Hi Ynon, Which browser are you using? I have experienced issues with IE that the symbology does not come through in the web map. Switch to chrome or firefox and they do. Regards, Eric

Hi Mahbub, Can you attach your file? I'm thinking that there may be an issue with how the data is created, e.g. a shapefile that is assigned to Washington Stateplane, but really isn't that coordinate system. Also, can you include the lat/long as well? Eric

I generated a heat map using Esri Maps for Office. When I shared the map to my organization, the heat map layer becomes just a black point. What should I do? Or, is this something that cannot be posted from EMO to Online? Hi Stan, If you are publishing a heat map from Esri Maps for Office, you will need to remove the layer prior to publishing. The javascript in the webmap cannot display it. You can, however, do the heatmap in the webmap with perform analysis from the layers you have published from Excel. Hope this helps, Eric

Hi Mahbub, Yes, it supports state plane coordinates - here's the link to the help on the location types - http://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-office/help/location-types.htm. You will need to select Web Mercator for those coordinates. Hope this helps. Eric

Hi CLW, Here's the link to the latest help version for 2.1 - http://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-office/help/location-types.htm on location types. You will need to publish a feature access service either to the ArcGIS Online Organization or have a local service registered in the organization. Either way, most likely will need to publish this service from ArcMap. Hope this helps, Eric

Hi Perry, I would suggest you place this code into an idea on the Ideas site - ideas.arcgis.com. That way it goes straight to the developers and others that work with the products. Hope this helps. Regards, Eric

Hi, I can't install ESRI Maps for Office. I have Microsoft Office 2013 that is 32 bit operating system (both the PC and the Office Software). Does ESRI Maps support Office 2013 yet? I thought I saw some where that it does but it is not working for me. Please help. Thanks. Kimball Hansen Hi Kimball, Here's the link to the system requirements. Yes, Office 2013 is supported. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/esri-maps-office/index.html#//02930000001z000000 If you are having issues installing, please verify which version you are installing. The latest is v. 2.0.2. Also, what types of error messages are you receiving when you run Office? Regards, Eric

Hi Alagiri , My OS is an x64 build one. The Office installed in my machine is of x86 version. However , I get an error while launching the Excel/powerpoint. Pls see the attachment. Could you help me with a solution. Hi Deepa, Please verify that you have installed the correct version for your Excel. Open Excel, click File, Help. On the right-hand side it will tell you. You have posted an attachment with x64 so I'm assuming that this may have the incorrect version. If you have 32-bit office, then install the 32-bit office and let us know if that worked. Hope this helps. Regards, Eric

Could you help me with a solution. Hi Deepa, It's not so much that your OS is 64-bit, but your Office version is 32-bit or 64-bit. For example, I have Win 7 64-bit, but my Office is 332-bit. You need to find out if Excel is 32 or 64-bit. Open Excel, click File, Help. See my screenshot and you can see on the right hand side the version and type. Hope this helps. Eric

Thanks for the response. But unfortunately it didn't fix the problem (yes, I am an admin of the computer). I installed the new version of Esri Maps for Office (EsriMapsForOffice_x86_2.0.1_en), same issue. I have uploaded an image showing what happens when I simply click on "Insert Map", while having cell A1 selected. Notice the Error window and the formula which appears (=EMBED("WinForms.Control.Host.V3","")). Hope I still get to test Esri Maps for Office before my ArcGIS Online Trial expires... Thanks in advance. Hi, Have you tried updating or reinstalling your .net framework? There is a prerequisite for the .net framework. Just trying to think of other things you can try before your trial ends. Eric

Indeed I have the same problem...I can't understand which is the difference and what can I do for change this. Can you help me?What is an ORGANIZATION account? I can't understand by reading the help pages.. Hi Elisa - there are two accounts you can have with arcgis online. Public accounts which are free and can create, share web maps and some types of data. These have 2gb limit. The organization/subscription account can use cloud-based geocoding, create feature and tiled map services (this requires arcgis server) in the cloud and transfers of data into/out of the cloud. If you already have a public account, you cannot use this account for an organization/subscription. I have two accounts - one public and one for my organization. Hope this clarifies this a bit. Eric

Same issue. Powerpoint works fine, Excel not. I downloaded and installed "EsriMapsForOffice_x86_1.1_en". Hi Taro, Are you an administrator of the computer? If you are, then try removing the add-in and reinstalling it. I did this when I had an issue selecting features. A complete removal and reinstall fix the issue. Hope this helps, Eric

Hi All! I am an intermediate Microsoft Excel developer, I'm good with Excel/VBA, but my weakness is in writing & receiving data from webpages. I need to figure out one simple task... I'm hoping someone can help me with this... I literally just need to enter a zip code (contained inside my worksheet in Excel) into a webpage (I know how to open the web browser and navigate to this webpage already), I just dont know how to code it from there. Then, once the Zip Code is input into the webpage, I need to programmatically press the 'GO' button on the webpage? Check it out, here is the webpage: http://gisatnrel.nrel.gov/PVWatts_Viewer/index.html The above webpage is powered by ESRI, which links back to this forum, so I am hoping someone here knows how to do this? The data I am looking to get back from the webpage after the GO button executes programmitacally, is located inside the "40km Monthly Grid Cell" (there are 2 Grid Cells which are data boxes regarding the zip code entered). They appear with data in them, I need the data inside the "40km Monthly Grid Cell". Within that Grid Cell, you will see a line called: "Annual ( kWh / m2 / day ):" To the right if this, you will see a number, it will be a number between 4.5 and 6.5 and it represents the Peak Sun Hours for that Zip Code. That's all I need!!??!? Is there anyone who can help me with the code to do this? Matt, I'm not a programmer, but you will need access to the REST endpoint and a feature access service to be able to make any changes into a website like you are thinking about doing. If you don't have those, then you will have just a web application with a cached or dynamic map services. Hope this points you in a better direction. You may want to post over in the Web API forums as well. Eric

I haven't used this in a few weeks, but upon creating new map slides for a presentation next week, I notice that all of our maps that were created with the Bing Maps background now only show the gray canvas and no imagery. When I open all these web maps in my browser in the map viewer, the bing maps imagery shows up fine. But when I add the web map as a dynamic map in powerpoint, the imagery disappears. I thought as part of the Bing Maps transition, all maps with Bing basemaps were supposed to be left alone? Hi nfazer, You will need to get a Bing key to keep using Bing as a basemap. Once you get a key from Bing, open your workbook, click File, Esri Maps to put the key in. Hope this helps, Eric

Hi phantom, I'm assuming you mean how to gereference an image. See the following link: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Fundamentals_of_georeferencing_a_raster_dataset/009t000000mn000000/ You didn't mention which version of the software but the process is the same.
