It's crazy, more than 3-years now since this thread was first started and the .rlock/.glock issue continues to dog some ArcGIS Server admins. On the positive side, I'm glad the responses captured here by myself and others are still helping the community.

Here is a nice little list of public geocoding services, many of which are free or free when not called as a batch operation. You might need to adapt your code to make REST calls, but it looked like a number of the geocoding services also support XML (SOAP).

Hi Joe, Typically when I've seen the UI hang-up during SOE registration it was because the web browser security was preventing active scripting. Try loosening up your browser/scripting security and see if that helps.

Sounds like you've already gone pretty far down the whole String/memory path, but one last thing to try: String.Copy The Copy method returns a String object that has the same value as the original string but represents a different object reference. It differs from an assignment operation, which assigns an existing string reference to an additional object variable." Assuming that the contents of the UniqueValues property look correct as you iterate through, this problem should be solvable through variable/memory management.

Hi Justin, With regard to IDataStatistics.UniqueValues being corrupted, were you simply trying to return the value of this property (an IEnumerator instance) from your function? Since IDataStatistics functionality is cursor-based, it's not entirely surprising that the contents of UniqueValues becomes corrupt once your function completes and the objects are out of scope. You should consider copying the contents of the UniqueValues property to a separate variable (array, IList, or similar) and returning that from your function.

Martin, Have you tried using the sde.next_id procedure inside your trigger to obtain the object ID (instead of MAX() + 1)? That should ensure you get an appropriate object ID while also maintaining the correct state in the system tables.

Hi Owain, It looks like the parameter value provided to the saveToFile method needs to be a folder path, not the name of the file being saved. I haven't worked with these interfaces before, but looking at this snippet I think it might be the change you need to make.

You can query for a folder or service's Permissions using the ArcGIS Server REST API. The resulting JSON will define any principals (i.e. in your case a Windows groups) and the type of permissions each principal has on the folder or service.

Hi Youmei, Apparently there was a bug related to the DefinitionExpression method returning nothing: NIM094075 Supposedly it's fixed at 10.2.1 ... but maybe it's not. You may want to contact Esri Support to verify.

Mohan, Here is some potentially helpful info: How to: Add a Reference to a Web Service This will generate the proxy objects you need to invoke the web service from your client (i.e. ArcMap add-in) Next, you need to decide how the endpoint binding information will be set on your proxy. Two possible options here: Allow the proxy's endpoint binding to be automatically set from configuration. This will require you to copy the generated connection info from your add-in's app.config into the ArcMap config: C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.x\bin\ArcMap.exe.config Manually set up the endpoint and binding objects in code (see whatCharlie Richman did in his reply above). This can involve the use of the WSHttpBinding and EndpointAddress classes. This option gives you full control but leaves a lot of room for errors.

Any active connection to the DEFAULT version in your geodatabase will register locks in the SDE tables, even if these connections are merely viewing data, so it is plausible for there to be multiple "owners" of these locks (i.e. one for each distinct connection). The recommendation fromAsrujit SenGupta should certainly work to display the info you need. If you are working purely from the SQL side, the following query might also help: SELECT
pri.owner,
tr.table_name,
tl.*
FROM sde.sde_versions v
JOIN sde.SDE_state_locks sl ON sl.state_id = v.state_id
JOIN sde.SDE_process_information pri ON pri.sde_id = sl.sde_id
JOIN sde.sde_table_locks tl ON tl.sde_id = pri.sde_id
JOIN sde.sde_table_registry tr ON tr.registration_id = tl.registration_id
WHERE v.name = 'DEFAULT'

Hi Marco, I don't believe what you're describing is possible. When a client accesses your ArcGIS Server instance with the port number (6080 or 6443) included in the URL, you are effectively bypassing the Web Adaptor and are communicating directly with the internal Apache/Gernomio web server that ArcGIS Server runs on. That web server "tier" is separate from the one where the Web Adaptor is installed (e.g. IIS). The "arcgis" portion of this internal web server's URL is not configurable, at least not to my knowledge.
