Are you using the latest BA 2018 data or something older? Not that I know how to answer you, but anyone at ESRI is going to want to know what version of the data you're on. Assuming you're using BA desktop.

Thanks for the tip Kyle! I've never used the dissolve gp tool, but will give it a go next time. I ended up creating a BA study area so that all the zips were one whole boundary and it worked for me.

Hey All, I'm trying to append data to a "whole layer." I created a trade area using standard geographies that includes 8 zip codes. The attribute table of that trade area has 8 rows of data, 1 for each zip. When I use append data to add some demographic variables and then finish, it creates a new layer with 8 rows of data + the appended data as expected. My question is this: Is there a way for that data to be aggregated together? I need the 8 zip codes, which all touch each other, to be treated more like a whole layer trade area, so that if I'm appending population, for instance, I'll get the population of that whole trade area instead of the population per 8 zip codes. thanks for any help!

I'm wondering if anyone is having issues with the 2018/2023 desktop data? I have uninstalled and re-installed and I can't even run a simple BA report without getting an error. One thing I noticed was that my output data folder doesn't have "Data Collections_USA_ESRI_2018" and I'm wondering if that is the source of a lot of my errors? **I do have a ticket open for this**

I'm wondering if anyone else can reproduce this error? I'm running ArcMap 10.6.1 with BA 10.6.1 and 2018 data. When trying to create a drive time report I'm getting an unhandled exception in BA. I can produce the BA drive time map layer, but when trying to create the report it throws the error.

Hi All, I've got a spatial join question and I hope it makes sense. I've got a set of 8 block groups and I want to know what county they are inside. When I do a spatial join (intersect/one-to-one), I'm getting an output of 8 block groups back, but the county is not correct. 6 of the block groups should be in Yuma County, CO but I'm getting counties that should be in Yuma county saying that they are in a county that is next door. Any idea how I can fix this or what I'm doing wrong? I opened a ticket with ESRI just now and the analyst worked on it for almost an hour and couldn't figure it out. He tried a bunch of different spatial joins, etc.

Thanks so much Darren! I must admit, however, that I'm not much of a programmer and model builder is the extent of my programming in ArcMap so far. Could you break this down a little more for me? I understand that if I've already created target groups that there is a targetgroup.xml file that is created in C:\My Output Data\Projects\... Are you saying that in the bold text above that I can replace SegmentationClusters="'Top Tier';'Profesional Pride';Boomburbs" with the path to my .xml file? Also, would I just save this as a stand alone python script and run it alone in something like IDLE? Like I said, I have some knowledge, but this would really be my first time working hands on with a python script. Thanks for teaching me.

Thanks Darren, Yes, I've used the Iterate Field Values tool already in one of my models. I'm now looking to automate the creation of Target Penetration Maps, but the "Segmentation Penetration Map" Tool seems to be missing the ability for me to add my own target groups. I could use some help with that now. For instance, in the Target Penetration Map Wizard, you can select a target group and it will map your core and Developmental segments. The toolbox won't let me choose a target group that already exists. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Thanks Praveen. I've begun work on this and have been successful so far. I ended up using the "Iterate Feature Classes" Iterator and it's working for me.
