We have 10.8.1 stand alone arcgis server environment and we publish imager services based off of mosaic datasets. We have encountered issue where the image service suddenly stops working randomly. As a quick fix, we stop and start the imager servie and they start working gain. we are seeing following errors. 1.When try to preview image in ArcCatalog 10.8.1 2. in the log of arcgis server with image server role where the service is published Any ideas what might cause the image services to stop working with that error and it gets fixed when we stop and start the service from purely arcgis server, mosaic perspective? the mosaic database is based off of a file gdb in a server share. We are ruling out any network/server related issues for this. This does not happen everyday, but just random occassions. Thanks!

this issue was resolved by adding some domains through firewall exceptions, particular there would be one for the datastore hosted in aws, if you are using esri basemaps for creating offline areas.

I have added the esri world basemap as an item in my enterprise portal with saved credentials for arcgis online access. Then i have created a webmap and promoted as a basemap that i can use. On this basemap, i am trying to run manage map area and i am getting this error {"paramName":"packages","dataType":"GPString","value":[{"source": "https://portal.orgdomain.com/portal/sharing/servers/ff781621fb824b918c078d0c5bb7d15b/rest/services/World_Basemap_Export_v2/VectorTileServer", "error": "{\"code\": 4, \"messageCode\": \"OffPkg_ 4\", \"message\": \"Failed to get status for item 7da84d730cb64f0fa438fc4faa7581bd error Error in adding url file item \", \"params\": {\"itemId\": \"7da84d730cb64f0fa438fc4faa7581bd\", \"error\": \"Error in adding url file item \"}}", "itemId": "7da84d730cb64f0fa438fc4faa7581bd"}]} we don't have any firewall issue, atleast it does not look like that. Any idea what it could be? I also have support ticket with esri, no luck so far.

May be this will help someone- we have finally resolved our issue by setting up another VIP to handle the backend (administrative, machine to machine) communication. After that, everything seemed to be working as normal.

We have ArcGIS Enterprise Portal 10.9.1 with HA environment configured with IWA. I have also an esri case open for this issue. We have configured the app pool for the portal web adaptors according to the guidelines here How To: Configure Integrated Windows Authentication with a highly-available portal (esri.com) We only have one external load balancer fronting the two web adaptor machines and the admin access through web adaptors are enabled true for that reason. The portals and federated arcgis servers have instances in the two web adaptor machines. Everything seems to be working fine, except for when we disable the anonymous access to the portal web adaptor instances in the web adaptor machines, the Settings page under the Organization/Settings will not load at all. It seems like it is not able to communicate to the federated servers when anonymous is disabled. Other tabs like Members, Licenses, Status, they load without any issue. We have provided fiddler saz file, screen shot of error and logs to esri support already. Thanks!

We are trying to invoke updateFeatures rest api method from a java httprequest. The service is in an arcgis enterprise server. portal url that will generate the token: https://organization.com/portal/sharing/rest/generateToken feature service sevice url for updateFeatures: https://organizationservices.com/arcgis/rest/services/DRAFT_EDIT/FeatureServer/0/updateFeatures? The token generation part is working fine. The udpate part also returns a 200 message, but the data is not updated and we are seeing "Error: Operation without query criteria is not allowed." Code Snippets are posted below. # Token Generation Part map.put(HTTPHandler.URL, https://organization.com/portal/sharing/rest/generateToken/) headers = HashMap() headers.put('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded') map.put(HTTPHandler.HTTP_HEADERPROPS, headers) data = String('username=%s&password=%s&client=%s&referer=%s&expiration=%s&f=%s' % ("username", "password", 'referer', 'https://organizationservices.com/','json' )) responseBytes = handler.invoke(map, data) response = service.tojsonobject(String(responseBytes, 'UTF-8')) accessToken = response.get('token') # Got token BASEURL = https://organizationservices.com/arcgis/rest/services/DRAFT_EDIT/FeatureServer/0/updateFeatures? url = URL(BASEURL) conn = url.openConnection() conn.setRequestMethod("POST") conn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded") conn.setRequestProperty("Accept", "text/plain") conn.setDoOutput(True) conn.setDoInput(True); conn.setUseCaches(False); conn.connect() updateattr = "[{'attributes':{'OBJECTID':24,'PNUM': 'B-999-999','INSTALLEDDATE':1920}}]" params = "{'f': 'pjson','token': " params1 = accessToken + ",'features':" + updateattr +"}" fullparams = params+ params1 postData = String.getBytes(fullparams, StandardCharsets.UTF_8) os.write(postData) os.flush() os.close();

@JonEmch The CPU and RAM are static. Page file or virtual memory is dynamic as it is being set to Automatically manage paging file size for all drives. Thanks!

We have following software installed individually on four machines 1 arcgis portal 2 federated non hosted arcgis server 3 federated hosted arcgis server 4 arcgisdatastore The issue is with the federated arcgis server, second machine. We have noticed that on panning, zooming webmaps in a desktop browser, is causing the arcgis server to slow down and eventually services don't respond. the windows service for arcgis server is terminated, while we see the arcsoc processes are still around, almost all of them, this machine has resources in terms of ram and cpu, page file space option is set to automatically grow. On the IIS event viewer application log, we are seeing these errors in particular: "Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. javaw.exe, arcsoc.exe and w3wp consumed x amount of bytes" "ArcGIS Server terminated unexpectedly, it has done this 2(tries) " This is what the error in the dmp file says: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access We currently have a case with esri support and have been providing logs and any error messages so far. If anyone has any ideas, please kindly share. Thanks!

1.A stand alone arcgis server configured through azure application proxy, using azure AD SSO preauth and is accessible from outside the network on its own. This arcgis server uses web tier authentication. 2. A second azure application proxy configured for a web application, which basically is a simple html file with code to add a tiled layer from arcgis server. The tiled layer url is the external url to the arcgis server. The arcgis server is added as trusted server and jsapi version is 4.18. 3. Accessing the web application using the external azure app proxy url, in the organization network, works fine. The map shows up. 4. Accessing the web application using the external azure app proxy url gives cors errors. If another authenticated browser session to arcgis server is opened , the application works and is able to display the tiled layer. It almost feels like when the user logs in to the web application and makes a request to the arcgis server, the authentication is not being delegated to the arcgis server. it doesn't prompt for a second credential, it just is silent. Any idea from experts in the forum, please? Thanks!
