Chris, Thank you for your prompt response. I will upgrade to 3.2 to check these changes because that would appear to be the best solution. With regards to the histogram not working for the full dataset in Pro3.1: Based on your comments, I ran some tests. This is a database view. The histogram appears in full on some other fields that are double field types. However, it does not work on the fields in this layer that are of the type LONG (FairMKTVAL is one of these) for this layer with 82,000 records. We have another database view with the same underlying data but limited to only a few hundred records. The histogram on the smaller set of records WILL work on FairMKTVAL!! When I used Data Engineering on the 82K record layer to see the total FAIRMKTVAL, it is 27,923,805,589 which exceeds the highest value that can be in a LONG integer type. Perhaps this is the reason the histogram will not appear for this layer in 3.1???? I'll post if the upgrade to 3.2 fixes the issue and report if it doesn't. Thanks, carmen

I have seen a few posts about this and I would like to verify this fact before I really whine to Esri about this change. Yes, our main Enterprise geodatabases are stored in SQL Server 2019. We have just upgraded all of our users to Pro 3.1 from Pro 2.9. All except one machine, which thank goodness, helped proved this case. We consistently have used (at 2.9) the super-convenient "right click on a field name and choose Statistics" option to display quick statistics for selected features. It is very quick and convenient. Example at 2.9 with Selected statistics highlighted in yellow: Statistics on selected records in 2.9 Pro using Enterprise gDB. But within Pro 3.1, same data, same task and this is what appears when I use the same super convenient "Statistics" option when right clicking on a field. Nothing for Selected Records and only Median for the dataset. Chart is non-existent but I don't really care about the Chart. We just want the quick statistics. Statistics on selected records in Pro 3.1 using Enterprise GDB Is THIS REALLY TRUE? That we cannot get quick statistics on selected records because we use an Enterprise GDB????? Yes, I have seen other posts. I have seen this: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/analysis/geoprocessing/charts/enterprise-database-and-cloud-data-warehouse-support.htm and this: https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-bypass-limitations-for-charts-using-data-from-en-000027747 (who wants to go change a registry setting??). Yes, I see the Data Engineering option but why take away our super-convenient right click for statistics? Plus, now we have to train all our users for the "new way" when using anything in the Enterprise GDB (by the way, it works perfectly fine on an exported file geodatabase). This option appears to be removed to "optimize performance for charts". Well, it slows down our performance because we can't just right click and choose "Statistics" to answer our questions. Anyway, if this change is really "true" and not some lingering bug, please let me know. Thanks

Hi all, We are using Pro 2.9.5 and attempting to move all the City ArcMap users to Pro. We have created a couple of our own Storymaps and other linkable items that provides additional details about Pro workflows specific to the City of Greenville for our users. It would be nice if we could add these links to the resources area on the Pro start page (below). Is there any way to do this? Thanks,

Hi Greg, Would you please let me know what version of Pro you were using? Tests we just ran were very convincing to our Network guy. He is asking us to upgrade to 2.9.5 (we are at 2.9.1). We don't want to move to 3.x yet. I am curious which version you are at. I am also keeping Esri Tech Support informed of the progress because it is truly something to do with "import arcpy" and CiscoAMp/Secure Endpoint (whichever is the real name). But yes, the intermittency is super baffling to me as well. We have been struggling with this for about 3 months as well. Thanks, Carmen

Thank you Greg. I sent this information to IT and they didn't think this was the issue (those executables being whitelisted). IT has agreed to do a test disable of CiscoAmp (not sure this is totally correct terminology) for a couple hours while I run my test scripts every 5 minutes during that time. If this is NOT the issue, we should see a failure pretty quickly based on our experience. I have a call in to Esri tech support as well but we have gotten to the point where they are saying it is out of their hands. It is so bizarre how it will run fine some times, but not on others for no obvious reason. Thanks, Carmen

Florian, I sent you a private message but perhaps you never received it. I would like to find out if your organization determine what it was with CiscoAmp that was causing the problem? Were you ever able to fix the problem or did you have to add the extra DOS code to every batch file that "retries to run the batch file after a pause?"

Continued python script sadness. The above security policy was already set for our service account we use. ☹️

James, Thank you for posting this. I see you added this since I first looked at this post. We have been battling this same exact thing since converting MANY python scripts to 3. The intermittent-ness is driving us nuts. I have submitted to Esri and they are basically saying it is out of their wheelhouse. I ran tests with very basic scripts with nothing but import commands. The one without "arcpy" ran constantly without fail. The one with "import arcpy" ran 2/3 of the time. I have yet to call IT and have them check the policy, but I want to thank you for updating this post. You have given me one more thing to try...... This has been driving me bonkers. We went from never having to monitor these tasks when using 2.7 to having to access the servers EVERYDAY in task scheduler to determine what didn't run. When you have 20-30 scripts running nightly on a few servers, that is a lot more overhead for supposedly converting to something "better". I'll repost if this is the solution for us. I'm just happy to have something else to try!

Molly, I am experiencing the same issue and we have named our connections using nearly the same protocol as you since 2006 or so. I don't want to change the connection strings because they are in an awful lot of python scripts. A little annoying when you are first trying to setup a bunch of new connections in Catalog. I have had to get around it by closing Pro, accessing the folder containing the connections string, renaming it directly and then reopening Pro. In all cases, it seemed to truncate the rename to just <servername>.<GDBname>.sde instead of what I tried to use which was <servername>.<GDBname>.<username>.sde

I just ran into this missing option today. We, too, need the Clear option for projections in Pro. I use this option like most of the others - a tool to "determine what projection/coordinate system are these coordinates REALLY in". For us, we sometimes receive data that has projection info set to one datum when really it is another datum. In other words, someone has used the define projection tool and defined it as one datum when it really isn't. (for SC is it HARN vs. not HARN which is not noticeable at small scales but is at large scales). We rarely receive "unknowns" anymore. I have run into quite a few people in GIS who do not have any experience with projections/transformations. In fact, I was about to train someone in GIS on how to identify these issues with incoming data. I guess I will have to use ArcMAP! We are never trying to use the Clear option for anything but data exploration to determine if there are projection issues. I upvoted the idea. Thanks, Carmen

Hi all, I am just starting to work with Experience Builder so forgive me if this is a rudimentary question. In the basic list widget and adding dynamic content, should I be able to see and select the custom arcade expressions that I have configured for the popups for the layer in the web map? If so, could someone tell or a screenshot of where I should see them (because I am not). Note: the layer is being pulled from our ArcGIS server (map service). Not a portal, just a plain ArcGIS server map service. Thanks, Carmen

I wanted to try this as an initial capture of guardrail locations for City owned/maintained streets with just a basic condition attribute for this "quick capture". For the "POOR - needs immediate repair" features, I wanted the user to attach a photo of the situation. In this case, the photo could just be attached to the line and not anywhere specific on the line. I realize that we could have a separate point feature class editable in the same QuickCapture project where someone could take the picture and associate it with the point, but that would complicate what was going to be so nice and easy!! Also - I didn't see it mentioned in the documentation about not being able to associate photos to lines or polygons. Please add this to the documenation. I was wondering/researching for quite a while as to WHY the "Add photo" option wasn't showing up for my layer. Carmen
