Hello everyone, I'm using ArcMap10.3, in the Model builder. I'm experiencing a problem with the Feature Class to Feature Class tool. My model is actually a sub-model so it has one of the input changing at every iteration, identical fields but different rows. This is the part of the model (see the pictures). The problem is right at where the red circle is I guess. When I run the model with my default (or first) values ("ForestCentroid_modV2") everything is ok an this is the RES_PRE.shp But, when I run the model with new inputs (same fields, same names, just different number of rows), I have all the fields coming from that input set to 0. And also, the input layer of the FCtoFC class seems ok. Another weird thing I noticed is that If I run the default input first, and then I change manually to the second input it gives me good results (not the zeros), while if I start from the beginning with the second input it gives me the zeros. So it happens that in a submodel this second condition will occur, the zeros. Does anyone have any idea to solve this? Alessandro

Thanks Curtis, that is exactly what I was looking for, I adapted what you suggested to my case. The suggestion to use Raster Calculator was key. I didn't find the Zonal Geometry tool inside the Raster Calculator, but I calculated the condition as you said and then I adapted the rest. Now it works nicely. See attached how it looks like now. Thank you.

That is the problem. The model I am building is classifying the density of some resources, so I will have, for instance 5 classes, from "1", the lowest density density areas, to "5", the highest density areas. Then extracting the polygons of areas "5" and get the centroids, I will get the highest density point, to use for further researches. For being replicable for different resources I need the classification done with the same method (Standard Deviation). Is there any other method to get the centroids of the highest density areas, by-passing the classification of the resources?

Thank for your reply Dan. The only parameters I can set is the reclass field which in my case is constant ( the density of the resource ). What I want to do is to set only the method of classification as Standard Deviation (Data classification methods—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop), not even the values. So in the case I will change the density raster I will always have a classification by Standard Deviation for the new raster. What is happening now is that I need to run the model one time, set the reclassification on standard deviation with the data saved in during the first run and then I can have my visualization. If I change the density raster, it will keep the values of the classification of the previous run and I have to change it manually again to Standard Deviation. Maybe Reclassification is not the best way to do it, is there maybe any other method to set the method of classification in the model builder?

I am using ArcGIS 10.3. Is there any method to set a constant Method (e.g. Standard Deviation) in a raster classification in the Model Builder with the use of the Reclassify tool or any other? If I change the options manually the first time, it will change to another Method (Natural breaks usually) when I change the input raster.

Hi Duncan, Yes I was actually trying to build a counter to use for in-line substitution. It sounds like the %n% system variable does all the job, there is no need to build anything. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I'm using ArcGis 10.3. I am on the model builder and I have a While iteration. What I want to do is to create a counter: a variable x which is initialized with the value 1 and add +1 at every run, so the variable x actually shows the number of run. This is because I want to use that value for saving data with in-line substitution (...%x%...). You can see attached my first attempt. Basically my Continue is a precondition for Calculate value (2) and the code in it is: Expression: x("%Continue%") def x(n): if n== "true": x=x+1 but I got this error: ERROR 000539: Error running expression: counter("true") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<expression>", line 1, in <module> File "<string>", line 3, in counter UnboundLocalError: local variable 'counter' referenced before assignment Is there a nicest and easiest way to create a counter? (Basically the For iteration has it automatically as the Value, but the While lacked of a variable which takes account of the run) Alessandro

Hi everyone, Are the governing equations for the location-allocation tool available on official ArcGIS (or related) sources? I'd like to see the math behind, not really the script. Thank you very much. Alessandro

I am wondering if it is possible in ArcGIS 10.3 to customize the location-allocation network analyst or use other tools to find the location of a facility which minimize the costs and not the distances? In other words, instead of minimizing the sum of the weighted transport distances from candidate facilities to the demands to find the best location(s), I would like to: 1) associate a cost to each demand (different between the demands) 2) associate a cost to the facilities (different between the facilities) 3) associate a cost which is a function of the distance between them 4) find the location which give me the minimum of the sum of the cost Any idea? Thank you Alessandro

Hi Melita, Somehow it worked. I didn't have the the parameters to set the geographic transformation (e.g. X Y Z axis translation in case of a Geogentric Translation) so I left all the requested parameters to 0 and created this dummy transformation "IGtoITM". It happened that when I exported the map it was virtually converted to my new coordinate system but practically nothing changed but the name of the Coordinate System in the properties. BUT creating this new dummy transformation I had back the ability to choose between the Geographic Transformations in the Projections tool, so I converted my original map choosing one of the default geographic transformation and it actually worked out with no pain. Might have been a bug or something strictly related to my settings? Thanks! It's been very helpful! Alessandro

Hello Dan, It seems like they use different spheroids: TM65-IG: TM65 / Irish Grid - Ireland - EPSG:29902 IRENET95-ITM: IRENET95 / Irish Transverse Mercator - EPSG:2157 Alessandro

I'm having big problems with arctoolbox of ArcMap 10.3.1 to project almost all my layers from TM65 - Irish Grid to IRENET95 - Irish Tranverse Mercator.I always get the error 000151 and the Help is not very helpful. It looks like I can't choose the Geographic Transformation so "New Geographic Transformation" is the selected one. Any idea?? You can try with "All Ireland" dataset here http://gis.teagasc.ie/soils/downloads.php.
