At first I prepared the m factor layer. To do this I calculated the slope in percent and then classified (Reclassify tool) the slope_percent layer to have m factor classes: 0-0,01% = 2 0,01-0,035% = 3 0,035-0,05% = 4 above 0,05% = 5 And then I calculated with Raster Calculator the LS factor using formula I wrote. This formula is written by ArcGIS 9.3. In ArcGIS 9.3 the syntax looks like little bit different - there are quatation marks "" around layer names instead of square brackes []. Anne

Hello! At first you have to investigate your map. Are these white areas NoData? Which values are in other layers where NoData values appear in LS layer. It seems that there is a problem with FlowAccumulation layer - there also seem to have NoData values. I have used Wischmeier and Smith's LS factor formula and it works: Pow(([FlowLength]/22.13), [m_factor] / 10)*(((Sin([Slope_degrees] / deg)*Sin([Slope_degrees] / deg))*65.41)+(Sin([Slope_degrees] / deg)*4.56)+0.065) FlowLength substitues slope length, like FlowAccumulation m factor is 0,2 for slopes less than 0.01% (slope_percent), 0,3 for slopes 0,01-0,035, 0,4 for slopes 0,035-0,05 and 0,5 for slopes over 0,05%. As the reclassify tool does not enable to give new values like 0,2 then just integer values (like 2) have to assigned and these vales are divided by 10 in formula (m_factor / 10) deg - constant, 57,296 I hope this helped, Anne

Hi everyone! (How) Can I use correlation analysis (eg ANOVA) in ArcGIS 10 (ArcInfo) to predict a quantitative dependent variable (the share of decidious forests) based on one categorical (habitat, site type) and one quantitative explanatory variable? With best regards, Anne

Hello! I need to convert polyline shapefile with roughness values (Left_rough, Right_rough) to WASP rougness map file. I have tried to use arcscript http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=13950, but it does not work. SAGA GIS is suggested to use to convert shapefiles to WASP map values, but it only converts terrain values (only one elevation field). WASP also can import dxf files (dxf2004), but I can not generate dxf file with attribute values (Left_rough, Right_rough). I use ArcGIS 10.0 (ArcInfo). Can anybody suggest anything which could help me? Thank you in advance, Anne

Thank you for the useful tips. I did not understood the part where I had to copy features again after join. But I transfered both table and shapefile to file geodatabase and used Make Query Table tool. I got a layer with attribute table where are rows for each records from 1:M table. Best, Anne

Hello! I have a map with forst cadastral units. The attribute table of this map consists of different ID numbers which cal be used to join (or relate) other tables (for instance forest types, ages, heights etc) to this map. The problem is that relationship between these tables is one-to-many (to one cadastral unit correspond many rows in thematic attribute tables). One row contains proportion number (how many % this type makes from the entire unit). I want to calculate the areas of different forest types (column tree code) and make a summarized table. Later I want to make similar tables from trees with different ages, heights etc. I cannot join all the records with the same ID to the corresponding unit. I also cannot do anything with related tables. In original table there are many million records and about 30 forest types (tree codes). I include a sample layer (metsaeraldis5.shp) with some records and a table (element5.dbf) with corresponding records. I would be very grateful if anybody could help me. With best regards, Anne

Thank you! Now I can manage. I studied also the material provided by links, but I did not notice the need for using parentheses. Best, Anne

Hello! I have problems using RasterCalculator with ArcGIS10. Raster Calculator give errors when using operators AND and OR. For example when I write "landuse" == 2 & "slope" < 5 I get an error: Executing (Raster Calculator): RasterCalculator ""landuse" == 2 & "slope" < 5" C:\Temp\3 Start Time: Thu Mar 29 17:43:04 2012 Raster(r"landuse") == 2 & Raster(r"slope") < 5 ERROR 000539: Error running expression: rcexec() <type 'exceptions.ValueError'>: The truth value of a raster is ambiguous. Failed to execute (Raster Calculator). Raster Calculator works fine when I do not use operators AND / OR. Everything worked fine in ArcGIS 9.3. Can anyone suggest how to solve the problem? In ArcGIS10 there are not anymore any alternatives to Raster Calculator either. Best, Anne
