I was trying to sync 1.6 million points from a host ArcGIS portal to a guest ArcGIS portal. I experienced a similar issue at first. Found your post, so I assumed that the publishing process on the guest portal hasn't finished yet. I waited for about 10 minutes, and the sync was completed. So I think your suspicion on the "SQLite Geodatabase that will be used for publishing a feature service" is correct. Your dataset was probably too large for AGOL to publish a hosted feature service fast enough. Anyway, thanks for sharing your case.

Thanks for your post which helped me solve a similar problem with a newly installed ArcGIS Portal. My company uses Citrix NetScaler to redirect public requests to internal web servers. I have a couple ArcGIS Portal systems that do not have this problem, but a newly installed ArcGIS Portal kept getting too many redirect errors. I spent a couple weeks to reinstall the ArcGIS Enterprise without success. It turned out that NetScaler admin put a "HTTPS to HTTP" rule for the web server of the new ArcGIS portal. That's why I kept getting too many redirect error. Once we changed the rule back to "HTTPS to HTTPS". Everything works. Again, thank you for your help. Luke

Here an update on the issue. Esri supports weren't able to resolve this issue. So we restored the Datastore server from VMWare backup. The restored Datastore works just fine. We decided to try the patch again (Installed ArcGIS Pro, ran the patch, and uninstalled ArcGIS Pro). Merry Christmas. It works this time. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Just want to give a warning on applying this patch for a multi-machine ArcGIS Enterprise environment. We are unable to publish hosted feature layer after applying this patch to our company's multi-servers ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 environment. We have been working with Esri support today and without much progress. We don't have any issue with our single-machine ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 or other standalone ArcGIS Servers. Luke

Hi, Does ArcGIS Experience Builder or ArcGIS Dashboards have (or plan to have) a multi-level dropdown layer selector widget? Here is an example site. We got the idea from a Rice University website and created this page with some JavaScript codes. It works, but it is quite a hassle to update the switch layer list. It would be great if I can create a similar app in AGO. https://mycity.houstontx.gov/myrsvi/cohSVImapping.html This multi-level selector allows users to switch between different layers. This selector is different from the selector on the Dashboard. The selector on the Dashboard filters the same layer. Thanks. Luke

Figured out what was the problem - every time I changed the feature layer, a new map is created. That was the issue. "Zoom to" on the popup window is working now. I got some hints from a Rice Kinder dashboard page. Thanks.

Issue: "Zoom-to" button on Popup hung after switch to a different feature layer I am working on a lightweight map viewer prototype which is configurable through a XML file. The map viewer uses HTML multi-level Select to switch between different feature layers. The XML file includes feature layer information, URLs, as well as popup contents. The main goal is to allow non-GIS web designers to embed this map viewer on their webpages. Anyway, most functions seem to work on the prototype. There is one big issue - "Zoom-to" button on Popup hung after I switch to a different feature layer. The code is on CodePen (https://codepen.io/ohiochuang/pen/OJMEWXr). Here is how to reproduce the problem. Select a category, and select an indicator. A feature layer should show up. Click a polygon on the layer. A popup should show up. Click the "Zoom-to" button on the popup. The map will zoom into the selected area. Select a different indicator. A different feature layer should show up. Click a polygon on the new layer. A popup should show up. But this time, the "Zoom-to" button is spinning and hung. My guess is the viewer get confused about the map extents of the second feature layer. I'm not really sure what to do. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Luke

Yes. this makes sense. I've been learning something new every day with Portal configuration. There're so many hidden features in Portal. I will try it on my portal. Thank you very much.

This issue may be fixed for Explorer, but not for ArcGIS Workforce iOS client. The current iOS Workforce version is still 17.0.1. Its release Date is December 15, 2017.

Just an idea. I wonder if it is possible to use Arcade to create a custom expression that changes unwanted item value to zero (or NULL). This could act as a pseudo-filter.

Hi, I assumed you are trying to import your organization's wildcard certificate into your portal machine. You don't need to do that. Your organization should have an external reverse proxy (such as Apache Tomcat or Citrix Netscaler). The reverse proxy can redirect (transfer) an external URL to your internal Portal URL. That's all you need. Here are a couple Esri reverse proxy documents. Hope this help. Configure your portal to use a reverse proxy server—Portal for ArcGIS (10.8) | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise Configure your portal to use a forward proxy server—Portal for ArcGIS (10.8) | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise Luke

What is the correct way to setup Citrix Netscaler with ArcGIS Enterprise base deployment for public access? Here is my setting: ArcGIS Enterprise base deployment: Web adapter, portal, hosting ArcGIS Server, datastore all in one single VM. a web adapter "gisportal" for ArcGIS Portal a web adapter "gisserver" for ArcGIS hosting server an internal URL - example https://servername.ad_domain.lcl a public URL - example https://gis.companyname.com a Citrix Netscaler redirect that maps the public URL to the internal URL a DMZ DNS entry to map the public IP to the public URL Authentication through company active directory No surprise. All portal functions work fine if I use the internal URL within company network. But for an external request using the public URL "https://gis.companyname.com/gisportal", that's a different story. It does show the portal home page correctly. I can navigate the portal without problem. Opening a feature/image layer or image layer does not work. The URL box in the layer description page shows the internal URL (something like https://servername.ad_domain.lcl/gisserver/...) Travis S. from Esri pointed me to an Esri article "Configure your portal to use a reverse proxy server". https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/using-a-reverse-proxy-server-with-portal-for-arcgis.htm I followed the instruction on the document, Add Portal for ArcGIS to your reverse proxy server -> already done in Netscaler Add ArcGIS Web Adaptor to proxy server directives -> already done in Netscaler Set the WebContextURL property -> I made those changes for both the Portal and the hosting server. Add a X-Forwarded-Host header to your proxy -> Our Netscaler admin was confused about this item. He added a X-Forwarded-Host in a header config page Netscaler. After those changes, I'm still having the same issue with the portal from the Internet. I think the reason is the article is for Apache Reverse Proxy, not for Citrix Netscaler. Anyway, our Netscaler guy came up with a workaround solution. First, he added a Netscaler policy that will replace the internal URL with the public URL on the page HEADER. He then added a second Netscaler policy that replaces the internal URL with the public URL on the page BODY. I'm able to access all ArcGIS portal contents from the Internet now. I'm able to add hosted feature layers and run analysis tools. (BTW, I removed WebContextURL changes from both the portal and the hosting server.) Still, there are two issues: The page response time is slower. I cannot save or update content on the following pages via the Public URL - ArcGIS Portal > Organization > Settings > General - ArcGIS Portal > Organization > Settings > Home - Any of pages in ArcGIS Sites I am able to save/update the same pages with the internal URL. I can live with those two issues for now. But just want to know if there is a better way to set up reverse proxy on Netscaler for ArcGIS Portal. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Luke

Oops. I authorized the one and only ArcGIS Monitor license for my company on my workstation for testing purpose. The test didn't work out. Anyway, I do need to return this license to Esri. My question is how can I de-authorize (or release) this license back to my.esri.com? I don't find any documentation on this topic. Do I just uninstall ArcGIS Monitor from my computer? I doubt the uninstallation process will return the license. On ArcGIS Desktop, there is a command prompt option to de-authorize a license. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. One more question, does EDN subscription allow me to run a test ArcGIS Monitor on my laptop? Thanks. Luke
