There are open source solutions that still read e00. Things like gdal and qgis. You could convert them to shapefile and bring that into pro if ArcMap is no longer an option.

I have a need to filter some annotation from related tables. I would like to left outer join an annotation feature class to a different featureclass, add a where clause and keep only the fields from the original annotation feature class and register it with geodatabase as an annotation featureclass. When I do so, it reads the shape as polygon and registers it as a polygon feature class. I would like to keep the annotation class extension on the feature class. Is there a trick to doing this? Like some SDE table to update or a field to add.

Can you register views with tables that have different owners?

this is similar to a poorly titled idea so I am going to add this. Basically some features should snap to some base map layers and others should not. For instance, an iceberg limit (line) should snap to the coastline or other iceberg limit lines, a single iceberg (point) should not. Being able to add a snapping per feature in the feature template would solve this problem.

I found a workaround of creating custom coordinate systems with the central meridian (for conic and stereographic) that aligns with the desired data frame rotation and then remove the rotation on the data frame. That way I don't have to do this.

The only work-around I found for this was the create a custom coordinate system with a different central meridian to avoid rotating the dataframe at all (thankfully I deal mostly in conical or stereographic projections) Kind of sad this doesn't work right either in ArcMap or ArcGIS pro.

Is it possible to change the angle of a hatched fill in a fill symbols layers through ArcPy.mp? I can get at the main appearance properties such as color and outline. I want to angle of the hatch on one or two layers of the symbol (hatch and cross hatch.) The reason is I need to un-rotate the map rotation so a horizontal line remains horizontal (since the symbology I have to implement uses horizontal, vertical, diagonal and cross hatch meaning different values.) Rotating the fill symbols with the map changes all the values represented in map. I am looking to automate some of map making tasks for the users. Rotating 5 symbol levels on 30 different layers for 5 different maps in a set must be automated, Thank you,

ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4, Oracle 12, 10.5 GDB. Created a featuredataset, versioned, added a point featureclass with global id. I can create a rule with add attribute rule tool. The rule works during editing. I can't seem to view the rules. In the design context submenu I have "fields", "Subtypes" and "domains" no attribute rules... How do I view the rules?

Any leads on this? I also get this running ArcMap 10.5. An mxd with two empty data frames (for testing) and I get the red x too. Two users on two workstations have the same problem. Single data frame is ok.

Thanks Uma, that explains why they are not in VS... Older esri APIs (AO) have snippets in VS (although that might not have been the base place for them), so I was expecting them in there too, I wondered if something was wrong with my install.

I have VS 2015 and ArcGIS Pro, I installed the pro sdk and pro sdk utilities from VS extensions. However I don't have any of the snippets in the code snippets manager or in the intellisense. How do I install the pro snippets for C#?

More things change the more they stay the same... I remember this exact same discussion when ArcInfo 8.0.1/8.0.2 and ArcGIS 8.1 was release. The thing was a beast, it needed 1GB RAM to run properly, imagine. At the time esri only had minimum specs which were for a relatively high end workstation at the time but ridiculously low for ArcMap. Minimum spec, to me, means it will start up, play around and that's it. Recommended spec means it will start up and I will be able to use it for real work. Optimal spec it will fly but I will probably not be able to justify it.

I need the ability of creating a quick animation based on the layers in a group. I will typically load in 7 days worth of remote sensing images, order them by time and create a group animation in ArcMap. This will cycle through the images flip book style and allow me to see the changes in sea ice over the past week.

Is it possible to create group layer animations in ArcGIS Pro like in ArcMap? I have time lapse imagery (24h) that I want to cycle through flip book style so you can see the trends in change. I know you can do that in ArcMap, you just add all the images in a group, you order them and create a group layer animation very simply and quickly. This is something done very often by different people with new images every time. I am looking for a ArcGIS Pro way to do that.
