I'm not a fan of AGS Pro... I guess I'm just use to Desktop. I've tried using it, but just get frustrated.

It's like pulling the rug out from under you... The old bait and switch.... It kinda feels like Netflix a few years back by raising prices 60%... See how many people it pissed off and left...they gave no warning and confused customers.... ESRI is doing the same thing in my opinion.

Other Changes to ArcGIS Online (bad ones in my opinion) New sharing workflows for public accounts???Public accounts, previously known as personal accounts, can no longer create private groups(december release),(this part was added to march release) join private or organizational groups, or share items to groups unless the items are shared with everybody (public). Existing private items in public groups will remain private; ArcGIS Online will not turn existing private items or groups public. The fact that a person with a public account can't be invited to use services in an organizational account makes no sense..... I saw no mention of this back in december.

Sounds like a lot of extra work to create the extra polygons. I'm not sure I agree with the way that is modeled. One of the reasons I don't use the local government model. We created a .asp page that references the real estate assesment table. No extra work had to be done to the parcel layer. Check out my example.... 2900 Clarendon Blvd (condo) http://gis.arlingtonva.us/gallery/map.html?webmap=700cf717476d403bb24699688170d17e

I have a few map services that I enabled security on in ArcGIS server, but they won't allow me to view them in the gallery. The funny thing is, it works on my ios device and not the pc. Any suggestions on what the cause could be? http://gis.arlingtonva.us/gallery/map.html?webmap=18a91293312d4d80aaef321bb361a40e

Hi, I am currently using a map gallery template, but am having trouble when zooming to and address. I know it has something to do with my tiled basemap. I want to be able to zoom to selection/location when I put in an address without the basemap disappearing. Is there away to Any suggestions would be appreciated. I tried changing the selected text below, but that didn't work. I ultimately would like use one of the LOD's from my rest endpoint... http://gis.arlingtonva.us/ArcGIS/rest/services/Arlington_Basemap_Plain/MapServer?f=json&pretty=true /*------------------------------------*/ // ZOOM TO LOCATION: ZOOMS MAP TO LOCATION POINT /*------------------------------------*/ function zoomToLocation(x, y, IPAccuracy){ // calculate lod var lod = 14; // set point var pt = esri.geometry.geographicToWebMercator(new esri.geometry.Point(x, y)); // IF LOCATE RESULTS if(locateResultLayer) { locateResultLayer.clear(); } else{ locateResultLayer = new esri.layers.GraphicsLayer(); map.addLayer(locateResultLayer); } var pointSymbol = new esri.symbol.PictureMarkerSymbol("graphics/ui/bluepoint-21x25.png", 21, 25).setOffset(0,12); var locationGraphic = new esri.Graphic(pt,pointSymbol); locateResultLayer.add(locationGraphic); // zoom and center map.centerAndZoom(pt,lod); }

Hi Bill, That looks really good. Nice work. The geolocation is probably zooming too far for the custom basemap. You can change the Level of detail in one of the scripts files. I should probably make it a config variable in the future. If you look in user-agent.js on like 54 you can change the lod variable to a smaller number so it doesn't zoom users in too far. function zoomToLocation(x, y, IPAccuracy){
// calculate lod
var lod = 14; Hope that helps. I've tried changed the lod variable to lower numbers, but with no luck. My data is in State Plane, I am assuming the could be an issue? Here is my rest endpoint for the tiled basemap. Is there a way to define one of the LOD's as a default zoom to location? http://gis.arlingtonva.us/ArcGIS/rest/services/Arlington_Basemap_Plain/MapServer?f=json&pretty=true
