Couple of followup items: Topolgy rules are a feature of the geodatabase. So you will need to move from shapefiles to feature classes. Eventually you will need to combine all of the centerlines into a single feature class in order to create a network dataset for routing through your region. However, as Russell suggested it will be a good idea to review the snapping (either manually via ArcMap or using the snap tool) on a County by County basis. I would start by examining two adjacent counties with a few overlaps manually and then start to build tools, scripts, validation checks as you go so you can repeat the process more quickly for the other counties and have the ability to repeat the process as new centerlines are published from the various entities.

Have you examined the topology tools in ArcMap? Geodatabase topology rules and topology error fixes—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop If you create a topology rule-set (no dangles) ArcMap can identify every segment that does't connect to another segment. It may sound tedious, but in your case I would suggest manually reviewing all dangles errors between the county boundaries. The topology error inspector is capable of batch resolving errors, but in your case you will want to monitor / control which centerlines you are linking together. You may also need to consider the directionality in your segments depending on how you've configured your network dataset. There are plenty of ways to examine the issue, but topology rules is a good place to start.

Are there any potential workarounds in the meantime? Should we restart GeoEvent services periodically? I'm working in a scenario with a development, staging, and production servers and GeoEvent will sporadically hit 100%. After hitting 100%, other map / feature services become erratic. With three servers we're seeing the issue happen at different times.

Mark, Can you provide a list of the additional spatial operators planned for the 10.3 release? I'm also curious if there's anyway to experiment with the "stream-service" which I believe is also planned for 10.3 release. My notes from the 2014 DevSummit describe a stream-service as a "stream-layer" but managed by the server rather than the client. Not sure if this information is already out there... I missed the UC and GeoNet is still new. Thanks! -Erick

The dashboard crashes for me when trying to create or save a new dashboard. Essentially it will crash every time I try to add a map widget to an operational view. I believe you need to modify the "maximum records returned" property for your services. By default in server 9.3 it's set to 500. This property can be set via the server manager application (yourservername/arcgis/rest/manager). I've attached a screen capture showing what it looks like. If you want a query to return all records just set your max number returned property to a number greater than the number of records in your feature class. This url shows a query for all records in the parcel numbers service using your rest end point. The query is set to "where 1=1" which means it will attempt to request all records in your parcel numbers service. Everytime I run it I get 500 records returned. http://gis.bangormaine.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/ParcelNumbers-Dynamic/MapServer/0/query?text=&geometry=&geometryType=esriGeometryEnvelope&inSR=&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&where=1%3D1&returnGeometry=false&outSR=&outFields=&f=html Hope this helps.

I have a composite address locator based on four address locators, all stored in ArcSDE (v10). Since there is no way to rebuild a composite locator to refresh the data, I created a model that rebuilds each participating address locator, deleted the composite locator, then recreates the composite locator. However, the Create Composite Locator tool doesn't set the spatial reference based on the first participating locator. Each time I create the composite, I must go into the properties and set it manually. Any ideas why this is? Thanks, Michael Is it necessary to create a new composite locator in this situation? It's not 100% clear to me if this is the case, but based off the esri documentation... "The composite address locator stores only references to the participating address locators and geocode services; it does not contain the actual address information, indexes, and data of the individual locators." It seems to me that if the participating address locators are simply refreshed then the composite locator should utilize the new indexes based off the updated / modified source data. Is this a safe assumption?
