Hi Josh, One more thing related to my previous reply. I spoke briefly with the Daylight team about your feedback and they wanted to take a look at the edits that you made a few weeks ago and consider how those might be brought into Daylight more quickly. Would you mind sharing the OSM username and/or changeset ID for the edits that you made? You could send me an email (dkensok@esri.com) or message me on OSM (user Deane Kensok). I see an OSM account for you but not sure if it's the one you used for the edits you mentioned. Thanks, Deane

Hi Josh, Your last note above is probably about right. I believe there is a ~4 week period from the time the Daylight team begins a build of a Daylight release with the latest OSM edits and the time it is publicly released. This is the time in which the OSM data is being run through a series of integrity checks and fixes are being made iteratively. Once Daylight is released as a PBF and OSC files, there is a ~3 week period where it is loaded, cached, and published as hosted vector tiles by Esri. While that is happening, the next release of Daylight is already well underway and nearing completion. I agree with Bern that it would be worth reaching out to the Daylight team regarding your process, and we'll discuss with them as well. There might be some ways we can optimize the process to get your critical edits in more quickly. On a related note, Esri is hosting a set of OSM feature layers (now in beta) that are being updated directly with minutely 'diffs' from OSM. These are not vector tile basemaps, but they are an alternate way to get access to the latest edits very soon after they are made in OSM, and could be overlayed on the basemap in a web map. Cheers, Deane

We added support in Living Atlas for countries/regions where we had a good set (e.g. at least 5-10) of high quality items focused on that place. We do not have that for all countries, though the "World" region has a lot of global content that covers all countries. We are looking to add support for more countries, such as Nigeria, going forward.

Hello and thanks for the question. I was a little surprised with the currency of the imagery for Jaji in your screenshot so I double-checked our Imagery with Metadata web map and the dates I'm seeing are a bit different. The current imagery for Jaji seems to be from November 2015-2016 (e.g. 3-4 years old), which is more what I would expect. Another useful tool to see the latest and previous versions of our imagery is the World Imagery Wayback app. Looking at this, it looks like we last updated the imagery in this part of the world in September 2018, and there were a couple different versions available prior to that. In general, our goal for our World Imagery map is to have detailed (source 50cm or better) imagery that is within 3-5 years of currency. We update the imagery on a regular basis with the latest imagery that is available to us. For the DigitalGlobe Vivid imagery that we have for this part of the world, we are now starting to update all of the world with the latest Vivid imagery each year. I will double-check but I expect we will be deploying a Vivid imagery update to this part of the world in the near future. This will likely update the imagery in Jaji to something more recent than above, assuming high quality imagery was captured in the past 1-2 years. As we make significant updates to our World Imagery map, we will be publishing info to the ArcGIS Living Atlas blog site. I hope this helps!

The last update to the World Imagery map was published in October 2011. Esri has normally been doing semi-annual updates to the World Imagery map. Beginning this year, however, Esri will be doing more frequent updates of the World Imagery map, similar or our World Topographic Map. There is an update to the World Imagery map planned in the next couple weeks that will include a very large set of NAIP 2010 imagery, along with a few other updates. We'll post the details in the World Imagery description and ArcGIS Online Blog, including a map of the updated areas, right after this update is released. Going forward, we'll be making more frequent updates to the World Imagery map (often monthly) as we add more international imagery and update our U.S. imagery. As always, keep an eye on the ArcGIS Online Blog for the latest updates .... Deane K. ArcGIS Online Team

Rebecca, Due to the larger size of the USA Zip Code Boundaries layer package download, you will need to have Service Pack 1 & 2 and Service Pack 2 Quality Improvement Patch installed when using 9.3.1. Without these patches, the larger layer packages may download but will be unsuccessful. These Service Packs and Patches can be found here: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/patches-and-service-packs?fa=listPatches&PID=43&FilterPV_2=549&maxVersion=12&maxCategory=2&FilterVersion=+go+ And the specific files you need are: ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 9.3.1 Service Pack 1 ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 9.3.1 Service Pack 2 ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 9.3.1 Service Pack 2 Quality Improvement Patch I's also suggest installing the following patch from the same page so that you can successfully download any layer packages created using Desktop 10.0 software: ArcGIS 9.3.1 Service Pack 2 Desktop Layer Packaging Patch I hope this helps.

The World Imagery map is typically updated twice per year with a large volume of updated imagery. As you mention, the imagery map does include a large amount of NAIP imagery. With each update, we try to include the latest available NAIP imagery that has been processed and blended into the nationwide mosaic. The next imagery update has been completed and being replicated for deployment to ArcGIS Online in late Q2. It includes a number of updated areas of NAIP 2009 imagery. In the following update scheduled for late this year, there will be any remaining NAIP 2009 imagery plus initial sets of NAIP 2010 imagery, along with other imagery from commercial sources and local providers.
