Explorer was working fine up until computer took the Anniversary update. Now the program just hangs on the Splash Screen. Anybody else run into this issue? Thanks Al

After much troubleshooting I figured it out. I upgraded .Net SDK from 10.2.2 to 10.3 and got the same error. When you build a project in 10.1 - 10.2.x, VS uses the following file to build the .esriaddin "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Esri\ESRI.ArcGIS.AddIns.targets". After the 10.3 SDK install, ESRI removed this file and replaced it with "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Esri\ESRI.ArcGIS.AddIns.11.targets" FIX The easiest option to fix is to make a copy of ESRI.ArcGIS.AddIns.11.targets file into the same directory and rename it to: ESRI.ArcGIS.AddIns.targets This way old and new projects will build.

It was going crazy and kept popping one of these up every couple seconds. ArcGIS is currently not connected to online resources.

Thanks again for piping up. I just tried installing on a windows 7 64 bit/32 bit and Windows 8 no go. Tried creating a barebones, all defaults Explorer addin with one button and still no go. I have to click on the button before any disabling/enabling occurs. This one has me stumped. can you confirm that you are using Version 2500? I haven't tested on the earlier versions.

Hey Norm, thanks for responding. I tried multiple different conditions and I can never get it to fire. I actually already have an extension and I can't get to the button to disable it. The button isn't created until the button is clicked. To prove this, override the "New" function in your button and put a debug statement in there. For me, it doesn't get hit until the button is clicked. ' The following doesn't get hit until button is clicked. Even with the Condition in the AddIns.xml. Public Sub New() Me.Enabled = False End Sub FYI: I'm running 2500.

Hey folks, I'm trying to disable an AddIn button on Startup but no events related to the button fire until button is clicked. I tried overriding the OnUpdate event for the button and also tried using the condition="E3_ArcGISLayerSelectedCondition" in the AddIns.xml. Both of these only fire once the button is clicked, which is too late. I want it to fire on Startup. Any Ideas? Bug? Thanks Al

Thanks for the reply Chris. We're running SQL Server but this problem describes what's going. I figured out a workaround that worked for me. I first needed to delete existing pyramids and then create them by specifying the level to 10. Thanks Al

Hello, I just loaded 350GB of GeoTIFF files into SDE as a Raster Dataset. When I create pyramids using the default -1 option, it takes 22 hours of processing but when I check the levels, only ONE level is created? If I try to create 10 levels, it completes in seconds but still indicates only one level. We've been loading Rasters since 2002 without this happening. Our other raster datasets contain about 10 levels. Any thoughts? Thanks Al

Hey there, I've got a VS 2010 Solution that runs fine, however, when I bring it into Expression Blend 4 I get a Stack Trace error. I did some digging and I've got it narrowed down to one line. As soon as I add a toolkit toolbar, I get the stack trace in Design view of the XAML. Some of you might suggest references are missing but I double checked and they're all there. Again, this runs fine in VS 2010 but not in Blend. Here's the line that throws the error. If I remove this line Blend is fine. <esriToolkit:Toolbar MaxItemHeight="80" MaxItemWidth="80"/> Here's the Full XAML.

I feel pretty stupid here. It's a single click to have the window open. I was using the selection tools. hey there, After I select features, the attribute window doesn't open. However, if I create a new feature it opens up with no problems. Did anybody ever get that window to open after selecting features? Even using ESRI's edit sample, that window just doesn't open. Thanks in advance, Al

Hey Guys, Anybody know how to add a folder to the "Add-In" folder locations found in the Customize-> Add-In Manager->Options tab using .Net/ArcObjects? Even if I knew where this info is stored like in the registry or in a preferences file? I looked everywhere in the registry and folders and can't find it anywhere. Any Ideas? Thanks Al
