Hi, My name is Brent and I have been working at Esri 18 years this fall. It's been a wild ride, collaborating as a Product Engineer with various teams on the Software Products side of the business. Reading a post from Rosemary, it occurred to me when I was starting my career at Esri back in the olden days when we drove vehicles which burnt hydrocarbons and iPods existed (and had physical click wheels) I could have really benefitted from a mentor who I wasn't working with directly, knew Esri and had connections throughout the business. So I guess that's what I'm offering up. Happy to meet at a cadence of your choosing, pretty flexible on the format. I work out of our Portland, Maine office so would have to be virtual but am in Redlands 2-3 times a year also. If your interested hit me up on Teams or just shoot me an email at bpierce@esri.com. Thanks!

@slach , Navigator should only reroute if the driver physically leaves the route in a significant way. The app builds in a tolerance which will keep the driver's location snapped to the current route until they are roughly 10' -15' off the route then triggering the app to generate a new route to the next waypoint along the original route and if the driver continues to stay off the new route a new route will be generated to the next unvisited stop. We need snapping and a tolerance to account for wandering GPS position as well as some multipath issues when in large cities but that's a whole other thread. Are there specific places in the data where this happens consistently or frequently? Thanks, -Brent

We appreciate the feedback on the limitations of the Amazon App Store approach. We are working closely with both Microsoft and Amazon and will certainly take this feedback to them. As of this writing the only way to get the Windows Subsystem for Android installed on a Windows 11 device is through the Amazon App Store but it is still very early days for this technology. The hopes for this beta testing session is for those willing and/or able to install the Android Subsystem for Windows on their Windows 11 deployments they could give us feedback on how the Field Maps app meets their workflow needs. Still many details to be worked out so greatly appreciate the candid feedback.

@ScottFedak2085 we are working on an updated version of Navigator on the Android and iOS platform currently. This release should address a number of bugs as well as support all the different permutations of locators that the platform supports. Too early to tell when we will be able to release but it's certainly something we should be able to get out in the fall.

Hi Reno, We are testing Field Maps in Windows 11 environments right now and are hoping to certify Field Maps in this environment later in the year. Thanks for your interest. It's a fast evolving story from Microsoft be we are working closely with them to make sure we can provide the best possible experience to Field Maps users on Windows. Please email bpierce@esri.com with the best contact email for the beta program. Our team would love to work with you in beta testing. -Brent

@KaraUtter Most testing has been done on the MS surface line of devices, but as we continue to test we will expand out to different hardware manufacturers and vendors. As @Anonymous User mentions, Windows 11, like all previous versions of Windows, does have it's own hardware requirements.

@KaraUtter, On the Field Maps team we have been prototyping and testing the Android version of Field Maps running on the earliest versions of the Windows 11 Insider Preview builds. The results have been very promising and our long term goal to to make the Field Maps available through the Amazon App Store so it could be deployed directly on Windows 11 devices. It's a little too early to speculate when this will be available, but recently versions of Windows11 which support the Windows Subsystem for Android, are generally available outside of the insider program, we are in a pretty good spot. There will definitely be some more announcements on this topic later in the year. -Brent

Hi @TobiasFimpel1 , Good questions. Field Maps does not require any of the different indoors license levels at all. What Field Maps requires is for the floor information to be in the webmap's JSON. The best tools to configure the floor properties of a webmap are in ArcGIS Pro and those tools do require a user with the Indoors Pro User Type Extension. @Will_Isley on the indoors team should be able to provide more information here. Hope this helps, -Brent

xpost from a similar thread on the early adopter site as some might not have seen this reply Hi Levi, Really what's changed is how indoors/floor aware information is stored in a webmap. We wanted to make this less fragile from an implementation perspective and also wanted to offer a level of flexibility to work with other data models. In short, you will need to configure/alter the older webmaps through Pro to declare specific aspects to the data model. This is a good short read which explains the tools and workflow: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/indoors/configure-floor-aware-maps.htm. More specifically, you can open your existing webmaps in Pro and update the map properties to declare which feature classes contain "Facility", "Site" and "Floor" information and for each floor aware feature layer in the map, you just have to adjust the layer properties to declare which field is acting as the floor identifier, explained here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/indoors/configure-floor-aware-layers.htm This makes Field Maps and ArcGIS much more flexible because now we can work with any feature class or feature service as long as the appropriate fields are present. Same holds for the floor ID fields. You will need an Indoors Pro extension in order to be able to use these tools. The bonus is this extension also opens up the floor picker in Pro as well as a number of other tools which will help you maintain your indoors/facility data moving forward. We can certainly work with you and your account manager to get a trial extension setup to make sure this meets your needs. Hope this helps, -Brent
