob. Took me a few tries, but I also have this configuration working well for me now. Two additional questions: Is there any reason this wouldn’t be considered a valid production configuration? Do both the PrivatePortalURL and the WebContextURL have to remain the constant after federation? I’m wondering if there is a way to take an ami from one environment and, by changing the WebContextURL, use it in a second environment Thanks in advance Andrew

Hi Rouf, I know it's a couple of years since your question, but did you ever come across a solution for directly encrypting the proxy.config file? In your work-around with the Web.config, did you need to write additional code in the proxy.ashx to read from web.config? Regards, Andrew

Hi Mike, Thanks for the prompt response. I see the inconsistency has been rectified on http://www.esri.com/public-maps-gallery/token-tool/index.html and only a 2 week token can now be selected. Is there a recommended pattern for deploying the public-maps-gallery with private maps/groups? The standard configuration is to manually create a token to embed in the settings.required.js which is practical with a year long token, but less so if a new token is required fortnightly. Thanks again, Andrew

Hi, We're using the Public Map Gallery with ArcGIS Online, and have successfully deployed it and connected to group content using the ArcGIS Online Token Generator. We requested a year long token, but the generated token (while working) shows that it will expire in two weeks from the generation date. (see attached screenshot) Is there a problem with the generator, or are we using it incorrectly? Thanks, Andrew
