I'd like to use Font Awesome or Bootstrap Glyphicons as point text symbols. This used to work in previous versions of the API but now throws an error: "Couldn't find font glyphicons-halflings-regular. Falling back to Arial Unicode MS Regular" Here is a sample: https://codepen.io/anon/pen/eXwRvR Relevant code: const textSymbol = {
type: "text", // autocasts as new TextSymbol()
color: "#7A003C",
text: "\ue021", // glyphicon home
font: { // autocasts as new Font()
size: 36,
family: "Glyphicons Halflings"
}
}; If you change "4.9" to "4.10" on line 17 in the codepen sample, it will break. Any ideas??

I believe the issue was that I was trying to publish from the latest version of Pro to an earlier version of Enterprise. I would check to see that both Pro and Enterprise are the same vintage first. Hope that helps!

This solution works by adding the code to your JavaScript and CSS, not by changing anything server side.

Ok, so I know the min and max attribute values as well as the min and max symbol sizes. I've worked out a method to find the percent X of the graphic's quantitative attribute between the attribute min and max and then find that percentage between the min and max symbol sizes. ( ( (value - attrMin) / (attrMax - attrMin)) * ( symbolMax - symbolMin) ) + symbolMin This gets close, but oddly at the min and max symbol size its off slightly. I would think that under the hood the API is doing something very similar, but again it is slightly different. Anyway, this method is a close enough approximation if others run into this.

Kind of a pain but it could be possible to use a graphics layer instead. Perhaps do a query against the feature service, get all of the features, then loop through each feature giving it the text symbol you want and adding it to the graphics layer.

I have a point feature layer that uses a unique value renderer to symbolize by a qualitative attribute and then uses the size visual variable to make the point larger or smaller based on a quantitative attribute. I'm trying to highlight the graphic when it is moused over (essentially just change the outline color). Right now I'm doing a hittest on the view's pointer-move event and then if there's a graphic, I attempt to highlight it (I'm actually cloning the graphic, giving it a new symbol, and adding it to a separate graphicslayer). Because the layer is symbolized with a renderer, the graphic that is returned via the hittest has a symbol property of null. So, how do I figure out the size the symbol needs to be? I tried using the renderer's getUniqueValueInfo method, but returns the same size for all graphics I pass to it. Any ideas??

I'm trying to publish a GP service but I'm getting the error 00068 about a broken project data source. The thing is the script creates the project data source that Pro believes is missing. The script then does some stuff to populate the table using an insert cursor before copying the table to the location specified by the user: ### ...
route = arcpy.GetParameterAsText(0)
outTable = arcpy.GetParameterAsText(1)
arcpy.CreateTable_management('in_memory', 'outTable')
## do some stuff to populate the table
arcpy.CopyRows_management('in_memory/outTable', outTable) Any ideas on how to get around this?

6 years later and in Pro I'm also getting the 00068 error. My script creates an intermediate table using the in_memory workspace: arcpy.CreateTable_management('in_memory', 'outTable') Then the script does some things to populate the table, then copies the table. The in_memory/table triggers the "broken project data source" but the table is not a project data source. It's created by the script!! I save other intermediate outputs into the in_memory workspace as well, but these do not trigger the error. Any ideas? So far my attempts at a work around have failed.

I've set up a feature layer with a popup and added it to my map. I'm also making the feature layer searchable via the search widget. When I search and select a result, the popup opens, and the title is fine, but the content is missing. Here's a demo: https://codepen.io/anon/pen/dJgxVQ?editors=1000 When I search for district '2003' I get this (incorrect, no content): When I simply click on the feature, I get this (correct): When poking around in the debugger, I see that when the popup has no content, popup.selectedFeature.layer is null. What's going on here? I simply want the same popup to show up if I click the feature or search. Thanks for any help you can provide!!

the .moveItem() method does not appear to exist at 4.5. I tried using .reorder(graphic, 0). Using .indexOf(graphic) I see that indeed the graphic was moved to the 0 position in the graphics collection, but the graphicsLayer does not redraw. Any ideas?

Thanks Asrujit, I'm glad to know that I wasn't making a silly mistake. Interesting to know that it has existed since 10.2.1 and has not been fixed in 3.5 years!! #jack dangermond

I am trying to use the Alter Field geoprocessing tool to change a field name of a feature glass in a geodatabase. I'm trying to change the field from Total_Mdollars to Total_MDollars. The tool completes "successfully" but the field name remains unchanged. Anyone else having this issue? I think its a bug. The field contains values but according to the docs this should not matter when changing the field name. I've tried it in Pro, ArcMap 10.5.1, and via Python.

What you want to do is start with a point layer, and edit the point symbol. You can find some starter styles by clicking the "Style..." button. Make you edits. Then save that symbol to a style (use the burger button on the top right next to 'Format Point Symbol'. Once saved, the symbol will be available for use as a callout point symbol. Click the dropdown with the shield in the image below, then click 'more point symbols' and you'll see your saved symbols.
