This looks promising. I will give this a try later today, thank you!

Thanks Katherine. I did see that post, but I'm kind of a lazybones and didn't want to set up an expression for each field, so I was hoping for something easier. This seems like it could work though if nothing else comes up. Thanks!

Hello, I have a layer in a web map that has about 30 fields in it, and I'd like to show only those fields that do not show NULL values. As shown in the screenshot below, the ideal outcome is to show only the field names and values that have a value, so there aren't a bunch of blank records. Full disclosure...programming is not my strong suite! I've been poking around with google searches on how to use Arcade to filter out empty values from an array of fields, and using 'IIF' statements, but haven't quite found exactly what I'm looking for. If any of you have a custom-configured Arcade script from a web map where you filtered out the NULL values you'd be willing to share it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I am actually experiencing this issue as well. I have 4 related items (web map, web app, layer, service definition). The web map is in the root folder and I'm trying to move it into the sub-folder where the other 3 items are and I get this message: I've looked at the service URLs for all 4 items, as well as the IDs and none of them match, so not sure what the duplicate 'thing' is that's preventing me from moving my 4th item. I will try Erik's suggestion of using AGOL Assist, but want to see if there's a resolution for this issue too. Thanks, Dan

I know Callout Boxes were shown as an example, but definitely if we could do multiple leader lines that would be really clean looking and a nice function. We often need to point to several polygon fragments as that is the nature of many of our fragmented unincorporated areas.

Just got off the phone with ESRI Tech Support and confirmed that it was my ESRI Profile that got corrupted somehow (which can happen if you abruptly end a task, among other things). The solution was to close all ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap documents, rename the 'ESRI' folder under C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local & Roaming to 'ESRI_old'. After that, open ArcGIS Pro and it will create new ESRI Profile folders (you will just need to re-set your connections, template, etc.). After that it worked just fine. So, I'm marking this as answered. Thanks, Dan

Hi Tom, Yes, I tried importing an MXD into another project and getting the same results. I actually tried to access the legend properties on a non-MXD imported layout and I'm getting that behavior as well. I think a tech support call may be in order as it looks to be a bigger problem than I thought. Thanks! Dan

Hello, I am unable to access the properties of a legend after importing an ArcMap (10.5) layout into a Pro (2.3.2) layout. I deleted the old legend associated with the ArcMap Document and added a brand new one. I can see my layers but when I right-click to access the properties nothing comes up. I can only edit the formatting (even with that, I can't access any further functions for Text Symbol or Symbol by clicking the arrow on the bottom-right). I'm assuming this may be due to the fact that it was imported from ArcMap....seems like buggy behavior. Thank you, Dan

It seems as though I am unable to create a predominance map in ArcGIS Online when using a published map service using Smart Mapping. In the screenshot below I'm able to add only 3 variables and I only get the option to use the 'Relationship and Size' style. Using Arcade, I can create a predominance visualization with this rest service fine (from this ESRI Blog article). Also, if I use a hosted feature layer it seems to work as well. Just curious why it does not work with a published map service?

Thanks Kory, I've voted on this. I don't see this so much as an 'idea' though...it should just be part of the functionality of the software shouldn't it?

It seems as though the Date Modified is not showing for individual layers within a database or maps. Just using databases as an example, as you can see, I get the date modified for the databases, but not the layers. There's not many options besides just checking the box for 'More Details'. Anyone else having this problem? Is there something I'm missing??

HI Michael, I will try a similar workflow you described when I find time to do so. It's good to hear that you've logged this as a bug and it sounds like a similar situation to mine. I share your hope in that more people will report these issues to ESRI and send a message about these performance problems that a lot of us are having. Thanks, Dan

Hello, I want to re-iterate what Michael Volz just replied. I had opened a ticket last month with ESRI Premium tech support, and used the ‘Select By Location’ tool as an example in that case. The simple selection I was doing was selecting the parcels on a remote SQL Server with one district polygon – ultimately selecting a subset of about 200 parcels. In ArcMap this operation takes about 1 – 2 seconds, but in Pro it took over 8 minutes on my end. Thankfully ESRI could reproduce the error (faster than 8 minutes, but still unacceptable) and the results are below. They have logged it as a bug and will send it on to development. The issue seems to be working with any remote database….Pro is very chatty and slow in that regard. Overall, I like using Pro and use it everyday, but I agree that the performance needs work still, and this issue is preventing us (LA County) from fully switching over. Like has been said earlier in the string of this post, if we all work with Tech Support on different Geoprocessing tasks then they will get a loud and clear message that the software needs further configuration. This Select By Location task was just one example, I've had performance issues with joins, exporting to excel, spatial joins and other fairly straightforward Geoprocessing tasks. From ESRI… File Geodatabase: – ArcMap 10.6.1: Less than a second. – ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4: Less than a second. – ArcGIS Pro 2.3 Beta: Less than a second. SQL Server: – ArcMap 10.6.1: Less than a second. – ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4: 3 minutes, 45 seconds. – ArcGIS Pro 2.3 Beta: 3 minutes, 9 seconds. Oracle: – ArcMap 10.6.1: Less than two seconds. – ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4: 3 minutes, 57 seconds. – ArcGIS Pro 2.3 Beta: 3 minutes, 25 seconds. PostgreSQL: – ArcMap 10.6.1: About 3 seconds. – ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4: 1 minute, 43 seconds. – ArcGIS Pro 2.3 Beta: 1 minute, 3 seconds. Thanks, Dan
