Hello all! I want to know if it is possible to hide certain tags in the Open Street Map basemap. Ideally I would be able to hide things like picnic benches and trees etc. If this was possible I would do this in my .js code I assume? I have searched the web without success. Many thanks!

Site gave me more insight, Thank you! - But if my range slider is for time, is there a way to do a start and end? The regular slide bar works well for time ranges between 0-24. But if one wanted to know 18-07.. then there is a problem. So I would need something like start and end points for the slider. hmm..

I am trying to create a slide bar for my map. However, this slide bar needs to show a range between two defined points. So essentially a time interval. I have these examples to go off on.. Are there any more simple / easy-to-read examples out there? 1) A simple slide bar Simple slide bar I like the simplicity but I need two thumbs 2) Kind of complicated becuase it has the ability to run as a "movie" Hurricanes Two Thumbs I like that it has two thumbs but it is too complex Thanks!sliders #java scrip api

Hello! I am looking for resources for researching how to create a GUI for my web map. The idea is to have three separate buttons that, when pressed, perform the designated filter for that operation. I know how to filter the map within the code, so that step is done. If there are some examples that I could look at, sites I could visit, or personal coding advice to be given, I would much appreciate it. Thanks! EB

For example, if I have the code: featureLayer.setDefinitionExpression("TYPE='BLUE'"); Can I set multiple expressions such as TYPE='RED' and TYPE='BLUE'? If so, what is the proper syntax to do so? Thanks!

Thank you! This was extremely helpful. Yes point three was definitely the most critical. Yes the zoom was set out as far as it was becuase we are going to change the extents on the feature layer to accommodate a smaller zoom level. Much appreciated, Eric Bianchi

Hello, I am trying to implement the following rest endpoint data: http://arcgis-central.gis.vt.edu/arcgis/rest/services/vtcampusmap/ParkingSpaces/MapServer Onto my basemap. I would like to do this through ArcGIS java script. I thought that I was following all the steps correctly that I found on Feature Layer (basic) | ArcGIS API for JavaScript , but it does not want to show up. I am thinking it could be a problem with the type of layer that I am calling it? For example, it may need to be ArcGISgraphiclayer instead of FeatureLayer or something like that. Maybe it is something entirely different, but I can't understand why it is not working. My code is attached.

Hello, So I am in the process of making a map that has interactive capabilities and operates through a website. Right now I have the website, and the esri base map (open streets) is all that is on there. The website is essentially just the map. I am using the arcGIS javascript to upload the map and the coordinates and extents etc. A screen-shot is shown below. I need help with adding my layer to the map. The layer is compatible with arcGIS and esri, and I can add it the map editor, as you can see here... The rest endpoint data was obtained through a link. ->How do I add this layer to my web map? Thank you for taking time to read my query, and I appreciate any insight, help, instructions, or links that may help in my pursuit to make this work. Bonus question: *** I want the user to be able to filter the data, is there a way to make certain kind of buttons that have a predetermined filtering function, that would filter multiple things at once. Say we have a visitor, and they want to see only spots visitors could park, I want them to be able to press 1 button and have the map filter in a way that has been predetermined. So how can I get these filter options to show up on the map?

I'm at Virginia Tech, Civil engineering. I am looking into what you provided, but I have not decided on one choice yet. Also I went to Montreal last summer, I loved it there. Thanks for being so helpful. I'm sure I will have many more questions in the future.

Hello I am working on a project where I am consuming parking restriction information (in the form of an ArcGIS supported map) from a link. The idea is to have the map interactive and run on a website, so that the user could access it with their phone and filter, search, and click different options. We are working with HTML5, and javascript for the ArcGIS map. What is the best practice in accomplishing this task. This is may require a long winded answer, but if you have any resources, tutorials, etc. that may have helped you accomplish what I am trying to do then that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
