I created a Collector map in Portal. I set a TPK basemap to say that the device already has the basemap. Since portal maps require us to have a basemap while building the map I have a basemap in the map but is not the same as the TPK I told it the device already has and will use. When I created a manage area package. I see it packaged up the basemap in the map. Why did it do this? I don't want it to use the basemap in the map. I told it to use the TPK the phone already has. How to create a map area package without it adding the maps basemap?

I am trying to build a TPK. It is a aerial basemap with some roads and labels added. Everytime I build the TPK choosing JPK and zoom 19. The basemap completes but it has only built to zoom levels Zoom 16. I have tried using IMG raster and also a enterprise geodatabase raster and same result only zoom level 16. What could be causing this to occur?

I created a map in our Enterprise Portal for offline use in the new Collector (beta) android. I created the map with a blank basemap that has tile cache to enable offline settings in the map. I then selected which TPK I wanted to use for offline (see attachment). I copied that TPK to a folder I created on the phone called ArcGIS_Collector When I open the map in the collector I do not see the TPK basemap and it is still using the blank basemap. I do not see any option within this Android beta version to add the TPK either. I only see the basemaps in the basemap gallery. Questions: 1) Does the latest Android Collector (beta) recognize TPK's or not? 2) Where are they supposed to be stored on the phone?

Hello, I am trying to load a basemap TPK from my sd card on my Android phone. I get an error when trying. "Load error, can not read the folder". Folder is named TPK I also tried a shapefile and I got the same error. I then moved the shapefile to the internal storage and still got the same error.

I am thinking that devices may need to be rooted to work. Because the devices it works on for me ARE rooted and the devices that it does not work are NOT rooted. I will root a device its not working on and report back.

Apparently I have done the impossible On my android device, I have an ArcGIS_Collector folder on the internal storage and on the "actual" MicroSD card. Take your TPK's and place it into the ArcGIS_Collector on the SD card. Below you see my SD card from within Windows explorer. After you use Collector those tpks disappear and are extracted into the basemaps folder by collector. And below you can see I have the Arc_Collector Folder on the internal and external card. Turn phone off, then put the microSD card in. Turn phone on, open collector. Choose map to download. Now look at my options for basemaps that show up on my device. The TPK's were moved to the basemaps folder on the EXTERNAL micro sd card, not the internal phone storage.

Your saying ESRI doesn't support SD card compatibility? However I am using tpk put on my micro sd card in my android phones. The problem is that the format of the sd card is fat32 which has a 4 gb limit. I have tpk's that are around 8 GB and I can't copy those to my 32 GB micro SD card. ESRI isn't the problem with supporting it, its the SD card format limit. I tried reformating to exFat and NTFS but my phone won't read the card then. I have done lots of google searching and reading for about 8 hours on trying to get around that limit and I don't see anyway to do it.
