I create incremental numbering in a field through the simple calculation: [OBJECTID] - ( <First[OBJECTID] - starting#>) But would like to do the reverse as well, create a script to incrementally decrease values by increment of 1, but with a first Objectid - a starting number (input by myself).

Our IT Dept. stated they had made no changes/updates at that time. So, shall I install SQL Database Manager on my pc to test? Thank you.

We are running ArcMap Desktop 10.5.1, and connect to enterprise geodatabases through SQL Server ArcGIS Server 10.7. Up until recently we were all able to work in the geodatabases over Cisco VPN. On May 7th, only two out of four of us can no longer open the geodatabase connections, nor create a new geodatabase connection to ArcGIS Server. I see no Windows Update taken place on that date, or the previous date, and can find no reason for any change in the two laptops that can no longer connect. Anyone else had this or similar problem? We are currently editing a one-to-many relationship (setup in ArcMap) between geospatial data and a non-spatial table (both within the same enterprise geodatabase). Though, I believe we may be lacking "referential integrity", because we have orphans within the table. I was looking at the online documentation here: https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.5/manage-data/relationships/deciding-between-relationship-classes-joins-and-re.htm - Would a relationship class setup in the geodatabase solve our problem with orphans? - Would database versioning have an affect on the relationship class? If so, how? - Are Global IDs necessary in an enterprise Geodatabase for a relationship class? Any help would be appreciated.

Halfway down the referenced help page though states "Caution:In all cases of 1:M joins, only the first matching record is joined and displayed in the layer's attribute table."

Is there another possible way to run nightly python scripts on Microsoft Server other than Windows Task Scheduler (such as the method available from ESRI below), possibly with SQL Manager and a Batch script? We were running via Task Scheduler, but it stopped working about a month back. http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/analyze/executing-tools/scheduling-a-python-script-to-run-at-prescribed-times.htm

Tim, would you mind posting your script? I did this in the past, and posted to the ESRI forums, but was removed with the archives I guess. Thank you, Barry Guidry

Yes, Mr. Bakker, the coordinate systems are all the same. I did apply a slightly different xy tolerance to each to make sure it would pick up lines slightly outside of the polygon boundaries. The three lines indicate the input and two outputs (from two polygon sets applied to the input polyline). It makes no sense to me though that the output results in lines being moved / offset horizontally from the original (input polylines). I could understand if it may leave out some line segments, based on the xy tolerance applied, but that seems to me all that should be modified in the topology. Thank you. Barry

Has anyone ever had this problem? When using the Intersect tool, on the same polyline data and two different polygon data sets, the output polylines differ in areas (see attachment).

I am not a part of our IT Department, and therefore, upgrades are quite an ordeal here. Would prefer not to upgrade ArcSDE, at least to test on the QA server, if possible.

Is it possible to upgrade ArcGIS Server to 10.1, leaving ArcSDE running 10.0? Will ArcSDE 10.0 be backward compatible to ArcGIS for Server 10.1?

I am simply using the ArcGIS Server Manager 10.0 web application wizard to run a geoprocessing model from within the associated map document. So, I the model sums acreage and writes the "Acreage" table to a geodatabase at specified location. I don't see a way to have the default web application builder display the Acreage results from within the web application, though. So, what I did was link the table to an Excel document. I am attempting to add a Python script to the model in order to open the Excel file to display the results, but get this error in the web application geoprocessing results: Submitted. Executing... Thanks NeoGeo, but I am simply using the ArcGIS Server Manager 10.0 web application wizard. So, I got a model to basically do what I want from within the web application, but only writes the "Acreage" table to a geodatabase at specified location. I don't imagine there is a way to have the default web application builder interact more with the user, though. I would prefer to have the model open the table by default as well, from within the web application. I guess you are right, that if I expect anymore I must create a custom web application with an ArcGIS API / IDE.
