Hi Rogier, You can define everything you need in the Closest Facility's layer properties. In asumption that you created your network properly (with the required cost attributes), the impedence defined in the Analysis settings tab (meters, feet etc. in your case), and the other attributes that you like to get, in the Accumulation tab. Regards, Asaf.

Just a small addition- since you will indeed have many points (at least in terms of network analysis), you may consider using ArcGIS Pro. In my experience, since everything must fit in to GP tools it is a bit more complicate then the ArcMap, but it runs better. Solve Vehicle Routing Problem—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi David, I experienced a very similar problem, and unfortunately, the Network Analyst does not support creating "weekly schedule". My solution was doubling the multiple delivers, and used specialties for differing the beginning of the week's customers than the end of the week ones. You are also welcome to look at the answers I got a couple of months ago: https://community.esri.com/thread/181601-creating-a-weekly-work-schedule#comments Asaf.

Hi Heather, Thank you very much for responding. I have thought more or less, about the same work around. As you mentioned, our main concern is about how would it damage the optimization.. We introduced the problem to the end customer, and hopefully it will be good enough for him as well. Regards, Asaf.

Hi all, I am using the VRP tool in order to create new routes for newspapers trucks. In order to allow the software to choose the best trucks mixture, I created a large "bank" of vehicles (I have a few options). My problem is with the Start depot. Since it is a printing house, I can start upload the papers at 01:30, but then only a small part of the papers are ready. It takes another 3 hours to finish the total amount. Since all the work must be finished before 06:30, what they are doing now, is to upload the trucks for the remote places first, and then slowly converge to the closer distribution points. Does anybody have an idea how can I limit the depot capacity to supply? Regards, Asaf.

Hi Heather, Thank you very much for responding. I must admit that the second option is better understood, and looks much simple to apply as well. Unfortunately, the whole project got into a small delay. Anyhow, I promise to update you as soon as I will get the chance to work on it. Asaf.

Hi, I have to find a way to create a schedule for a fleet of service vehicles which serve a few thousands customers over a week. If I had to serve each point once a week, the solution was easy (by multiplying the number of vehicles in the number of days in a week), but my problem is that some customers (let's say 15%), have to be served twice a week. An extra complication is that the twice a week must not be consecutive (for example- Monday + Thursday or Tuesday + Friday). As far as I remember, this kind of things were available in the Arc Logistics which is no longer exist. Thanks, Asaf.

For your second question, I think that the easiest solution is to copy the table from the link above (http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=e11126ea20e941bd9644046e62e2bdbe) empty it (Truncate Table), and then load your own data. Asaf.

Look at the tables diagram I attached before (try to enlarge it). The EdgeFID in the Join table is the Object ID of the Streets FC (this table relates the right profile to the corresponding street segment).

Pranav, The Historical Traffic data (with its 2 related tables) has to be in a very specific form. That means that all the names and even more important, the fields format has to be the same as you will find in the next link: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=e11126ea20e941bd9644046e62e2bdbe When that will be done, and the tables of course will be in your other network's data GDB, The "New Network Dataset" wizard will add an extra step for the Historical Data configuration. Hi, Take a look at the next diagram, it might be helpful: The Edge FCID can be found in the ArcCatalog ==> the Network's Streets Feature Class properties ==> General tab ==> three points next to the Name: Good luck, Asaf.

Hi Gustavo, In the past I had the same problem. It solved only after I changed the values in the driving direction field to upper case (ft --> FT ; tf --> TF). You might have a similar problem in your data as well. Asaf.

Hi, The best way I found for clipping a network is using the "Distributed Geodatabase" toolbar. Over there you will find a button named "Extract Data". In the advanced options of the wizard, there is an option for clipping the current display extant. Using it will clip the network perfectly so the only needed thing left to do is "build" for the net. Regards, Asaf.

Hi, In order to show addresses in a map, you have to get their coordinates, this process is called "geocoding". You can use your own data for that, by building a personal Locator, or that you can use the ArcGIS Online locator. Anyhow, this process must be done before you load the locations to any Network analysis. Asaf.

Hi Nancy, It seems like you are confusing the "Find Route" tool (from the "Tools" toolbar) and the Network Analyst extension's functionalities. In order to load locations to the Closest Facility layer, you have to open the Network Analyst window (from the Network Analyst toolbar), and then right click on the Facilities --> "Load Locations..", then you will have to chose a layer to load the facilities from. That means that if you have only an addresses table, you have to geocode them first. (P.S- you can add locations with a GP tool as well). Hope I helped, Asaf.
