Thank you very much! Yes, I looked into Oauth jsapi one- confused with how to get it to work in Enterprise. I am sorry, I should have mentioned how I was trying to achieve it. I am trying to put together a basic web app- through javascript. The python example is great- by any chance- do you have a javascript example?

What I am trying to accomplish is - edit a secured Feature table published as a featureservice in a federated server. Normally when you load a secured featureservice, it will prompt for user credentials. So, what I am trying to do is authenticate it first and then pass the credentials to that feature service (remember the session) and perform add/edit/update etc on that feature table. The Oauth2 example shows how to authenticate through ArcGIS.com which doesn't give an option to switch the login to ArcGIS enterprise. If you have an example to accomplish this- that would be great. I though this is a common scenario which everybody come across to do a basic CRUD operation against a feature layer/table. But, stuck on where to start 😞 without a sample. Also, please suggest some learning recommendations too. Thanks!

I am wondering whether any of you have a sample of creating a login for a Secured Feature Service in a Federated Server authenticated through portal? The examples provided are authenticating thru' arcgis.com and not giving an option for ArcGIS Enterprise. I a newbie- please ignore my starting trouble. Thanks

Spatial Adjustment>Attribute Transfer Tool in ArcMap transfers attributes between mapped source and target layers by mouse clicks. The disadvantage is you can do one point/line at a time. My problem is to transfer attributes from a single line (a street) to multiple selected points (selected address points). I was looking into the documentation of IAttribute Transfer: https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcobjects/latest/net/webframe.htm#IAttributeTransfer.htm However, that code is looking into automated transfer of overlaying lines. I wanted to interactively select source line and target points by clicking and transferring just as Attribute Transfer tool does (in addition to do multiple selection of points) Any pointers or sample codes to achieve this? I am really stuck.

Do I need to have map enabled, if I need to use this location result for intersecting on another feature layer and extract an attribute out of that layer? Any samples?

Any way of performing search (search widget) without displaying a map? Something like this "Find" sample: Query data without a map | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.30 When I remove the map, it didn't work. Please share your thoughts.

Awesome Robert- you are the most valuable mentor in this community. I was trying to separate it out as a widget which confused me a lot. This is easy to understand. But, what is the downside of avoiding widgeting in the dojo application? If I add more tool logic as separate js files and call it in the map without widgeting, are there any bottlenecks? Please share your thoughts. Thanks again.

I am having a hard time understanding the creation of widgets even after going thru' both Dojo and ArcGIS JS widget creation tutorial. I created a widget for webmap- but I am stuck at writing Search widget as I am not sure about how map can be pulled into this widget. Instead of posting the code for my widget, I have put together a simple basic map using a portal webmap with a search functionality (Thanks to Robert for the Floating panel layerlist) as in this fiddle: Edit fiddle - JSFiddle Could anybody please separate map and search as two different widgets which will help me understand the concept? I'll be loading the widget's config from a json file. Any pointers will be helpful!! Thanks in advance

Awesome-Thanks Robert. I was banging my head on Dijit Dialog which didn't work. I was confused about whether to use floating pane as it was marked as an experimental floating window. and Dojo has a suggestion for Dijit/Dialog.
