Good idea. I was going to suggest ST_GEOMETRY SQL functions (which is what we use) but I see you've already gone down that road.

Readers, please note the download link provided here is 404 at writing. The latest version appears to be "PerfTools (Build 258) for ArcGIS Pro 2.x and 3.x is now available for download" as at 2022-06-23. For future perftool updates: IanSims personal OneDrive and IanSims blog. Using Pro 3.1.3, yes "ZoomToBookmarks all" seems to jump to the first bookmark then choke. 'Roaming' feature works okay. Metrics View, Render View and Log View are only ones I use for performance testing and these all work fine. Thanks again to @IanSims for continuing to support this valuable project!

Just noting I had a similar experience with "webgisdr -e -f webgisdr.properties" on a single-node test ArcGIS Server I am trying to back up. I got Failed to back up the ArcGIS Server: Url: https://HOSTPATH/server. {"code":500,"messages":["Export operation failed. Failed to create the folder 'D:\\temp\\WebGISSite1698973979711\\server\\eth72rdfmyeiyefc'."],"status":"error"} to a local backup on the same machine (and also SHARED_LOCATION=D:\\temp) same drive as final backup, as it does not appear to be using the credentials of the user executing webgisdr. When I opened security on this folder it was fine. The following ArcGIS Server has been backed up successfully: Url: https://HOSTPATH/server. The backup of ArcGIS Server has completed in 00hr:00min:43sec.

Some time later... no change at 2.9.5/3.1.1 I thought feature equivalence with ArcGIS Desktop was the goal? There is still no "Disconnect" option in Pro as Desktop has.

Thanks @JayCary good to hear and thanks for explaining that further. @JohnAnderson1 is my team leader, we're tag-teaming the forums 😉 We certainly have great interest in providing feedback on Data Reviewer and other automated workflow features as these will be critical parts of our spatial editing and management process. I'll let John take the lead on Ideas.

Thanks JayCay, good to see goals coming up and Pro becoming more mature in terms of QA. Are you (Esri) able to add more detail to the blog on what 'error inspector enhancements' and 'error management' entail? Feel free to tease us with spoilers about 'smart error fixes', we can always use more automation. 😊

Thanks Kory. I confirm that updated (concurrent) LM is required at Pro 3.1 or you get this error: Error while configuring floating licence manager to an older version.

Thanks @KoryKramer for that, happy to upgrade to 3.1 as the most current version. I was just confused, as we saw the 3.0.4 release were getting ready to look at it, then it disappeared. The Pro release notes you link to discuss 3.1, and 3.0.4 is not available for download. Latest downloads for ArcGIS Pro If you 'cheat' in the URL replacing ...3.0.3 with ...3.0.4 , there's nothing there: https://my.esri.com/classic/#/downloads/ArcGIS%20Pro/3.0.4 😎 We're at 2.9.5 (production) and considering migration to 3.1 as we'd like the fix for BUG-000149637 regarding workflow manager server. Appreciate any advice you or support can give as to additional prerequisites as mentioned with licence manager and (possibly) Server 11.1.

Thanks. What happened to the scheduled 3.0.4 release? https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/release-notes.htm This page used to point at 3.0.3 (then current) but now points to 3.1. I didn't go through the entire list but it appears that 3.1 rolls up all the issues from 3.0.4 and adds new fixes, right?

Thanks @KoryKramer for investigation and clarification of how it should work. I did not know you could configure it as an admin add-in. I confirm to you Kory we are doing it the former way as part of user configuration. Great comments all round. Our ICT is not okay with us registry hacking (especially not for clients) so I don't think this will work for us. We do deploy with the awesomely acronymed MSSCCM-AC (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Application Catalog) so it possible that a .reg could be queued into an installation script. Not sure if that has changed now Pro no longer uses .msi and just has an .exe. This still has all the disadvantages @Anonymous User eloquently detailed. In addition we have raised similar questions with ICT before and they said it was extremely difficult to know where to put the registry node/keys due to a mix of hardware and software (mobile/desktop/virtual, different OS', etc) requiring excess scripting and support on their end. The documented registry edit looks stable to me though.

Sure, and we have. It still doesn't address the issue of what happens if someone who does have permission does a whoopsie, or if the folder permissions are changed for some reason beyond our control (this has happened to us in the past). We have also had users arbitrarily added to our domain group without our permission or consultation... To me the analogy is having two D's on your car gear select. One is Drive and the other is Destroy. As as long as you use the first, it's fine. Choosing the second one instantly destroys the transmission without warning (perhaps as a security procedure to stop car theft). Adding protective guards around accidentally using the other D-gear seems counterproductive to... not having it at all. Which is why it does not exist outside a Mad Max movie. I just don't understand the design of this feature, especially when Pro is touted as an enterprise level tool for multiuser-GIS organisations. To further explain our position, we use addin customisations to deliver business-critical functionality and productivity tools to ~60 users, while the tools are available to the entire organisation (~1000 staff). While the tools are currently protected as Bud suggested, the default behaviour of one person detonating the custom tools for everyone seems... unwise.

Pro should definitely show (greyed out) add-ins that are not compatible from shared folders, and that they are not being used. This information can be provided to admins as required for further action. Being able to delete them (and so easily) should not be possible by the average user when the explicit function of the feature is, "...a convenient way for many people in a workplace to use the same add-ins." I doubt very much that 'many people' would find it convenient to discover that their add-in had been quickly and invisibly removed by someone, making it unavailable to everyone. I further note that this is not the same behaviour ArcMap exhibits when it is loading add-ins from a shared folder. Managing file/folder permissions to get around this is an effective hack, but it's still a hack imho.

"With the major release of AcrPro 3.0 we see a flash of light at the end of the tunnel. However, this comes with a significant ask on the side of the system requirements...upgrade to Windows 11..." Sorry, is that mandatory? Seems to work okay.

We're working on transitioning from client-server (EGDB) to web hosted feature layer editing through Enterprise-Portal. You sure can use attribute rules on feature classes in the Data Store (wherever that is, we are using Oracle right now) but yes you have to use the hosted feature layers only to edit through the application. I believe you can actually edit the data directly but because you're required to register as branch versioned to get referenced feature layers, there are limitations. Branch Versioning documentation "Limitations of branch versioning include the following: Branch versioned datasets are not accessible in ArcMap and versions earlier than ArcGIS Pro 2.1. Most editing workflows only support accessing branch versioned datasets from your organization's portal as a web feature layer." Branch Versioning Scenarios "After registering datasets as branch versioned, editing will be completed through the feature service. Portal users will need to have access to the web feature layers and a role that includes the privilege to edit features. Geoprocessing tools that modify data can be used when directly accessing branch versioned datasets from a database connection. These tasks should be reserved for the data owner to facilitate operations such as bulk data loading."

Nice idea, this could add a lot of utility for all sorts of GIS applications with a simple feature that would not be that expensive to implement by Esri. This would offer a lot of options through customisation that the user, not vendor, does. I can see issues in validating returns, potential costly transactions resulting in performance issues and so forth, but that would be on you and your DBA in those cases. "With great power..." etc.
