For those of you, who come to this question and are looking for the answer, what I did was to open and start editing the county parcel fabric, I then turned on all the layers of the fabric, I then selected all the data within the city limits (and some surrounding area). Then under the Parcel Editor toolbar, there is a "Save as XML" feature. Once it was saved, I opened and started editing the Fabric in the city LGIM. Again, under the Parcel Editor toolbar, there is an "Append File" option. You can then follow the steps to find the .xml you created and it will copy all the data into the new LGIM fabric.

I have used the Parcel Fabric to create all my tax parcels, subdivisions, Lots and such. Now I want to "export" that data into the LGIM feature classes like Owner Parcel and Tax Parcel and such. Basically, how do I easily get Parcel Editing data into the Parcel Publishing Data? Thanks! Chris

The county GIS has a parcel fabric in the LGIM. The city I am working for, has its own LGIM database. I want to take the Parcel Fabric from the county LGIM and put it into the city LGIM database. I am at a loss on how to do it. I am sure this is simple but I cannot wrap my head around it. Thanks

I used the web app builder to support editing two feature services. But when I try to add a file in the web app I built it gives me an error about file type and size. I don't see where I can edit the information to make it accept the file type or the sizes I want. Any body know where I can adjust those settings?

When trying to install Server 10.2 on my desktop for testing, it gives me this message. "ArcGIS 10.2 for Server cannot be installed until the following products are upgraded to 10.2 or uninstalled." This it lists nothing. Any ideas to find out what products it is unhappy with? I have 10.2.1 desktop and 10.2 mobile installed on the computer also. Thanks Chris

That is correct. I am not getting that icon. Ok, I am idiot. You do not get the icon unless you enter an expression for it to use. I thought maybe there was a built in generic expression. Thanks for making me look over the help again.

So I just updated to 3.4 and according to the help. The search widget should now, have the option to search by attribute. But I am not seeing it in my applications. Any ideas on how I can make this work? What I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Leah, I can tell you a work around that the fabric gurus at ESRI will tell you not to do. We did it and it has been fine. Simply do multiple imports. What we did was take all the parcels that were violating the rules and exported them into new and different shapefiles so all the rules were complied to. Then we imported each shapefile (going through the whole process). In the end, you do get a fabric that will have "errors" in it but it functions just fine. And then you can fix those errors in the fabric. It is more work, but it is an option. Good Luck.

What I would do, is to ignore all the magnetic declinations, since some have it and some do not. Then at least you are on the same level. Not sure where you are located but the 10 or so degree of declination is not going to cause a big issue with accuracy over 50,000 acres. The best thing to do, would be to GPS the landmarks and then use those to create more accurate and current bearings and distances.

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Workflow_migrating_parcel_data_to_the_parcel_fabric/00wp00000055000000/ Is this the document you are following? The errors you are getting/showed would tell me that you have not properly created or named the feature classes. You should have a polygon, a polyline, and a point feature class. So, 3 feature classes. And they need to be properly named. Not sure what that is off the top of my head but is likely in the link above. Hope that helps getting you moving forward.

Sadly, my experience tells me, you are stuck redrawing the parcel. Your first option might work. But if you go to do a LSA, its likely to blow up on you. That has been my experience.

I think you are right, if you wanted to model this in the fabric, you would want to create a new parcel class. But I think this is something that would be best not kept in the fabric. Personally, if I were to track this, I would use a separate feature class. We have a couple areas like this around a river. We just leave them as is, and let the lawyers and the engineers fight over who is right.

If you have a fabric you can look at, open the Attribute Table. In it, you will find a field called Historical. When you mark a parcel as Historical, the parcel remains in the database, it just has an attribute of Historical = 1. If you do a selection box over an area where you have a historical parcel, it will be selected. In the parcel explorer window, you will can choose if you want to view the historical parcel or not. You can also make it "un" historic if you need to. In the attribute table, the parcel will have a system start date and time and a system end data and time (this being when you made it historic). Hope that helps.

Not sure on Gaps... But overlaps are easy. Export your fabric into a feature class and use topology to find the overlaps.

If you are in the US, I am guessing your best bet is to contact your local Forest Service, BLM or State Department of Lands first. This is not something that would be easy to use. Since you mentioned trying to do a study, I am guessing you are a student. If that is the case, check with your college GIS department and see if there are any Remote Sensing Students. They might be able to/have used LANDSAT data to create the polygons you are looking for. You might want to post this question in a Natural Resources or Remote Sensing forum. This one is more on tax parcels. Good Luck.
