In my app, when I click scale(24000) and (12000), I see the map changes as scale changes. But from 8000 to 12000, there is no change. Are there some fixed scale tiles set in ESRI base maps? I don't have much experience of map documents. Thanks in advance, li

Hi, I have water well layer and some wells(say, 3 wells) fall on the same calculated location with different well id. In ArcMap the labels are shown separately, but in js API, they stack together. I checked the reference and I didn't find a right label placement for it. I might miss something. Is there a way to show them separately, or just change a custom label for the group of wells. Any input is appreciated. li

Dan, Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I checked some samples again and tried by setting geodesic=true, which solved the calculation problem. Have a happy Thanksgiving! Regards, li

Hi, I'm using ESRI base maps and add local UTM layers in my map app. From I can read, UTM layers would be magically re-projected into ESRI's web mercator. All UTM layers shows ok, but when I use Draw tool to measure the distance between the two borders of a Township, Range and Section(1 mile) I get 1.4miles. Does the distance calculation use a different projection? Does anyone have some ideas to solve the problem? Please help. Thanks in advance, li

Thanks for your quick response. There is not much code at all. I declare a function and use a menu item to pass basemap name. That's it. It seems to me that the default map object doesn't get swopped. var selectBasemap = function(basemapId) { if (cwiMap.map.getBasemap() != basemapId) { cwiMap.map.setBasemap(basemapId); } }; Regards, li

I use Map.setBasemap function to change the basemap. The basemap is changed, but it changes back to the default if I pan and zoom out the map. Is there a way to solve it, instead of use basemap gallery? Thanks in advance, li

Hi, I use dojo bordercontainer in which set top region as my menu holder, and the center is map. I put a menu built on a list I copied from online. It works if I put the menu inside the map div, but it doesn't if it's in the top region. I want to show on the top of the map as a dojo dropdown menu bar. I tried changing some settings of the css, but it doesn't work. CSS is as following: #menuBar{ display: block; position:absolute; z-index:5000; right:250px; top:5px; height: 20px; overflow:visible; } #nav li { border-top: 1px solid blue; border-bottom: 1px solid blue; list-style: none; float: left; font: bold 10px arial; overflow:visible; } #nav li a.menu { display: block; text-align: center; background: #2175bc; padding: 4px 5px; margin: 0 1px 0 0; color: #FFF; width: 80px; text-decoration: none; } #nav li a.menu:hover { background: #2586d7; } .submenu { background: #2175bc; visibility: hidden; position: absolute; } .submenu a { display: block; font: 10px arial; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; color: #ffffff; width: 80px; padding: 4px 10px; text-align: center; } .submenu a:hover { background: #2586d7; color: yellow; text-align: right; } and html is like: <div id="cwiMenuBar"> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#" class="menu" id="mmenu1" onmouseover="mopen(1);" onmouseout="mclosetime();">Zoom To</a> <div class="submenu" id="menu1" onmouseover="mcancelclosetime()" onmouseout="cwiMenu.mclosetime();"> <a href="#" onClick="Dispatcher('tr');">Township Range</a> <a href="#" onClick="Dispatcher('city');">City</a> <a href="#" onClick="Dispatcher('township');">Township Name</a> <a href="#" onClick="Dispatcher('latlon');">Latitude Longitude</a> </div> </li> <li><a href="#" class="menu" id="mmenu2" onmouseover="mopen(2);" onmouseout="mclosetime();">Tools</a> <div class="submenu" id="menu2" onmouseover="mcancelclosetime()" onmouseout="mclosetime();"> <a href="#">SUB 2-1</a> <a href="#">SUB 2-2</a> <a href="#">SUB 2-3</a> <a href="#">SUB 2-4</a> </div> </li> Please help. Thanks in advance. li

I just find out that putting "search" div inside map div would keep auto-resizing, but if I put "search" div outside the map div, the problem occurs. Can anyone give some ideas? Thanks. li

I'm having a problem with the map resizing with the window as soon as I've added ESRI's Geocoder. I cannot see much difference between the samples and mine, which is var app.geocoder = new Geocoder({map: app.map}, "search").startup() and CSS is #search { display: block; position: absolute; z-index: 2; top: 20px; right: 50px; (neither right or left would work) } Can anyone help? Regards, li

It should be working. Let me double check on this and get back to you. If anything changes, please let me know. Thanks. Testing further, I found the page works for IE in document mode IE9. I added the line in my index page and it works. I'm using IE 11. <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge"> Should IE 7 and 8 also work for js api 3.8? Regards. Li

I developed a map app on my local machine, and everything works fine. Then I moved the code to IIS server on a Windows 2008 and set up the proxy page. Everything behaves the same for Firefox and Chrome, but IE 10 simply doesn't render the map as it does on my localhost. I checked the network traffic using Fiddler. Firefox and Chrome lists more requests than IE. I thought they should be the same. Could anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance. Regards, Li
