Thanks for your answer All is 64 bit (Operative system, ArcGIS API and Java Runtime Environment) and the problem persisted. However trying several actions I decided to install service pack 1 on my operative system and "voilà", it worked! (in fact it still doesn't show the map because some connectivity issues caused by a proxy but the application started). I'm unsure about the problem because as I mentioned above, the requirements state that Windows Server 2008 R2 is enough but for me, the solution was install service pack 1.

Greetings, Please, I have a problem with application deployment. I developed my app under windows 8.1 and deployed it to another PC with the same OS without problems. But when I try to deploy under windows server 2008 r2 the runtime core library is no recognized. The error, of course, an Unsatisfied Link Error: Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS SDKs\ja va10.2.4\arcgisruntime10.2.4\client64\runtimecore_java.dll I've checked the path to the library and tried to do it with the Deployment Builder but the dll file is no recognized even though it is there. Is like it wasn't compatible with windows Server 2008. But the System Requirmentes (System requirements for 10.2.4—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java | ArcGIS for Developers ) says that it is compatible with: Windows 2008 R2 Server Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter (64-bit (EM64T)). I don't have SP1 installed but the table says at most SP1. Could it be a problem with the msvcp120/msvcr120 libraries? Thanks before hand. I hope someone can help me.

Greetings, I need to load shape files as layers in a map through Qt. In several posts: ShapeFile https://community.esri.com/message/587083?commentID=587083#comment-587083 Loading shapefile in QML https://community.esri.com/message/544337?commentID=544337#comment-544337 it's mentioned that this feature is not yet avaiable, soon in the next release. But these posts are 1 or 2 years ago. I wonder if there is a concrete date for these feature release or a website where I can monitor availability. Thanks beforehand.

When I begin my application with Street as basemap layer and two more feature layers, I have 3 layers in total map.getLayer().size But when I change the basemap layer to Gray_base or Hybrid: map.setMapOptions(new MapOptions(MapType.GRAY_BASE)); One more layer is added (4 after the change). If I change again to other basemap not being GRAY_BASE or HYBRID the extra layer is removed (having 3 as initially) Why this happens? I think it's not an error in my code because even the sample code (the MapOptionsApp example) shows this behavior. What can I do to avoid this extra layer? Beforehand thanks a lot.

Hello, I'm trying to use the GeometryEngine.getNearestCoordinate() method but one of its arguments is a Geometry which I suppose it'd be the multi-point or polyline shape file which contains a trajectory I want to evaluate. So that I'm trying to load this shapefile as a geometry using GeometryEngine.geometryFromEsriShape(). First I load the shape file as follows: byte[] esriShapeBuffer = null;
try {
esriShapeBuffer = Files.readAllBytes(shapeFile.toPath());
} catch (IOException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();
}
Geometry g = GeometryEngine.geometryFromEsriShape(esriShapeBuffer, Geometry.Type.UNKNOWN);
Point p = GeometryEngine.getNearestCoordinate(g, mapPoint, false).getCoordinate(); But in line 8 Geometry g results to be null, even though I tried all Geometry Types (although I know my shape file is multi point). When I reviewed the documentation of geometryFromEsriShape it says: Note: this is not from a shape-file on disk. So, please, how can I generate a geometry from a shapefile? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Sorry for the delay of my response, I'd been working out. Option 2 is not an alternative because I have a great number of points, and all of them are placed dynamically. I've tried option 3 and works great. Thanks a lot. But I'd like to have the labes there permanently, not only when mouse hovers them, so that I tried the option 1 inside a layerInitializeComplete listener (as the documentation commands) but it happens nothing. There is none of the labels. And I don't receive any exception. Is there a preparing procedure before turn the labels visibility on?

Greetings, I have a CSV file in the following form: Name,Latitude,Longitude VS01,2153797.44782777,-10702155.84486526 VS02,2157776.89764107,-10702274.58364621 I have generated the corresponding shape file and used a ShapefileFeatureTable and FeatureLayer, but when the shape is displayed on the map only the points are shown. How can I also visualize the name attribute to the corresponding points? In the attached image is what I've done so far. I need to do this using the API ArcGis SDK for Java

Sorry, could you give me more clues. I couldn't figure out how to use it. Since I don't use DynamicMapServiceLayer, according to my last snippet I tried: MapOptions mapOptions = new MapOptions(MapType.STREETS, 17.94262710, -95.92216487, 6);
map = new JMap(mapOptions);
map.getLayers().get(0).addLayerInitializeCompleteListener(new LayerInitializeCompleteListener() {
@Override
public void layerInitializeComplete(LayerInitializeCompleteEvent e) {
System.out.println("Error: " + map.getLayers().get(0).getException().getMessage());
}
}); Since, after creating, the map the layer[0] is the BaseMapTiled Layer. But I still can't catch the exception, I think that's because at that point the layer doesn't exist due to the connection error.

Nothing happens, I used: try{ MapOptions mapOptions = new MapOptions(MapType.STREETS, 24.43261, -102.92041, 4); JMap jMap = new JMap(mapOptions); jMap.setWrapAroundEnabled(true); } catch(Exception e){ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(window, "Error connection"); } It doesn't catch it. I think the error connection occurs when creating the map because when I debug it, is in this step when the exception is thrown (after 20 seconds). But when I checked the constructor new JMap it doesn't throw any exception. Please, help.

According to Not able to add ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer in Arc When you don't properly set the proxy parameters you get HttpHostConnectException. How can you catch this connection exception (org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException) since it's not thrown by JMap class itself. I need to catch this error and take suitable actions or an appropriate warning message about the proxy parameters correctness. I tried: MapOptions mapOptions = new MapOptions(MapType.STREETS, 24.43261, -102.92041, 4); try{ JMap jMap = new JMap(mapOptions); jMap.setWrapAroundEnabled(true); } catch(HttpHostConnectException e){ // Handle error connection due to incorrect proxy parameters } But, of course, the compiler claims "Out of Reach try catch clause"
