Yup, here's the help topic that describes how to do it in Pro: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.7/help/projects/update-data-sources.htm

It works for me if I publish it this way. In the Share as Service windows selects option 'Save a service definition file'. Then, selecting the option 'No available connection'. Then choose the location where you want to save the definition file. Use ArcCatalog to browse to the just created definition file and right click and select 'Publish as a Service'. Hope this workaround also works for you guys. Beauty! Worked at a client site where we're severely hampered with permissions, etc. at 10.2.1. Thank you!!

Does anyone know how to create a maplex abbreviation file such as .dic or .abb file that I can then import into maplex to use as a abbreviation dictionary? http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?id=4054&pid=4049&topicname=Abbreviating_and_truncating_words_to_place_more_labels

I have Arc/Info, but the maplex extension is not listed in the extensions list. Why is that? If it's not listed, then it's not installed. Go to Add or Remove Programs, select ArcGIS Desktop and then click the Change button and modify the installation to include the Maplex extension.

Sounds like the download is corrupted. Please try installing it from the ArcGIS Desktop installation disk.

I seem to be having the exact same problem, PythonWin is not listed as an option though Start>programs>python. I have downloaded the latest Python 2.6 and it is still not there. Am I looking in the wrong area? I need PythonWin! I don't believe PythonWin is installed by default, but it is available on the software installation disk. Look for the pywin32-210.win32-py2.5.exe in the Desktop/PythonWin folder.

You have to pay subscription for maplex to work. It is not a free tool. That is the reason for it being greyed out. Maplex is a separate extension, although a license for Maplex is included when you have the ArcInfo license.

There is no mention of ArcReader or the ArcGIS Publisher extension for ArcGIS Desktop being deprecated at 10, other than no longer supported ArcReader on Sun Solaris 9. Ted, What are the exact steps you are doing which reproduce this problem? I tried it and I can't repro it, but maybe I'm doing something different.

Firstly, apologies if I have posted this thread in the wrong section. I am currently working through a number of courses during the ESRI annual user licence and the geoprocessing one I am currently plodding my way through instructs me to open PythonWin through Start/Programmes instead of using ArcMap or ArcCatalogue to work through the instructions on how to use scripts. On my computer, when I got to Start/Programmes/Python 2.5 the options available to me are: IDLE (Python GUI), Module Docs, Python (command line) and Python Manuals, there is no PythonWin. I have attached a screen print of these options. If I open IDLE up, I can view the scripts, but this doesn't appear to be correct, as There is no "Run" option with a man beside it as the course is telling me to do. Any help greatly appreciated as I still haven't come to fully understand scripts and how they run, which I am trying to do through this course. Regards, I don't believe PythonWin is installed by default, but it is available on the software installation disk. Look for the pywin32-210.win32-py2.5.exe in the Desktop/PythonWin folder.
