I think this is exactly the issue. The resolutions of my line features are indeed greater than the measured "difference" between the two. Definitely an interesting issue and one I will have to keep in mind when ArcMAP tries to lie to me again Thanks everyone.

True, it doesn't make a real difference in the work I am doing, I am simply curious as to why it happens. Both layers are using the same CRS, what do you mean by "variation of tolerance"? Thank you!

The green lines are quarter section lines. I copied the southern line and pasted it into another polyline layer (the red and black line) but it pastes just slightly offset. This is not the first time I have run into this and it is not keeping from doing the work I need to do, but it bothers me. Anyone happen to know what is going on here?

This is essentially what I discovered when I tried Derek's suggestion. I could create the app, add widgets as desired, but embedding the app within a Story Map didn't give the result I wanted. More digging and I eventually decided I would need to use the JS API and do some dev work like you mentioned. I don't know Jacasvript so that option is not available (yet! I am learning Javascript, now) and we are sticking with a single basemap, no widget. Thank you for following up on this question, Rupert! And thank you to Derek for the original app suggestion

I built my first story map and now I want to include the basemap widget but don't know how to add it. Anybody know how I can get this done? Thank you!

I would say that is probably the issue! 2008 isn't supported. We are upgrading to 2016 sometime in the next year or so, guess I will have to wait. Thanks for the help, Michael!

Of course I am going to be asked questions I don't know answers to, ha! SQL Server 2008 I believe, is this what you are asking for?

Anyone know what is causing this error or how to fix it? I am brand new to ArcGIS Pro and I am trying to connect to our existing SDE database. I have no issues with this connection in ArcMAP 10.3 and I verified my login credentials so that's not the issue. Thanks!

I will have to start looking around town more at the vegetation to see what issues we might have. We have some larger parks that might benefit from a detailed look. Thanks Kevin!

Honestly, I don't have any decent ideas! I feel like imagery can be used in so many different areas that I don't know where to start. Sorta like I know I now have a powerful a solution but don't yet know what problems I could be solving. I have a feeling more than a few people can relate. So I was just wondering if the team had any general examples of projects that have been done in the past that really helped out a community or provided some sort of solution using imagery analysis. I am a GIS tech working for the city I live in so I have pretty good access to most of the departments here...

Do you have any suggestions for small to medium-sized projects where someone could use imagery like the kind we are using in the class to benefit their local community? I want to do some volunteer work but since I am new to imagery I would love some project ideas from some imagery experts! Thanks

Thank you for the AMA! So you have time to think about it I will ask my question ahead of time: If Jack Dangermond got in a fight with one of those GIGANTIC teddy bears from Costco, who would win?

The method you describe to do this seems to be a good way to derive prominence values for peaks. It also seems like a lot of work! I think I will do some more digging on this topic because I doubt there is an existing tool within ArcMAP that can calculate these values easily, or at least with minimal input. I was hoping I could just give ArcMAP a DEM and push the "Go" button. It does not appear to be that easy. Thank you for such a great explanation, Chris!
