Hi James, It looks like there was a lock that was screwing things up. I had an ArcMap window open for troubleshooting and I guess that prevented tables from functioning properly. For whatever reason spatial feature classes were unaffected. Than you for your help!

Hi James, As for my batch file all I have is : "start C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.4\python.exe E:\Script_Folder\Script_File.py" I have logging set up with print statements before and after the line where its happening (right now I'm stuck on the Frequency Analysis). I always get the print statement right before the function then it fails. Are there more specific types of log functions that would be more helpful to use in this situation?

Hello, I'm having an issue trying to automate a python script that relies heavily on arcpy/ArcGIS. I have a functioning version of the script that runs perfectly in the ArcMap Python module, that continually fails when trying to translate it to something what will run from a batch file. I'm trying to set it up so that Windows Task Scheduler can grab it. What I've come to notice is that any function that has a table as an output (Table to Table, Copy Rows, Frequency Count, ect) fails when running from the batch. I've been copying and pasting these directly into the desktop version with 100% success so it doesn't seem like there are typos. Has anyone ever run into this before? Or is there a way to automate the script to run in ArcMap rather than python.exe? I'm working on Windows Server 2012 R2. Thank you!

Thanks Chris, It turns out I was also forgetting to align scope to geometry, which I think is why everything was stretching out. But yes it was fairly entertaining generating "bat cars" hanging from the ceiling before I reversed the normals.

Hello, I'm attempting to build a parking garage rule that counts actual parking spaces created (so if you know of a rule that does this better than what I'm attempting please let me know ). I've come across two rules 1)Parking_Garage.cga (by Blake Harcourt) ("Garage"), which generates multiple stories with appropriate concrete facades, but is lacking the parking space generation I'm looking for. I'm attempting to combine this with Parking_Lot.cga (by geof7015)("Lot"), by copying all the attributes and rules into "Garage" which does a comp (f) for every story and sending the bottom face to what was the start rule for "Lot" and continuing through its process unchanged. The results range from every story having a blank white bottom face, to stretched linear splits that are supposed to be the parking spaces, streets, and medians, but all the wrong shapes (turns out its blank when the spaces are rotated 0, 90, 180, ect, but it attempts to actually make the splits when set to a rotation degree between). Does anyone know if splits act differently if the shape in question has been split earlier? It doesn't make sense to my limited programming knowledge. Here's the "Lot" rule in action: Here's the "Garage" Rule: And here's them combined:

Hi David, I was thinking along the lines of setting it as "parallel" then reversing the dimensions to make the spots wider than they are long then flipping the cars 90, but I'll figure something out. Thanks!

Hi David, I'm attempting to show an existing on street parking configuration where the spaces are at 90 degree angles to the direction of traffic. I thought I remembered in previous versions there being a parameter to rotate parking angle (although its very possible I am wrong). Is that attribute hidden somewhere in the CGA that I'm not finding, or will I have to start taking things apart to make it work the way I want? Otherwise, awesome work!

Hello, I'm trying to import and texture a large terrain into a CityEngine scene that is well larger than max terrain size. We have tiled both the DEM and the imagery and are bringing them in 1 by 1. The DEMs seem to import fine without the texture, its when we try to apply the orthoimagery we get a wide array of problems. When trying to texture with a TIFF or PNG the tiles just turn either black or white (assuming because not 8-bit?), and when converting the images to anything 8 bit in ArcGIS we are getting random rows and columns on the border of the image that are just black pixels. The 8 bit images do import probably as textures they just look awful from the previous conversions. Does anyone have any tips for overcoming these issues? Also has anyone ever encountered the "Split Raster" tool in ArcGIS running but not outputting any files? Its happening to me about 80% of the time. It usually only does TIFFs properly, although I got it to do PNGs once.

Hello, I'm looking to develop a tool (ideally through model builder as my python writing ability is not stellar) that creates a simple user interface that has dropdown menus for desired fields of a selected table and typed input users to type in a numeric value for each. I.e.: FIELD VALUE A = 30 B = 50 C = 10 ect. I'm stuck in two places here: 1. I'm creating a value table in model builder with a column type of "field" and a column type of "string." I'm having trouble linking this value table of inputs to the input table. I can't make it a precondition, or a dependency parameter in the properties menu. 2. I'm then trying to run an "Iterate Multivalue" through my value table and then for each iteration call both the field and the value into the "Calculate Field" tool. Would simply calling %Field% for the field input and %value% for the expression input suffice, I'm not sure what is being contained in the "Value" output of the iteration. Thank you!
