Hi all, Server 10.1 sp1, win2008r2, vmware, site has 3 servers in 2 clusters. I am trying to move our config-store from one network share to another using Server Manager. It tells me it is 'Copying site configurations to the new configuration store'. Then, after a while, I get an error saying 'Another administrative operation is currently accessing the store. Please try again later.' Error code in the log is 6540 - Failed to update the config store... mmhm... helpful... I have tried again later quite a few times... with services started and stopped - always the same error. Most of the config-store files/folders do seem to get copied ok but can't be 100% sure of that. Anyone else had this happening? Any ideas how to fix? What am I missing? Thanks, Arth. I too am experiencing this exact same issue. Trying to move the configuration store and am receiving the error "name is null" after a while. It appears like it copies the files alright to the new destination, however it does not complete successfully and the configuration path is never changes. We are running a single GIS server (not clustered) and I have even tried setting the configuration path to "C:\arcgisserver\config-store" and receive the same error. Help is appreciated if anybody has overcome this issue!

I am currently running a multi-server ArcGIS Server 10.2 Cluster (2 Web-Adaptors, 2 GIS Servers) and am trying to add a Linux server running ArcGIS 10.2 to the existing cluster. I have installed ArcGIS Server 10.2 on a new linux machine successfully but am trying to join the existing ArcGIS Cluster via the web interface and am receiving an error because the Linux Server can't connect to the shared samba folder with the registered data sources and arcgis server configuration files. My Windows Servers have no problems connecting during this step because we have setup the arcgis user accounts to have matching credentials (permitting access automagically). Error I am receiving: Failed to join the site 'http://XXXXXX:6080/arcgis/admin/'. Server machine 'http://XXXXXX:6080/arcgis/admin//machines/register' returned an error. 'Failed to register the server machine 'XXXXXX'. Machine 'XXXXXX' cannot access 'AGS-RAID DATA', '\\ags-raid\arcgisserver\', '\\ags-raid\data\' data store(s) registered with the site. Please ensure that the ArcGIS Server account has read and write access to the data store(s).' Current Site Config: Type Location Configuration Store \\ags-raid\arcgisserver\config-store Cache \\ags-raid\arcgisserver\directories\arcgiscache Jobs \\ags-raid\arcgisserver\directories\arcgisjobs Output \\ags-raid\arcgisserver\directories\arcgisoutput System \\ags-raid\arcgisserver\directories\arcgissystem I am almost certain this is an issue with Linux + SMB. My next step was to try creating a user 'arcgis' with credentials that match the arcgis user in the existing ArcGIS Server instances and trying to run/config ArcGIS Server running as the arcgis user instead of root. If someone has already experienced this issue and has a solution, any information would be much appreciated!!

This is an old thread but we recently are becoming more interested in the Local Government Information Model (LGIM). The next big project for our UCSB Interactive Campus Map (ICM) will be to add routing/directions. Before we migrate our data to the LGIM, I want to make sure that it can support multi-modal routing on the related features in the LGIM datasets (walking, biking, driving). Any resources / examples of how routing is accomplished with the LGIM would be very helpful, thanks!

I am working to make our map user interface into a responsive design and we've designed how we want to do it but have encountered a major issue along the way.. Web URL: http://map.geog.ucsb.edu/ For our mobile version, we have a sidebar that can be open/closed depending on the users preference. The map functions perfectly on load when loaded from a desktop browser or a mobile browser. Users can zoom in/out and click on features to bring up the infowindow. The issue: The issue only happens on mobile mobile device browsers - confirmed in Chrome and Safari running on iPhone 4 (iOS 4), iPhone 5 (iOS6), and Nexus 7 (4.2.1). When a user clicks the "Hide Menu" button on the left side the map will no longer zoom / refresh normally and onClick events on the map are not recognized. If the user reloads the page and tries zooming/clicking on features WITHOUT selecting anything else, the map works as intended until an element other than the map is focused, then the bug "happens.". I do not know where to start with this issue and would appreciate any help if possible! Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, We are looking to migrate our unorganized campus data (shapefiles) into a structured data model that supports routing (and potentially other capabilities). We've been introduced to the Local Government Information model at the ESRI user conference and are starting to do our research and find the best solution for our application. Our first concern is that the Local Government Model does not have the appropriate attributes to support multi-modal routing (Oneway paths, Twoway paths, Turn Restrictions, Elevators and Indoor stairways for ADA routing, etc..). I find it hard to believe that such a robust data model doesn't have the functionality to support routing and was hoping on getting some insight into this. Any resources or help regarding this would be much appreciated!! Thanks!

Hi, I am working on the UCSB Interactive Campus Map (http://map.geog.ucsb.edu/v1.5/) and I had an idea to move the legend from the AccordianContainer on the left to a floating DIV that is always visible when a layer is loaded. Some of my layers have a long list of layers that appear in the legend (http://map.geog.ucsb.edu/v1.5/?xmin=-13341227.05393&ymin=4084362.42909&xmax=-13340876.48031&ymax=4084639.71298&activelayer=floor1). I was hoping there was some way to format the legend and possibly have multiple columns or have each feature listed horizontally versus vertically. Any suggestions / resources on how to do this would be much appreciated!

Admin This was a similar error to what I was receiving when moving some of the other Directories.... "ArcGIS Server Site is currently being configured by another process. Please try again later." Eventually after trying again later it worked but it has taken more then 24hrs to get these directories moved without error.

I have been referencing the Dynamic Legend Sample as a foundation for my web map but am having some issues making the slight change I need. In the sample, the two layers can be selected using checkboxes - enabling both to be visible at the same time. Instead, I want a dropdown to show the selectable layers so that only one layer can be visible at a time and the legend will match the activated layer. This is what I currently have: http://map.geog.ucsb.edu/CampusFlora/v2/visibleLayers.html I feel as if I am very close to getting this figured out but I just can't wrap my head around it - my javascript is so-so and my dojo is even less impressive.. Any help would be much appreciated!! I have attached my source code to this post for future reference (.zip)

Solved this issue after some searching... Perhaps the error should reference the help topic that contains the solution? http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Tutorial_Getting_started_with_geodatabases_in_PostgreSQL/002p000000t4000000/ SOLUTION: Place the ST_Geometry libraries in the PostgreSQL lib directory Geodatabase creation in PostgreSQL relies on the presence of the ST_Geometry library. You must place the appropriate library in the lib directory where PostgreSQL is installed before you can create a geodatabase. ST_Geometry libraries can be found in the DatabaseSupport folder of your ArcGIS client installation. Since this tutorial assumes your PostgreSQL installation is on a Windows server, you will use the ST_Geometry library found in the Windows64 folder. Steps: In Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of the Windows ST_Geometry library in your ArcGIS client installation directory. The default location for ArcGIS for Desktop on 64-bit Windows operating systems is C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop<release#>\DatabaseSupport\PostgreSQL\Windows64; on 32-bit Windows operating systems, it is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop<release#>\DatabaseSupport\PostgreSQL\Windows64. Copy st_geometry.dll from this location. Navigate to the PostgreSQL lib directory on the database server and paste the library to that location. On Windows, the default location is C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\9.0\lib.
