The only way to solve this within the current environment that I've been able to think of is to use Role Users instead of Named Users, and then pass that account on to whoever is going to use it next. E.g. instead of 'Jonah.Whale' account that is disabled or deleted until next season (if he ever comes back) we have 'Field.Operative.23'. The kink in this is that user accounts (role names) are tied to Esri Training and Geonet. I'm willing to pay that cost to avoid the drudgery work of creating and deleting what is essentially the same account again and again.

This is basically what Append tool does. What could marry Copy>>Paste to Append is if we could feed Append a selection set. E.g. select a bunch of features >> r-click >> Data >> Export to tool >> {select GP tool}, which would be Append in this case.

The inconsistency extends to ArcGIS Online also. Here's some ideas to vote up so we don’t have to contend with this forever, maybe: Arcade Expressions in Operation Dashboard Auto-populate a permanent field based on Arcade Expression Arcade Expression in Ops Dashboard List Widget attribute expression & web app builder & operations dashboard arcade integration with infographic widget Add "Currency" and "Percentage" field types to ArcGIS Online in pop ups It would be really, really good to have and use the same technique across all areas, from Desktop to Online, instead of creating a distinct attribute column for each scenario.

I like this idea. It obviates the need to recreate expressions in multiple apps for the same effect (in my current case, showing decimal as percentage).

WRT "sharing setup", yes, let's do that. I have a Huion XP-Pen 22E, which has the programmable buttons on the side, plus the Shortcut Remote, which can be used with any Huion. I've not yet dived into what shortcuts should be put in the programmable buttons. Any suggestions? I'll edit this post as I go, building a reference resource.

"Note: To control the scale to which it zooms (i.e., level of detail), configure the map element and update the Point Zoom Scale property. In this dashboard I used 50,000,000. Make sure to enter the number without commas." Where is this property? I can't find it and the map element page linked to doesn't mention it. Thanks!

Posted in ArcGIS Pro forum last week but no replies yet. Let's try the Cartography forum. ((wish there was a better way to catch multiple communities)) Surface Pro Studio and ArcGIS (Map & Pro)?

Has anyone tried Microsoft Surface Pro Studio with ArcMap and/or Pro? What was that like, what worked/didn't. etc. (and feel free to spin off on Wacom Cintiq or Huion if you have experience with those too)

Active editing by both. Conserving disk space is nice but not essential. Avoiding data duplication is highly desirable -- specifically the headache of trying to remember which feature class or table in which location is the most current, and merging updates between.

This is great! Dan, if/when you have time and willingness, would you consider expand on and describing your structure here? https://community.esri.com/message/830901-folder-structure-for-shared-pro-and-map-projects

We're going to be living with concurrent ArcMap and ArcPro projects for many years. It would be good to have best practice or at least suggested folder structure(s) for projects that want or need to use both of these products at the same time on the same data and maps. What have you tried already, and from that experience what works and what doesn't? Keep in mind there's never going to be a realized ideal. Meaning: please don't turn into a litany of complaint thread. Both products have deep assumptions about folder structure that can't be easily changed. Recognizing that starting point, what practical things can we do to make using the two together somewhat more efficient and productive? (That said, please do feel free to link to other places, Ideas for instance, where those itchy things have potential for change.)
