Recently upgraded/updated to Web AppBuilder 2.17. We use a modified version of the Dart Theme which basically moves the primary widget bar from the bottom of the screen to the top. I cannot find the proper location in the source code of the Dart template to make that simple change. I suspected it was in one of the CSS files but now I'm guessing the CSS is actually generated dynamically from one of the JS files. I've done this before and remember it being simple; however, I didn't make note of it and can't figure it out now! Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Can an email field be constrained or filtered to only allow specific email address domains to be submitted? For example, the survey would allow @gmail.com and @yahoo.com but error on any other values. Is that a thing you can implement in the logic of the .xlsx file from Connect?

Thanks Graham...so Twitter and Facebook capture the custom text but LinkedIn captures the boilerplate text. Confirmed with two separate accounts. Not a huge deal...but driving our comms staff a little crazy.

I have an issue that is driving me nuts...when I share this Hub initiative - https://www.montanaforestactionplan.org - to social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) the post shows the boiler plate generic Hub site description of "Create your own initiative by combining existing applications...". I have updated this blurb to our custom text in every location I can find but this still passes through. Where are the social media pages grabbing this content and how do I change it? I've tested some other Hub sites that do not have this behavior.

Thanks Graham Hudgins...I was on a call with support this morning, did a screen share which they recorded. They are going to work on the issue from the back end. I went through the steps with them (renamed contents, groups, etc...) and they confirmed I had done everything "correctly" but that the name was persisting behind the scenes. I've created a new initiative with a name that works for now so that I can continue moving forward. Support will follow up with me on this renaming issue...and possibly document it as a bug.

Ok...this is bonkers. Hub seems to hold on to various initiative names and will not allow you to spin up new initiatives even if the same/similar initiatives and all related assets have been deleted. My spidey sense is telling me there are a lot of components behind the scenes of Hub that we don't have access to through the UI (new and old). I'll fire up some support tickets but maybe somebody here can help a brother out?

Here's the scenario: Created an initiative with various pages and associated assets, let's call it "My Initiative". The Site URL setting is "myinitiative" Decided "My Initiative" has some issues with permissions, groups, etc... and I want to start over fresh, but I don't want to lose that content. I rename it to "My Initiative V1" and change the Site URL to "myinitiativev1" I try to spin up a new clean initiative called "My Initiative" but I keep getting an error that the name is already in use. Strangely so are various derivations of the name. What the what??? I've checked object settings in AGOL and the name change seems to propagate. I've looked through JSON back end and the name change seems to propagate. I can't figure out why I can't create a new initiative set with the same original name. It's as though there's something behind the scenes that is still holding on to the original name.

Good info and I was provided the same update by the Collector dev staff at the UC last week. We'll be able to adapt to this workflow and with the implementation of vector tile packages we should be another step or two forward. Thanks @Lane Case.

This particular database is heavily versioned and runs automated nightly reconcile, post, indexing and compression processes. Some of our power users have requested read-only access to the resource so that they can confirm that processes executed and the database was compressed.

How can I grant read-only (select) access to non database owner users for the SDE_Compress_Log table in SQL Server 2016 or ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.1? I've tried in both environments and the settings seem correct. That table belongs to the SDE schema, while other users belong to a different schema. Users that are in the db_owner role can see it, but those in db_datareader and/or db_datawriter roles cannot see this table.

In terms of physical distance from the data to my client...90 miles :-). In terms of trace route hops there are five hops to reach the database host. I've run SDEIntercept on both my local client and a VM inside the datacenter (1 hop to database host). For our most problematic/latent database connection, the start-to-finish time for the log file was just over 28 minutes. The same operation on the VM resulted in a start-to-finish time of 48 seconds. This is a HUGE discrepancy and my gut tells me that one of the devices I'm hopping through for the data to reach my client is significantly slowing down this process. Incidentally I'm seeing similar results with ArcGIS Pro, so that doesn't solve the problem. I've also removed the native SQL Client and installed the latest SQL ODBC driver but no dice there either!

Looking for input and/or testing ideas. We have enterprise geodatabases (SQL Server 2016) running on VMs in our data center. They vary in complexity from simple default with only a few feature classes/assets to heavily versioned with numerous feature classes/assets. When I open the properties window for an SDE connection file on my desktop there is a noticeable lag. The time is acceptable for the simpler databases but for the complex ones it takes many minutes (5, 10, or more) and sometimes I just give up. When I open the same properties window on a VM also running in the data center for the same SDE connection using the same credentials the response is very fast. Even the complex databases open in 30-40 seconds. Same version of desktop. Same license level. Everything should be apples to apples. One of the only factors I can attribute a difference to is network bandwidth. So how do I test this issue? Is there some tool (wireshark, fiddler, etc...) so I can see what's going on under the hood? Could network gear be throttling the communication to our remote offices? We're on high-speed connections. Final mention...this issue can be replicated with multiple machines and users in various office locations.
